   This app is absolutely wonderful! I’ve really wanted to learn how to play piano so badly, and I think I finally found my answers! I’m so thankful for this app. I had a piano teacher, but back then I didn’t have as much logic sense as I do now, so I didn’t quite work out. When school was canceled back in March because of the current pandemic, I was inspired even more to do something with the piano in my house. And quite frankly, I was extremely bored. I would always play a few songs such as Gymnopedie.1 and Raindrop prelude and things like that but I never really knew how to play the piano. I’ve had the desire to learn this beautiful instrument since a young age, but never learned it. Now I’m 13 and I think I can finally fulfill one of my dreams. I highly recommend this app to anyone who has a desire to start learning a new instrument. You can even start with no experience and learn so on. The only thing that I don’t really like is the amount of time you have to play for free. It’s only ten minutes when you can learn so much more with five extra minutes or maybe even ten. Also, it would be great if it could teach how to read sheet music for beginners. Other than that, this app really is great.

   I am so glad that I don’t have to pay for it and I am very excited to learn on my keyboard and it gives you the option to play on the app instead if you don’t have your own and I will say but it didn’t show me how to play some of the keys which made it very hard and stressful and I really like this game so I really recommend it and it’s perfect for people who want to play piano because I mean I do because I have a keyboard and I didn’t know if I could ever play so I am very glad for this game it’s an amazing learning app and it gives you the option to learn more I guess but when I do try to play in the scientist I couldn’t because the days were really hard for me but it it wouldn’t teach me the ways and it wouldn’t stop and put it say play this note but other than that it’s perfect. I would also recommend not getting simply piano if you want to have a free app because wir only teaches you one lesson until you HAVE to play for the other lessons :)

   I was purely a beginner starting on a digital piano and this app helped me get started. I was able to start learning quickly how to play chords and notes. I love that there are so many songs from traditional to modern. I also love that it initially starts building the ability to hear notes and get finger placement by putting the notes across the screen that correlate with where it is on the keyboard. I absolutely love this app and will definitely recommend this to others. I just My suggestions are: 1. For early levels, add in more muscle building, techniques for building stamina, and stretches to ensure proper hand health early. Finger placement, notes, and chords are great, it’s just building that foundation even further will help those learners have a more long standing enjoyment of playing the piano. 2. Start in lesson one having players start following along to sheet music. Such as Mary had a Little Lamb or something like that. Just to teach the basics of reading music along with knowing where they are. So for example, on the first of two songs, in a level set of lessons, should have music reading involved. Even if it shows the music reading one note at a time and then adds them together but still shows them on a musical bar.

4. 2/5Great but so challenging for multiple children to have a profile

   My family loves this application. I got it for my then seven year old daughter to try out. Now my five-year-old also wants to try. It seems so intuitive to me that we should be able to create multiple profiles in one application. I realized I had to pay more and get the family plan and so I did that. I assumed that with the family plan that we could create multiple profiles and have my kids toggle back and forth so they could use their profiles. But no! It turns out that even my five-year-old needs a specific account tied to a different email address. How can something be a family plan if I have to create a whole new account for a five year old. Then if they want to use the app they literally have to sign out and sign in again with another account. When you have a family with a small children what we actually need is to be able to go onto the application and toggle between the profiles, all tied to one parent account. I think this is pretty logical. My children love this and I will keep letting them use it but since I have purchased it I have found some of this very counterintuitive. I think there are many parents like me, with small children, who need a family plan tied to one account. In my history of using all other applications this is usually the way it works. I’ve never seen something so complicated as trying to create multiple accounts here as a family. I also wouldn’t mind using it myself. I’d like to pick up learning piano again. But to do that I need to create a third account, with a different email, which I don’t have. Maybe it’s time for whoever is developing this to me think the concept of family and how it would actually be used.

   I am using Yousician for Piano. I studied music some 25 years ago in school, and even went to college on a music scholarship for voice. Long story short, I changed majors and did not pursue music professionally, but still always wanted to properly learn to play piano. While I am sure there are purists who will say that this app is not a “proper” way to learn piano, there are a lot of benefits to starting here for the beginner. Namely: 1] Notation: If you are unfamiliar with music notation, you can learn it on this app with different options to take you from zero understanding to reading melodies. 2] Scrolling feature: I enjoy the scrolling feature, because you don’t have to turn pages and interrupt the playing. Also it forces you to keep playing even when you mess up 3] Music selection: The music selection is pretty enjoyable for me, and allows me the feeling of playing in a band without any commitment. Also the challenges and riffs of the day are fun ways to learn interesting bits of music in isolation 4] Gamification: I find the platform is enjoyable and I look forward to playing piano as if it were a game rather than intimidated because I don’t know enough. With Yousician you can start at a level, and the more you practice the more levels you pass. If you have the goal of achieving gold stars on all the songs, then you get the benefit of building up your piano chops with the encouragement of accomplishing a new level. I know there could be better options for teaching proper fingering, but if you’re just playing for shiggles then this is fine and wholesome fun.
