2/5Glitchy and Missing Key Features
I was excited to see Peloton put out a proper weight lifting app. I’ll start with the good: 1. The videos showing how to do the proper movements are good. 2. It has a good workout generation if you want to mix things up. Now for all of the issues: 1. There is no way to change default rest time. 2. You have to do a workout before it saves so you can’t pre-make a workout program. 3. The programs shown to you do not take into account the equipment you say you have. This is only used for self made workouts. 4. Arguably the biggest, the app is clunky and has spotty functionality. Of the workouts I have done so far I have seen jumpy screens at best to complete freezing and refusing to take data, but it also progresses the workout. So you go through the workout and it says you didn’t do 95% of the activities you did. 5. With 4 in mind, once the workout completes you cannot see the weights you submitted until AFTER it asks if you want to go correct them. Why would someone assign values are wrong before seeing them? And then if you don’t change them before seeing them, they are fully locked and there is no way to correct them. I have been using Gymaholic for the last year and I really took for granted how it just works. This isn’t the app maturity I would expect from Peloton. The only reason it isn’t 1 star is that I really think it can be salvaged. There looks to be good content on there, now they just need to make it so people can access it.

4/5Big fan of this expansion with a few suggestions
I have really been enjoying this as a supplement to the peloton workouts I have already been doing. I think this app is super useful especially if you’re on vacation or with time constraints to get an organized workout in. Sometimes I like to workout while listening to music or podcasts instead of taking instructor led classes. Plus it allows you to use a lot more gym equipment vs the dumbbells only that the regular peloton classes have. My suggestions are to make it more intuitive to be able to see your saved workouts. It was a little difficult for me to find at first. Also, for the workout demonstrations I think it would be more helpful to have written instructions in addition to the demo videos. But overall I really like this app and will be incorporating it into my fitness routine!

5/5Voice coaching needs work, maybe some better AI?
Hey love the app! As someone who struggles to stay committed to a workout routine this has helped immensely. Overall love the app but two main points of improvement that would make it top tier: 1. Can we get a better AI voice coach? Feel like I’m used to better AI voices in today’s day and age. This sounds like bad 2012 Siri. This would not only sound better but keep you engaged a bit more, the way peloton classes of old did. 2. Can we get an integration with AirPods or Apple Watch to skip to the next workout without having to go on my phone and swipe? I hate touching my phone during a workout. If I could double tap my headphones and have it slip that be awesome. But overall well worth the $1 a month (or $10 a month)!

3/5Great idea - more work needed
Great new concept of being able to select available gym equipment and either build (manual or AI) workouts. Some key things still missing, maybe expected for a new app, but would be nice to stream to external screen and workouts log in the main Peloton APP/tablet (bike/tred/row machines) but not external integrations (like Strava)? Biggest problem is Peloton is a little all over the map. You have the “all access app” which has classes for strength and is consistent with tablet (bike/tred/row machines) but but has no connection to Strength +, then you have “gym” only available on the “all access app”and not tablet or Strength + which has mostly unique classes but sometime overlap, then you have Strength + that is just not really connected with anything else but at least will sync/count your work effort in the main platform. Confused? Yeah so is everyone else. Feels like a bunch of separate development teams all working on their own stuff and not coordinating or connecting to each other.

4/5Love the Strength+ AI Coaching — Just a Few Tweaks Away from Perfect!
I’m really impressed with the Peloton Strength+ app for iPhone! The interface is clean and modern (the gray theme is sleek), and I love how it intelligently breaks exercises into targeted blocks using AI. The coaching is thoughtful, focusing on specific muscle groups with smart movement patterns, making my workouts feel intentional and effective. What really sets it apart is how it adapts sessions based on fatigue and recovery — it feels like having a personal trainer in my pocket. That said, I’d love to see more customization options in the “My Gym Equipment” section. I wish I could specify that I only have: • Dumbbells up to 30 lbs • A short Les Mills barbell with SmartPlates (up to 22 lbs total) • A hip thruster bar with just two 45 lb plates With these limitations, sometimes I get recommended movements that aren’t practical for my gear. Being able to input exact weights and types of bars would really help the AI tailor my workouts more accurately. Also, a small request — I’d love full-screen functionality for iPad to really take advantage of the larger display during workouts. All in all, Strength+ is a fantastic addition to the Peloton ecosystem. Just a few tweaks away from being absolutely perfect for home gym warriors like me!
