4/5Has everything I need!
As a daily TriMet commuter, I rely heavily on this app. The features are easy to access once you learn your way around, and the data is completely reliable. Can’t believe the developer created this for free; it’s brilliant! Unfortunately I haven’t been able to use it for a few weeks, and have been trying to reach the developer for help. Just bought a new iPhone 11 thinking the problem was my old phone, but still can’t get the app to work. The TriMet website is horrible to use (they don’t even have an app for tracking/trip planner) and I can’t wait to be able to use this is a app again. The other available TriMet apps are disappointing, too - don’t bother!

5/5Best bus app!
I’ve loved this app since I first downloaded it years ago. There were some problems but they fixed them. I swear I’m always discovering a new function and everything about this app is made with the user in mind. It has all kinds of functions and safely features that enhance your bus riding experience in my book. You can look at the bus you are on and the next stops to tell you when your bus will get there. You can set up favorites and look at them in advance for you next stop. You can also set even plan out a whole trip and look at all the stops you need at once, including alternate stops so you can see what bus you want to take. Might not be as simple as google maps but it actually gives you lots of options especially if you know where you’re going and how you want to get there. Plus the safety creature of the lights are super helpful once it’s dark out especially in winter! Helped me be seen and not get run over multiple times and the bus never misses me! All around the best features. Just explore it and you’ll find something that will work for you and you’ll use this app forever!

5/5A must-have app for regular Trimet riders
I’ve been using this app for over 10 years, and while there may be glitches from time to time (like there is with every other app I’ve ever used), it has been one of my most used and needed apps. For some reason I’m not aware of, Trimet has not developed their own app. For a city that relies so heavily on public transit this seems ridiculous to me so I very much appreciate that the developer has created and maintained this app for so long as a volunteer. I find the current Trimet website to be annoying to navigate except for looking up the standard schedules. Also, the majority of the low ratings on here either make no sense to me (the app is perfectly easy to navigate if you’re at all iPhone literate), or it’s clear people did not read the details about the app and want to complain about Trimet. To those people, take the time to read before you post an inaccurate review—this is a free service generated from Trimet’s online data and the app is not responsible for your complaints about Trimet. Kudos to the developer for doing this for so long and helping many Trimet riders.

4/5GREAT app unless want GPS off
I have used this app for years. I have found it to be excellent. Currently have two issues with it, which to my great surprise have never changed. (1) the app is set up so that it will show buses that have gone past the stop you were looking at, and you do not have the option to not see them. The best you can do is the minimal setting where it will only show buses that are 10 minutes past your stop. Since the entire point of the app is to reveal oncoming buses in order to catch them, showing buses that are past is beyond useless and simply frustrating. Why do they not amend it so that one at least has the option of not showing buses that I’ve gone past the stop being viewed, at all?! Utterly illogical. (2) GPS has about four options, but none of them include excluding the use of GPS entirely. One can choose minimally to have it only come on to track the bus when it is at least 1 mile away. But one cannot choose to not use it. This also is illogical. Once the bus is that close, it can often be seen with one’s eyes on approach anyway. I prefer to not have my battery drained away, pointlessly giving GPS data about a bunch of things that serves no practical immediate purpose. Since there is nothing I can do about where the bus is, simply knowing how many stops away it is is sufficient. The additional GPS data about specifically where it is does not help me because I am not a TriMet supervisor. Besides, every minute away, it says the buses is a stop away. So it makes some slight mistake mistakes but three minutes away is 3 to 4 stops if “due now” is denoting the upcoming stop or not. That right there tells me what the GPS data merely serves to duplicate. I should have the option of turning it off. Instead of GPS data being used when the bus is a mile away regardless of if I want it to be used or not. Because the app does not give me the freedom to turn these things off completely, and they serve no practical purpose being turned on, I will eventually switch to another app that allows me full control.

5/5Worth the learning curve
When I first opened this app I was overwhelmed by the amount of text and thought it would not be for me. Wrong! Once I got over the hump and bookmarked a few key stops, I realized this option-packed app is a bus riders’ dream. Even though I go many different places on transit, the commuter bookmarks are still handy, and the nearby stops feature is the most functional I’ve seen. I may have quibbles (like what I think red bus times should really be for), but overall this is a reliable app with lots of options to set up what works best for you with just a bit of effort at the beginning.

Siri won't attempt to read all the arrivals in this case, as there could be a lot as each bookmark can have many stops. - iOS 12 Siri Shortcuts: Use the "Add to Siri" menu item on the locate screen to set up a phrase to launch the app and locate nearby arrivals, routes or show a map. - WatchOS 5 Siri Shortcuts: Support for some Siri shortcuts on the watch app (trip planning is not supported from the watch). - WatchOS: Added complications support to launch watch app from a watch face. - iOS: Detours are shown for stops without arrivals. - All: : Bug fixes; modernized memory management. I found a place that can cause a hang; this was probably the real cause of the issue when getting routes. - iOS: Fonts. Now displays the time in larger text when the arrival time is more than an hour away. Uses Verdana where there are changing numbers - this looks better as the numbers are fixed width. Fixed text alignment issues. - All: Now displays the day of the week if arrival time is more than 12 hours away, instead of the date.

