1. 1/5Problems with downloads the freeze the app and CBS Subscription Model Screws Paying Subscribers

   I have seen many low star rated reviews that discuss problems with your app and downloads. Sorry to break it to you, your release today doesn’t fix the problem I encounter on my iPad. I have downloaded several items, when I attempt to play them back, after logging in the screen goes black and freezes. Sometimes it says that no items are download, other times there is a small band of light on one side of the screen. Upon restarting the iPad, I am often able to see and play my downloads - until I leave the app. Upon returning to the app, the cycle of black screen, no downloads etc returns until shutting down and restarting the iPad again. Please fix this issue. It is frustrating to pay for the app in addition to paying my cable provider for the service - and then to have a problem. Why is it that all CBS's competitors include streaming when you pay to subscribe to their channels. ABC, NBC, Fox, ESPN, Comedy Central, HBO, Showtime, etc....all include their online access as part of their subscription fee when you get their services from cable, satellite, cellular or other streaming services. NOT CBS. Let's charge you again. Some cellular services even exclude video streaming from your data limits of the channel is included within their app. This also is not the case with CBS. Fix your model to take care of the subscribers who already pay for your service. Otherwise, CBS will continue to be call Customers Been Screwed.

2. 1/5If you have cable tv with showtime, beware!. They try to trick you to pay even more!

   A couple of weeks I downloaded the app because according to them, I wouldn’t need to subscribe since i have showtime in cable tv package. So I proceeded to download the app and in the app it asked me to link my cable TV subscription. I have AT&T U-verse with all the premium included so I proceeded to link my subscription and I was able to enjoy it immediately. Fast forward to a month later my dad who in his 60’s who uses a lot of these apps was telling me that he can’t access Paramount+ because it’s asking to sign up for a plan so I proceeded to login onto the Paramount + app on my phone and indeed it was asking me if I if I want to watch some free episodes or choose a plan. Nowhere in the app would it let me go into my account and re-link my TV provider credentials. I had to use my laptop to login and from there select my account settings and re-link the account with my TV login credentials. That is ridiculous, why would you make it so hard for us to relink our account credentials but so easy to choose a plan and pay either annually as the default option or select monthly. I feel that they are trying to take advantage of us and make us pay when we already have access to it. Please update your app to make it easy for us to link our account with the TV provider credentials or better yet set it once and forget it. I don’t understand why do we need to do it every so often?

3. 3/5Needs a boost

   When writing this I'm not talking about the exclusives, company, or the people that are behind paramount I'm writing this to talk about the app as a whole. When using the mobile app it will just randomly freeze after a while of just letting it sit the app will just crash, the only way I can get the media player to work is by skipping back 10 seconds or closing the video. Randomly the UI will not respond forcing me to close and reopen the app. The buffering is so bad that it sits for a minute just to load 30 seconds, and this isnt a problem with the internet connection im using as ive used several different connections that all have a high speed. The constant interruptions, glitches, UI problems, and bad video quality is so bad that i cant recommend using the mobile app. In my experience the desktop version was stable enough to get through several episodes before the media player getting stuck in an endless buffer, and the console version lags when navigating the app but the video plays perfectly. If they put time into this app instead of just trying to compete with other platforms i honestly feel that paramount would be an amazing streaming platform but as of right now it just feels more corporate than anything with the constant rushed updates and new glitches every 2 seconds. Im giving this app 3 stars because the desktop and console versions are somewhat better and some exclusives are honestly worth watching (if the app doesnt crash constantly when trying to watch).

   I love some of the exclusive content on Paramount+, which is the only reason I maintain a subscription. However - this app is an absolute joke. This is the glitchiest and most unreliable app I have ever used. I can’t pinpoint when it changed, but recently there isn’t a single time I’ve been able to open this app without experiencing issues. It’s constantly “optimizing video playback” or the subtitles don’t appear even though they’re on, or there’s no sound, or todays issue is that during the first 5 seconds of an episode it’s counting down to auto start the next episode. It’s a guarantee that each time I open this app, I’ll have to force close and restart it, which resolves the issue about 50% of the time. It’s despicable that you’re taking subscription fees from consumers & allowing your service to continue functioning so poorly. It’s laughable that your “developer” responses are simply asking users to troubleshoot as if the problem lies with their equipment or environment. One of the first steps in troubleshooting issues is to determine if it’s a software issue or an issue with their equipment user’s environment. Reproducing the same issue across multiple machines and multiple environments is a strong indicator that the issue lies with the software. You have multiple people reporting the same issues over and over extended period of time, on different machines and different networks. How about instead of asking your subscribers to troubleshoot for free, YOU do some troubleshooting and solve the issues?

5. 3/5Works, but has glitches

   I have been using the app for a number of months, and it generally works well; however, there are a few problems that need to be addressed. 1) The most annoying is in the AppleTV device. We have both 3rd and 4th generation devices and they are both up to date. In news, the local news stations are supported when the application is first started. If the channel is changed, say to 24-hour news, it is not possible to go back to the local channel without unplugging the AppleTV device and plugging it in again causing it to reboot. 2) Also in the AppleTV device, if the local channel is active and the user leaves the application, it is not a given that when coming back to the app the local station will still be available 3) In the iPad application, although neither of the above problems are present. The handy channel guide is available to see the upcoming programming. However, if there is any interruption or freezing in the stream and the application is in full screen mode, when the stream resumes, the screen goes back to thumbnail mode and the application is frozen. To unfreeze the application, it is necessary to restart the application (pull up from the bottom, then swipe up to remove the application from active memory, then restart). Paramount needs to fix these bugs. Then it would be worth 5 starts.

   Spends 7.7 billion for ufc media rights and can't even give fans what they want. Full event replays are non existent for non numbered ufc events? I can only watch individual fights? I thought zuffa boxing was protected from this, but no apparently as of zuffa boxing 9 they are now doing the same thing with just individual fights. Paramount+ is trash.
