1. 3/5Substance, But No Service

   The app, so far as it relates to what I use it for, is wonderful. User friendly, no crashes, clever recommendations. My issue however lies with the service the viewer gets when there IS a problem. My account was hacked very recently. This person simply came in, changed my account email without my knowing, and went on with business as usual, thusly locking me out from my own account. I didn’t even notice until I tried to log in on a new device. Now, ordinarily, the custom when one tries to change their email on a subscription service is to send the original email some sort of confirmation. I received no such confirmation, nor was I notified any other way that this email had been changed. When I contacted STARZ for help, they sent me an automated message with a bunch of links to articles that could in no way solve my problem. I was forced instead to cancel my subscription. Since the company was no help in restoring my account to the proper address. That said, if you all are going to allow just anyone to change emails, perhaps you should implement security questions or other measures to better make sure people aren’t having their accounts hacked.

   I’ve had nothing but issues with this app. You would think that an app that’s from one of the bigger networks that make you pay to watch would at least do the basic function of playing content correctly. However, this app doesn’t. I start watching something and try to use the “minimize video” function and it closes it out completely instead. I pause a video to pick back up where I left off at a later time and it doesn’t save the place I left off at or even have it under the section where videos I’ve started watching but not finished it is supposed to be. It doesn’t even remember that I’ve started the video at all or even clicked on it before. Instead, I have to go search for it in the “search” section. When I finally find it, it makes me start from the beginning as if I’ve never watched it at all. In fact, the only time it remembers what video I’ve began watching and puts a it in the section that’s designated for resuming a previously started video and “saves my place” is when I’ve already finished a movie or show. It either does all of this or simply force closes the app entirely without letting me start watching a video at all. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it and/or restarted my phone multiple times in hopes it would finally work right with no luck. If all of this malfunctioning would finally stop, it would be a great app. The content is good. It’s just overshadowed by all of the app issues. Please, fix this mess of an app and make it worth the subscription fee.

3. 3/5Problems with logging in on the Apple TV or Apple devices using TV login

   OK on the STARZ app if you’re trying to login on the Apple TV and it’s not recognizing your TV provider credentials but also on the phone on the tablet is letting you login without your TV credentials for some crazy we start to reverse but yet it needs to be fixed to wear cause you can log in on the Apple TV cause I’m not dead on the phone on the tablet, but it didn’t ask for the TV. Somebody had to pull the app off added I’m gonna ask you do you want to use your Tv credential talent note and you login and accept that login but once they recognize that it’s logged in on the phone out of tablet it’s not excepting on the Apple TV or actually not accept them. I love them even though it’s letting you login without your TV connection on the phone on the tablet, but not the Apple TV so that needs to be fixed and it makes it a weird freeze when it brings you to that point for Directv dish or spectrum or get infinity and then when you try to go back on it and still freeze so it needs to be fixed on that but I was still able to watch my movie to the TV provider but I put the app extra just in case the DIRECTV stream app goes down so could be fixed to where if it’s signed in on the iPhone the tablet it’ll automatically sign in on the Apple TV it’ll recognize it cause that part of it is not working either

4. 3/5Content is amazing app is horrible?

   I’m under 40 so I watch everything on my phone through the app. I will watch a show on the STARZ app; I’m 15-minutes into an episode. Then I will have to pause it just to check something really quick. If I stay paused too long it totally clears the show out. When I’m done with what I’m doing and go back to the app—- I’ve been put back at the stars main page.🙄 Shockingly - there is NO quick access thumbnails of my recently viewed shows listed on the main page. So I have to scroll and search for my show again. Once I click on it. It starts the entire show episode over 🥴😳🙄sooooo I think.🥱 It’s actually playing the PREVIOUS episode i watched and it’s starting it from the beginning!!!😳😳. Like even Before the previews/ advertisements. Then it starts playing and in order to get to the next episode you have to fast forward all the way through that episode. the app makes the entire experience very unappealing to go back to watch a show when it puts you back At The beginning previous episode? It’s like why even bother. I quit my trial. Any company who this innovative and progressive in the content it provides but doesn’t bother putting any effort into the manner in which the content is delivered because they assume(Wrongly) that most are watching this on TV when the fact of the matter is statistically most Americans are watching this on the telephone. Therefore the app working is vital. Netflix knows that, HBO knows that, and so should STARZ.

5. 2/5Good shows, bad app.

   I’m quite shocked that 2021 is here and this app is still so god awful. Some of the shows they have are absolutely stellar, but the whole functionality of the app just kills it for me. On my iPhone, the app likes to forget where I left off, leaving me to scroll through and find my place. (Or sometimes browse through episodes because it doesn’t even remember what episode I left off on.) Scrolling, fast forwarding, and rewinding are also simple, yet difficult things to do because this app is garbage. Once an episode ends, it stops and doesn’t auto-play if I’m watching it while using other apps. You pay monthly for it yet you’re forced to watch ads before your content comes on. I also find it very strange that the app on iPhones only ever wants you to watch while connected to wifi, cause if you’re not then it’ll warn you that watching while using data might give you an extra charge on your phone bill. Super strange that this notification pops up every time I watch a show on my phone. When I first watched stars on my smart tv, it took me a hot minute to just figure out how to pause my show, cause pressing pause on my remote won’t pause it. You actually have to use the down button on the remote to go to the subtitle settings for the show to pause, which is so annoying. There’s also no option to skip the intros either, which is really just me being selfish, but honestly this app is so bad I might as well add that in there too. My two star rating is purely because some of the content is pretty good and some of my favorite shows are on Stars, but that’s honestly the only thing keeping it at that rating. Not worth the money to me.
