  1. 5/5What a great app for storing, using, planning and shopping from for your favorite recipes

I have been using this app for at least four years now and by far it is to only thing I use to cook from anymore. I love that I can choose which recipes I want in this collection along with any ones that I make up. I can download from the internet, take a picture of ones from my favorite cookbooks or create my own. The end result is a collection of recipes of only what you want. As you prepare recipes, if you decide to alter the recipe you can make a change without having to start from square one or simply add a note at the end to show what you solid different. You can take pictures of your own creations to better see the result. If you are a planner, the menu planning option is a great way to structure your meals for a day, week, month or what ever your needs are. I am not generally a big user of this part as a general rule but when I am doing a special meal or have guests for a weekend or week, I can have the food part planned out so I can spend more time with friends or family. The shopping part helps to make sure that you don't forget important ingredients and is best used in combination with the planning part. I truly love this app and would encourage you to try it. I think if you did, you, too, would be sold on it.

  2. 5/5Proof is in the pudding

Plan to Eat has been my saving grace for years now, and I cannot state it enough! Use the app, make the plan, stick to the plan, and the plan will serve you over and over. I struggled with other meal plans before finding this one. This is easy to build my library of our favorite recipes, I can build my meal plan for a whole month (or more or less, depending on my need) in just a few minutes of clicking and dragging, and I can easily print my shopping list for the week so I know exactly what I need at the store. Three big takeaways: 1) We have wasted less food! If I know I have the ingredients for a meal, it’s easy to execute and therefore we use up the food I purchased! 2) We eat out less and therefore save money! Knowing I have the ingredients to make meals we like, we don’t want to eat out. 3) It takes the guesswork out of feeding the family and on days when I don’t want to cook, it’s too easy to just stick to the plan! I’ve been able to follow our plan after death in the family, hard days with the kids, or days where you come home later than expected. It takes effort to order take out or go to a restaurant, and I find it easier to stick to the plan than figure out where to eat out! All in all, this is an easy to execute plan that fits whatever recipes you eat, and I’ve been consistently “sticking to the plan” for years now. No other meal plan has been able to deliver that much consistency. So, Plan to Eat and stick to the plan! You won’t regret it if you use it! Let it work for you!

  3. 5/5Helps me stay organized so I have more energy for other things!

I really don’t know how long I have had this app, but I know it’s been several years. Being able to add recipes I find on different sites is great. And I appreciate being able to plan a week or month’s worth of meal plans at a time. In the last year, I started freezer cooking, and Plan to Eat has been invaluable! My recipes are right there, and I can add or modify things as needed. I usually plan to make about 3-4 freezer meals for each week of the month. Planning and cooking ahead saves me effort and energy so I can be with my family in the evenings instead of being exhausted. I like the “add to freezer” feature with Plan to Eat. This has helped me plan further ahead, so I am only concentrating on meal planning about once every 8 or 9 weeks. I also appreciate the grocery list functions. I don’t use them as much right now, but in the past depended on them to get my lists ready for our weekly grocery adventure. Plan to Eat is literally my favorite app! I use it daily and my family knows how to log in and access the app to find their favorite recipes. My daughter is using the app right now for a class project. She is collecting “tried and true” recipes and almost all of ours are on Plan to Eat. There are probably other things I could say, but I will end by saying that I love this app and heartily recommend it!

  4. 5/5I Love Plan To Eat!

There are so many things I love about this app! Let me count the ways! I’ve been using Plan To Eat for about 3 years now and it really keeps me on track for cooking and serving delicious meals for my family. I follow select food bloggers and love how easy PTE makes saving the recipes I want to try. I love the Plan feature… each week my family and I sit down and plan out our menus on specific days, plus it’s easy to move them to different days using the touch feature to drag them. Editing the recipes for substitutions and variations is a breeze! The Notes feature helps me remember any tweaks I make at the time of cooking. The Cook view makes following the prep and cooking steps very easy to do. Being able to edit the Courses, Cuisines and Main Ingredients to my specific requirements is marvelous! This makes the Search function very intuitive. I like being able to edit photos so when something turns out really pretty, I can save it! Plus I like my dishes and serving platters! I cook lots of different Cuisines so being able to collect them in specific groups is very helpful in Menu Planning. I get easily distracted and I like to wake up knowing what I plan to make each day. The Shopping List is really good, although the categories could be a little more condensed. However, the recipes would have to be more uniform in their ingredient descriptions for that to be implementable I suppose. Probably, the best thing is to have a place to keep and Share my own recipes! I simply title them, Crystal’s Famous and then whatever it is! Search and they all come up together with pictures! Oh, and Sharing my food via Social Media is simple and gets lots of attention from my family and friends! There is simply everything to love about this app!

  5. 5/5This app keeps my life on track!

I have been a type 1 diabetic since I was 11 months old. In October of 2013, my kidneys failed and I started dialysis. Needless to say, food is extremely important to my well being and in fact, my life. Add to that, 2 boys and a husband. One gluten free and one with heart issues. I plan my menus a month at a time, print them and post them on the refrigerator for everyone to see. The import feature allows me to add recipes from my dialysis center’s website and the nutrition calculator has helped with knowing the carbohydrate in each serving so I can successfully use my insulin pump to give the correct amount of insulin. They say that knowledge is power, and in this case, it is a lifesaver as well. The organization that the Plan to Eat app allows me to have is a true time and energy saver. In addition, I can plan my monthly meals, convert that to a shopping list, and even order my groceries from that list so that I’m sure that I have everything I need when I go to cook it. When I have needed support for the app, I simply send an email and the staff literally gets back to me the same day and has answered my questions, each and every time. When I’m in the kitchen, I simply look at my scheduled meal, click on it, the recipe comes up and I can start cooking. I highly recommend this app, the company, the features and will continue to use it for years to come.
