  1. 5/5Making Life Easier for a Chronic Illness Spoonie

I simply cannot rave about this app enough! I am relatively new to the chronic illness world and the very long list of meds I now have to keep track of gets so confusing so fast! This app has been the perfect solution to my problem because not only does it help me take meds on time, it’s also adorable and motivating so I don’t dread taking my meds anymore! The graphics are super cute and the rewards for remembering to take my meds are such a magical little touch to something that would otherwise be a chore. It also REALLY helps to get the notification calls because I cannot snooze or swipe that notification away as easily and it makes me stop and pull my attention towards my meds. I appreciate this app developer taking the time to make a cute and fun medication tracking app that doesn’t look like it was designed to only be used by older individuals. Pill Buddy really is the adorable motivational buddy I needed to help me through each days meds without forgetting.

  2. 4/5Great for reminders but the “cute” part could use some work…

I got this app to help me remember to take my meds every day, and while it totally helps and I’m now almost a month into consistently taking them every day, it hasn’t been the “cute” experience I expected. The personality settings are Loving, Positive, and Sarcastic, but all three have negative feeling reminders. I ended up using the first two before switching to Sarcastic because at least I was expecting a snarky comment from that personality. One of my reminders with the Loving personality said “You break my heart. Excuse me while I go sulk in a corner,” which feels histrionic as opposed to loving. I want to be encouraged in a positive way and not more guilty for still not taking the med, especially when said meds are to help with things like depression and anxiety. That might sound silly to some, but it can mess with the psyche of others. This app really does help so much with getting my meds and vitamins in every day and I will continue to use it! But if you’re new to using it, be prepared for those not-so-great feeling reminders being present with all three personalities.

  3. 5/5Cute & Helpful

I have been on meds my entire life for both physical and psych, I’ve used all sorts of tracking tools and this is by far the best I’ve tried. It’s customizable enough that I don’t truly feel “stuck” while still being simple. The layout is easy to navigate and I love checking in on my little dude/dudette. My only true grip about it is the current streak system. While checking off the meds as complete is love, I feel truly accomplished seeing my streak go up. Sadly, I have intense dissociation, so I occasionally forgot to actually check the boxes and if you don’t, your streak resets entirely. While this is a ME issue, and because it’s quite personal, I rated it 5stars, but find it distressing nonetheless. There are options for streak savers, but you can’t buy them and earning them is currently very rare. I did loose my streak today because I missed it by a few minutes, I was at 37 days. Seeing the number drop made my heart sink.

  4. 5/5Best app ever!!

This is the best app ever. I have had so much trouble remembering my medicine. I have to stay on a rigid plan because it has to be timed out to take up to 7 times daily. I take at least 32 pills a day. I have multiple chronic illnesses so it’s important that I take all of my medicine. Before this app, I was missing half of my medicine because I have cognitive issues and can’t remember anything without multiple or persistent reminders. Even setting an alarm didn’t work. I would mindlessly turn off the alarm and not remember it. Now I am taking my meds like I should because this app is very persistent! I love it. If it weren’t for this app, my meds wouldn’t be taken on time. I love the different personalities, too. I also love that it stays on my screen with a sad face until I take my medicine and mark it as taken. That sad face is very pitiful lol!

  5. 5/5Amazing!

If you take medications, you need this app! I don’t usually write reviews but this app has really helped me stay on top of my medications. It works great and it’s free! It definitely won’t let you forget to take your meds as long as you have notifications turned on. It’s also very motivating when you log that you took them every night. When I’m on temporary meds like antibiotics, steroids for bronchitis, etc., I often have different times I need to take them, and this is so much easier than trying to set a ton of alarms, write everything down, and then cross it off on the pill bottle. I love that you can choose different times, time frames, and days for specific meds. It makes life so much easier! Thank you so much for making this!
