1. 5/5Broccoli frittata

   The egg and cheese part was good, unfortunately, the broccoli ruined it. I like broccoli, but in my particular frittata, the broccoli tasted almost burned. It didn’t appear to be burned, but it tasted like it had been burned. I had gotten some ketchup to eat with just the plain egg part and eat a bite of one of the parts that had broccoli in it. I finished my ketchup for the rest of the frittata then had the broccoli in it. I needed something to cover the taste of the broccoli. That’s disappointing because it’s not a huge serving and then about half of it had the taste of burned broccoli. It was small and the price was not. On the bright side, the egg part was very good. Also, I have noticed a trend at Panera that instead of using those little pastry bags they used to use to put your pastries in, they don’t use those anymore on pastries, and they just threw the frittata in the bag along with the receipt and the sticker and all kinds of stuff and I didn’t necessarily want that to touch my food. All the things in the bag besides my frittata, had been touched by how many people. I don’t really understand throwing stuff in a bag like that and then throwing other stuff in the bag too. I shouldn’t have to ask them to put it in a pastry bag to keep my food sanitized. I’m sure Panera is looking to save money, but I feel like they charge enough for their products to cover the cost of a little pastry bag.

2. 5/5Issue with Voiceover for disabled customers

   I had downloaded the app a while ago and just decided today to give it a look. For the most part the app is nicely put together. BUT, seems to be having some issues working with Voiceover. I am legally blind and use my IPhone for many things other then making calls. I love visiting the Panera store near my home and would love to use the app to place orders for pick-up, etc. but when I am looking at certain categories such as the Bakery” menu, there are about 18 pages worth of menu to view, but for some unknown reason, either the Panera app is not cooperating with the Voiceover accessibility feature or vice versa. I can only view the very top portion of the menu which list all of the Bagel products, but when it gets to the “Cookies and Brownies” heading, Voiceover will go right back to reading from the very top of the “Bakery” menu. This does NOT allow me to view any other portions of the menu. I am truly disappointed with this issue as it does not allow me the independence of being able to read the full menu without having to first turn off Voiceover and then hope I have a sighted individual that can then read the rest of the menu that either Voiceover would not read because of the app having problems or Voiceover just having issues. I would greatly appreciate the Panera developers contacting Apple Accessability Support and working to please hopefully figure out what the issue may be. I am quite certain that the entire visually impaired/totally blind communities who enjoy Panera’s fine food would be extremely happy. Thanks for reading my long review.

3. 5/5Amazing Food BUT….

   Fort Oglethorpe, GA location: The food is GREAT but I had some issues with the app as far as offering promo codes/coupons that the app doesn’t recognize and/or won’t accept. I’ve also had an issue with trying to speak with a manager when my food that I ordered for delivery had been sitting there for over an hour without being picked up/delivered as they were about to close. I was trying to get an answer on what will happen to my order if it’s not picked up and how to go about getting a refund. The young lady kept saying to come pick it up but I did not have my suv at home at that time and I had already paid for delivery/tip. It then took me 15 minutes to get a manager on the phone, and during that time 3 other people picked up the phone trying to tell me their manager was “too busy to take my call” and I replied that “I will wait on hold until she was no longer too busy” and finally 15 minutes later I spoke politely with the manager. Afterwards, my food finally arrived 2 hours after placing my order and it was ice cold but they did refund the sandwich, only…. However, I was shocked with the amount of times that I was told that the manager didn’t have time to deal with a paying customer, and I’m not just a customer that eats there every blue moon, I eat there about every other day spending almost $40 each time. So yeah, the entire ordeal put me off to the point that today is the first time I’ve ate at Panera since that night and that was a week ago. As for today, everything was on time, it was hot, and it tasted great. The delivery driver was fast, polite, and followed instructions perfectly! Hopefully the sketchy service and uncooperative attitudes were just a one time thing. Everyone has bad days and I’m sure it didn’t help when I was calling with a problem right before they were closing🤷🏻‍♀️!

4. 2/5Poorly designed app, up-to-date features missing..

   Whoever made this app an ‘editors choice’ either lacks knowledge or did not spend much time testing it. For example, when it comes to payment cards / gift cards connected to the app account, there is a ‘current balance’ but no account sheet showing purchase and resulting balance history. You need a sheet of paper to keep track of the accounting. Starbucks and Dunkin’ do that better. The GUI is cumbersome and looks convoluted and dated. ‘Profile Settings’ for example has 9 menu entries, e.g. ‘past orders’, ‘payment cards’ etc but you have to log into each of those settings separately. I kid you not: you click on ‘payment and gift cards’ and have to log in to check you balance. You go back and click on ‘past orders’ and you have to login again. You write down the charged amounts and go back to the ‘payment cards total’ and you have to login again. (I am an IT Project Manager and have seen my share of badly designed software, but this is way up there..) And even though a payment card is connected to the account, when I used it at the Panera Store register the total card balance was updated in the app, but the purchase was not listed - the person at the register suggested to go online and type in the receipt data and request to get it manually updated. Sorry you ‘editors choice’ award judges - other store apps are way ahead in user friendly design, speed, feature rich design and interactivity with smart devices.

5. 5/5Still among the best but losing a star

   Occasionally, the Panera app offers a discount on something else with a 10-second countdown. I enjoy these deals. However, when ordering a drink through the SIP Club (a great deal), the SIP Club redemption notification often obscures the button to accept the discount. This notification lasts about 5 seconds, leaving only 5 seconds to decide on the deal. To improve the user experience, consider reducing the discount offer’s size or the SIP Club notification’s duration so that they don’t overlap. I primarily encounter these offers in the morning, when they provide a discount on a bagel (which I usually take advantage of), and in the afternoon, when they offer a discount on a sweet item. Another issue is the lack of an app feedback mechanism. There’s no dedicated category for providing feedback within the app or on the Panera website. I recall seeing an app feedback button in previous versions, but it’s no longer present. Consequently, I’m left to use app reviews as a means of offering feedback.

   Horrible. Uninstalled after they were hacked. I'm now getting at minimum 3-4 spam calls a day because of this company and will probably end up changing my phone number. I don't even do business with them now due to this fiasco.

   App consistently closes ordering for breakfast 30 minutes before it says breakfast can't be ordered. App should correctly report when breakfast will be unavailable in the App for the kind of order I am currently placing.
