5/5Love at first sight
I’ve been trying to find things to help with my PCOS since doctors always want to say the same thing. “Lose weight and take metformin”. Well, I decided to look into TCM, and finding that food is medicine especially when it comes to all the issues PCOS involves (now known as PMOS to help the underlying issues hopefully). Anyways, the biggest struggle for me is meal planning/menu/shopping.. because I’m so tired of not knowing what to fix with the ingredients that I know is for PCOS to help with inflammation and insulin resistance. This app has dinner, lunch, snacks and breakfast. A lot of the ingredients overlap too recipe to recipe (so you don’t have to buy 1000 things just for one recipe). Alongside, it takes in account for allergies, dietary preferences (both lifestyle, avoiding and foods you just don’t like). There’s even a grocery list and calorie tracker so you can do all three things at once instead of having to rely on multiple sources. I’m really hoping this app helps to some degree with my weightloss journey or at least with feeling physically better.

3/5Please fix the log feature
I love this app so far, it’s very insightful with what I’m eating and I love how it gives a score based on your meals. The biggest issue I’m running into so far is the logging your meal feature. I thought it was just scanning your meals, which was unfortunate since that’s hassle free and very quick and has set it aside from other apps that’s similar. However I’ve noticed when you’ll scan your meal/ drink, it will give the right description, but the calories protein and sugar will be way off. For example I scanned a protein Starbucks coffee drink a few times. It gave me two diff descriptions ( semi right.) but one states it was 200 calories , the second time said 450 calories? I even scanned the nutritional label… still wrong. It was only 150 calories for the whole bottle. On top of calories being wrong sugar and protein and carbs was way off. I was a little upset that it wasn’t working but I could live with typing in each individual meal. Well, that doesn’t work neither. I type it in, try to find a search that’s similar to what I’m eating, but even then the count is way off. Now I have to resort to looking up each meal that I’m eating from a different app just to log it into this one. It is a bit frustrating since that is the main feature I use from this app. I sent feedback to the developers so hopefully the can fix this problem.

5/5I never leave reviews, But…
I never leave reviews. In fact, I'm pretty sure this is my first one, but I felt like I needed to share my experience. I reached out to Sarah after learning that she sometimes provides subscriptions to people facing financial hardship. As a full-time college student who is currently unemployed, I wasn't sure what to expect, but she responded with so much kindness and generosity and gifted me a year of access. My fiancée and I have been trying to conceive for over a year, and I've been working on taking control of my health and learning more about my body. Living with PCOS can feel overwhelming at times, especially when you're trying to manage symptoms and make positive changes. I've only recently started using the app, so I can't speak to long-term results yet, but my first impression has been incredibly positive. The app is easy to navigate, informative, and feels like it was created by someone who truly understands the challenges of living with PCOS. What stands out to me most is Sarah's compassion. She didn't have to help me, but she did, and that kindness meant more than I can put into words. Thank you for creating this resource and for helping make it accessible to people who need it. I look forward to continuing my journey with PCOS Pals and would absolutely recommend giving it a try.

2/5Food scanner needs a major uphaul
The main reason I wanted to try this app was the food scanner. I saw potential in it. First thing it says is don’t scan the packagings barcode. Ok well why not? I feel if you can upload a database that can pull the information with the packaging, ingredients, calories, nutritional information, etc that will get you the best and most accurate information. Instead you want a picture of the front of the package of the food itself. Ok so I do that. I take a picture of the front of a zero calorie flavored water. First time I scan it says BAD. Possibly has sugar in it high glycemic index content. Uh it says zero sugar. So I scan again cause the first pic was blurry. It say OK zero sugar likely has additives that can still be harmful including carbs. Ok sure. I take a picture of the nutritional facts. It says GOOD. zero sugar zero carbs no additives a good water to add to a pcos diet. Like what the actual heck. Which one is it? It’s so confusing that it’s not even worth the money because in the end it’s probably going to tell me the wrong info and screw up my pcos more. Thanks but not thanks. Glad I only did the $4.99/week trial first. Let me know. If you update your scanner

3/5It’s okay
I loved it at first. Loved that you could scan foods and it would tell you what was good to have and what wasn’t. I originally downloaded the app because I have such a hard time finding the right recipes and finding stuff I love to eat while trying to manage inflammation and my weight and all the other issues associated with pcos/pmos. The meal planning sounded so good at first and loved there was new recipes added daily but WHY does everything have to be AI?! Any time I’ve ever used an AI recipe, it never comes out right. You can tell all the photos/recipes are AI because none of the photos match what you make (there’s an ingredient clearly in the photo, but no where in the recipe, and they look delicious in the photo but not after I make it) I can’t stand it because I’m just wasting food and money because I don’t like anything I make from this. There’s a few snacks and smoothies that are good but that’s about it. I know it’s cheaper and easier to use AI but I really want recipes that are actually made and tested by someone that knows what they’re doing.
