   Honestly I’m so so happy I found out about this app. I was researching pet insurances that will cover preexisting conditions and it basically doesn’t exist. Pawp does!!! They have an emergency fund that will cover a good chunk of the vet bill for my special needs dog if he needs to be hospitalized again. Each hospitalization costs around $5,000 and he’s already had 4. We were stressing about how we could possibly do it again if he needs it but Pawp has come to the rescue. We have our emergency fund if we ever need it! ALSO the 24/7 vet care is amazing. I’ve used it a few times. I had to use it today. Two of my five dogs got into a scuffle and one came out of it with a gash on her head. I sent a picture to a veterinarian in Pawp and they helped me come up with a home treatment plan and saved me tons of money and stress by not having to go to emergency for a tiny little head wound. They gave me peace of mind and a plan of action and I feel confident that everything is going to be okay. Every time I’ve needed help they’ve been there and provided great assistance. I HIGHLY recommend this service. Especially if you’re like me and use all 6 of those slots. My dogs get wild and I’m so glad to have vet care at my hands without spending hundreds to have an in office assessment unless it’s really needed. This app is a game changer and I’m so so so glad we have it.

2. 5/5Every pet owner NEEDS Pawp!

   I was a little skeptical of this app when I got it… but the day after I downloaded it and signed up for the service, I used the 24/7 chat service (on a Saturday) to ask a few questions about my cat’s sudden lethargic behavior. The vet, Dr. Cris, was almost immediately available. He instructed me to perform a few basic tests (check her gums, skin elasticity), and asked a few questions. After this, he was able to inform me that it was very likely just some expected lethargy following recent vaccines. This gave me SO much peace of mind, since my cat means the world to me. I hope that I don’t need to use this app a ton, but just because of this great first interaction I’m a customer for life! While I hope that I never need to use it, the $3000 emergency fund seems well worth it, too. I’m happy that they now have a new clause added in that the requirement to call them to get approval beforehand may be waved in dire circumstances. This is great because think about it: If your cat/dog is bleeding out or has some other immediate medical need, are you going to waste five minutes calling someone to verify it’s covered!?? Heck no!! You’re going to drive straight to the vet. Thanks for making this more sensible, Pawp. Update: Dr. Cris saved the day again. My cat had some weird eye issues that I was concerned about. I was about to spend $200 on a same day vet appointment, but I remembered I use this service so I set up care in the app and my fears were alleviated within minutes. He gave me a link to buy a product to help my cat with this type of routine issue moving forward and told me warning signs to watch out for.

   TLDR: Worry warts: if you’re on the fence, get the app. This app will save your heart from so much worry and give you your peace of mind back!! This app is worth the annual fee in just one care visit—and I felt that way even before having my first one-on-one chat with the doctor. If you’ve ever been up all night with a sick pup who can’t tell you what’s wrong—especially if you don’t have a lot of extra income—you probably know how it feels to be in the anxiety spiral of “is this an emergency or not??” You don’t want to pay the cost of ER if it’s just your own dramatics (my dog can look at me wrong and I’ll get worried he’s sick), you are not interested in an appointment for 2 weeks later at a regular vet (“what if they’re dead by then?!?!! Isn’t there anything tomorrow!!?”) , and the internet doesn’t ease any anxiety. Pawp just eliminated all of those stresses for me. Just the click through question and answer process made me feel better and empowered me with information. I talked to Dr. Ana afterwards just for more clarification and she gave me detailed instructions on how to help and monitor my pup. And the emergency fund buy-in also is incredible peace of mind for us worry warts. I’d rate this higher if I could. Thank you Pawp!!!!!!!!!

4. 5/5Thankful for the Emergency Coverage Plan!

   I’m so thankful I opted in to Pawp’s optional Emergency Coverage insurance plan for $19/month. After my dog experienced vomiting for 24 hours while refusing to eat or drink, she soon became lethargic and things spiraled a bit from there. Ultimately, a visit to the emergency veterinary hospital was warranted; there DemiDog received lab work & diagnostic imaging (X-ray & ultrasound) which determined she’d need an overnight admission to receive IV fluids and IV medications. After submitting everything online using the Pawp app and my iPhone (and I mean everything-the doctor’s admission H&P, lab results, imaging results, discharge summary report, and an itemized receipt for everything I paid for from the initial visit fee to prescription medications we left with), I was informed I would be receiving the full amount covered by the Emergency Coverage plan ($3,000) via electronic deposit. Does that cover the cost of close to 36 hours spent in doggie ICU after expensive labs and ultrasounds etc were performed? Not quite, but it almost does. I’m thankful for the reimbursement I’m due (I’ll update my review if something changes related to receiving the money). Thanks Pawp!

   I have had the emergency insurance for both my frenchies for 4 years now, haven’t had to use it until recently I did need vet assistance and it was convenient to be able to consult with a vet virtually, paid $35 to get a prescription consultation for my dogs (needed two separate appts though even though my dogs are same breed /weight & had same issue so that sucked) wanted a flea & tick prescription because saw over counter medications aren’t very helpful & still pretty pricy so figured I’d invest in prescribed medication. Vet was wonderful and quick. The prescription is for online pharmacy like Walmart or chewy online so if you want to pick up in person to avoid time like me you have to reach out to Pawp support via email which I don’t like as it takes time. Wish they had Pawp chat customer service or phone customer service. The first time I reached support via email heard within 3 hours but then when they stated they sent prescription & Costco pharmacy confirmed they didn’t and I responded back to their email now it’s been almost 24 hours and I’ve had to follow up since I am choosing in person pharmacy as I urgently need the prescription versus waiting for them to be shipped but if customer service takes time to respond defeats the purpose. I even wrote in subject pharmacy pick up in person request so they know the urgency. The app itself is also confusing to navigate on how to speak to a vet, very limited on settings you don’t know what email you are using for that app. It feels like they made it very limited & not easy to access in reaching out a vet or other features. But so far at least their insurance is reasonable for emergency insurance & it was very convenient to have a vet virtual appt option.
