  1. 3/5Not intuitive on Apple Watch

I like the app and would rate higher but the Apple Watch issue really drives down the value for me at this point. - My suggestion is to find a way to simplify how the sleep analysis works on Apple Watch and ensure that it does so consistently. Not to mention if you need troubleshoot support that you can get it from beginning to end. It seems it worked fine when I first got the watch (3 days of painless reporting on my watch) and now it never shows my sleep analysis information on the watch. I’ve basically gotten fed up with attempting to trouble shoot - no real help from support. Now I just let it do it’s thing when I sleep (automatic tracking), and check the app on my phone now after spending almost 2 weeks trying to figure out the issue. I’ve done every possible fix available - still doesn’t update on my watch. Now I just use Apple sleep complications for my watch main screen and just check Pillow on my phone. It’s a little frustrating tho - not going to lie. I personally love the color and design of the analysis of Pillow for the main watch screen complication over the Apple sleep analysis, but I can’t get it to work and frankly I’m over trying. I pay for premium and considering that - I’d like to access all the functionality but at this point I’m tired of banging my head on the wall. Other than that (which is so so SO frustrating) it’s alright, but this pain point definitely drives my review scoring. Otherwise, I’d give the app 4-5 stars.

  2. 2/5Using extensive iPhone battery

UPDATE#2- I appreciate the developers response and will try again with their suggestions. UPDATE #1- I have disabled this app. After following the developer’s suggestions, the app became inconsistent. It stopped showing night wake times and gave me the exact same reading for multiple consecutive days. Loved the app when I first used it. Now…not so much. I can get the same information excluding night wake up information from my Sleep app included with my Apple watch. ——- Original post- After spending 2 hours with Apple support only to have them recommend talking to the developers (I have and none of my messages have been seen or answered.) The problem is my 10 XR running IOS 15.1 phone battery usage. When I use my Apple Watch 6 running IOS 8.1, it shows battery usage between 63-74% in the morning with 6+ hours of onscreen usage. When I use my Apple Watch 3 running IOS 7.6.1, it uses 3%. Both are in manual mode. The pillow app is set to turn off the screen after 10 seconds. Apple support ran diagnostics and battery health and phone are fine. The only thing he thought could be causing the problem was that Pillow was not truly turning the screen off or putting it into lock screen. I have tried every fix to be found in the Apple Support and online communities with no success. I don’t want to have to use my older watch just to save my phone battery. Very frustrating!

  3. 1/5Unusable after 2 weeks!

I'll begin by saying that I became a premium user because I forgot to cancel the free trial, but I really liked some of the sleep aids and alarm sounds, so I figured I'd let it go this one time. A little over two weeks later, and I'm unable to start a sleep session from my Apple Watch or even edit my alarm on my phone. In fact, navigating to the alarm tab causes the app to freeze entirely. In my experience before the app became unusable, I'd also noticed it was moderately inaccurate in terms of awake/asleep detection and calculating sleep stages throughout a sleep session. On multiple occasions, I received notifications requesting me to report how I was feeling at the end of my sleep session ... despite having been awake for the past several hours. When reviewing sleep sessions, I'd notice long periods of time where the app detected I was awake throughout the night (I wasn't - I, thankfully, sleep pretty solidly through most nights) and would report REM sleep before passing through the first two sleep stages. Unless my sleep is much worse and weirder than it feels, this app clearly needs some optimization in those areas. Unfortunately, unless the issues with connecting to the Apple Watch or freezing when navigating to the only tab where it's possible to use the app for its main purpose (which is a huge flaw in this app's design because of the exact issue I'm having), I won't be able to experience any future improvements.

  4. 5/5Just what I need

I’ve been using the app for a couple years now, but it has definitely helped more recently with the new job I started about 6 months ago. I work 7 on 7 off overnights, so I change from day sleeping to night sleeping every week. This app is a godsend for not only helping me track my sleep, but also helps me wake up in a sleep phase that allows me to feel more rested. I love that I can set an alarm and it’ll calculate on screen how much sleep time I’ll get based on the current time (because I’m tired and one less thing to calculate is more helpful than I could’ve imagined) and it lets you pick a window of time so it can try to wake you at that ideal sleep phase. The other thing I love is that not only can you set an alarm for a timeframe, but you can also set one for duration of sleep. When I’m transitioning back to night sleep, I get off in the morning and need to only sleep a few hours or I won’t be able to sleep that night. So I can make an alarm for X hours and it’ll wake me when I’ve actually slept that amount of time not just X hours after hitting start (great for catnaps too so it doesn’t start counting time until you fall asleep). Honestly, I don’t use all the features the app has to offer, but just the little I do is all I need. The only thing that I don’t love is not being able to just start the alarm on my watch without also needing the phone app open, but I always have my phone charging by my bed anyway so not a huge deal I just forget sometimes and it’ll error on my watch until I open my phone. I definitely recommend trying this app!

  5. 5/5Provides fascinating information about yourself

Not merely how well you sleep and how it can vary according to factors you can record at bedtime. Also wether you snore or talk in your sleep, and what you say. The graphs plotting "sleep quality" versus "weight" are clinically significant only if you have weight-induced sleep problems, likely if your BMI is 35 or more. For the comparison to heart rate, an iWatch is best, since it monitors your wrist pulsations continuously and allows the app to compare it to the movement and audio data it monitors while under your pillow. This will expose a side of you that you knew nothing about, fascinating in itself, and may warn you of upcoming or ongoing health problems. A truly useful app. It is one of the first things I look at EVERY morning! It also provides detailed info on how your behaved during the night, indispensable for persons with rate or thutm problems. 🤜 With the “iWatch” the amount of info generated is fascinating, but …. When you don’t wear the watch you get nothing, whereas when I did not have the iWatch the app would monitor my sleep (but not heart) with the iPhone under the pillow. The problem seems to be that when I forget to put the Watch on after charging the battery, I also forget to put the iPhone under the pillow. I’ll work on that for a future update of this review. ¡Great app! Don’t go to sleep without it😂 Problem solved: now I have two Apple watches and there is always one fully charged. Oops! Recently driving home from a nearby town, during a 30-minute stretch of Interstate highway, Pillow said I was asleep!! No way!