"body": "As a daily TriMet commuter, I rely heavily on this app. The features are easy to access once you learn your way around, and the data is completely reliable. Can’t believe the developer created this for free; it’s brilliant! Unfortunately I haven’t been able to use it for a few weeks, and have been trying to reach the developer for help. Just bought a new iPhone 11 thinking the problem was my old phone, but still can’t get the app to work. The TriMet website is horrible to use (they don’t even have an app for tracking/trip planner) and I can’t wait to be able to use this is a app again. The other available TriMet apps are disappointing, too - don’t bother!",

"body": "I’ve loved this app since I first downloaded it years ago. There were some problems but they fixed them. I swear I’m always discovering a new function and everything about this app is made with the user in mind. It has all kinds of functions and safely features that enhance your bus riding experience in my book. You can look at the bus you are on and the next stops to tell you when your bus will get there. You can set up favorites and look at them in advance for you next stop. You can also set even plan out a whole trip and look at all the stops you need at once, including alternate stops so you can see what bus you want to take. Might not be as simple as google maps but it actually gives you lots of options especially if you know where you’re going and how you want to get there. Plus the safety creature of the lights are super helpful once it’s dark out especially in winter! Helped me be seen and not get run over multiple times and the bus never misses me! All around the best features. Just explore it and you’ll find something that will work for you and you’ll use this app forever!",

"title": "A must-have app for regular Trimet riders",
"body": "I’ve been using this app for over 10 years, and while there may be glitches from time to time (like there is with every other app I’ve ever used), it has been one of my most used and needed apps. For some reason I’m not aware of, Trimet has not developed their own app. For a city that relies so heavily on public transit this seems ridiculous to me so I very much appreciate that the developer has created and maintained this app for so long as a volunteer. I find the current Trimet website to be annoying to navigate except for looking up the standard schedules. Also, the majority of the low ratings on here either make no sense to me (the app is perfectly easy to navigate if you’re at all iPhone literate), or it’s clear people did not read the details about the app and want to complain about Trimet. To those people, take the time to read before you post an inaccurate review—this is a free service generated from Trimet’s online data and the app is not responsible for your complaints about Trimet. Kudos to the developer for doing this for so long and helping many Trimet riders.",

"title": "GREAT app unless want GPS off",
"body": "I have used this app for years. I have found it to be excellent. Currently have two issues with it, which to my great surprise have never changed. (1) the app is set up so that it will show buses that have gone past the stop you were looking at, and you do not have the option to not see them. The best you can do is the minimal setting where it will only show buses that are 10 minutes past your stop. Since the entire point of the app is to reveal oncoming buses in order to catch them, showing buses that are past is beyond useless and simply frustrating. Why do they not amend it so that one at least has the option of not showing buses that I’ve gone past the stop being viewed, at all?! Utterly illogical. (2) GPS has about four options, but none of them include excluding the use of GPS entirely. One can choose minimally to have it only come on to track the bus when it is at least 1 mile away. But one cannot choose to not use it. This also is illogical. Once the bus is that close, it can often be seen with one’s eyes on approach anyway. I prefer to not have my battery drained away, pointlessly giving GPS data about a bunch of things that serves no practical immediate purpose. Since there is nothing I can do about where the bus is, simply knowing how many stops away it is is sufficient. The additional GPS data about specifically where it is does not help me because I am not a TriMet supervisor. Besides, every minute away, it says the buses is a stop away. So it makes some slight mistake mistakes but three minutes away is 3 to 4 stops if “due now” is denoting the upcoming stop or not. That right there tells me what the GPS data merely serves to duplicate. I should have the option of turning it off. Instead of GPS data being used when the bus is a mile away regardless of if I want it to be used or not. Because the app does not give me the freedom to turn these things off completely, and they serve no practical purpose being turned on, I will eventually switch to another app that allows me full control.",

"title": "Worth the learning curve",
"body": "When I first opened this app I was overwhelmed by the amount of text and thought it would not be for me. Wrong! Once I got over the hump and bookmarked a few key stops, I realized this option-packed app is a bus riders’ dream. Even though I go many different places on transit, the commuter bookmarks are still handy, and the nearby stops feature is the most functional I’ve seen. I may have quibbles (like what I think red bus times should really be for), but overall this is a reliable app with lots of options to set up what works best for you with just a bit of effort at the beginning.",
