Novelwave: An Audiobook Player

Version 1.3.2 fixes an issue that prevented some audiobooks from being imported due to a failure to extract chapter titles.

This update brings a slight adjustment to the way rewind works. Skipping back 30 seconds will no longer send you to the previous chapter.

You can now see audiobook progress as a percentage in your library. We also added a simple Settings page so you can decide whether 30‑second rewind/fast‑forward should cross chapter boundaries.

Playback is now smoother and more responsive, with improved battery efficiency while listening.

You can now choose your preferred skip duration in Settings, and playback speed can go up to 6x for even quicker listening.

This update fixes an issue with playback skip duration not being set initially. It now defaults to 30 seconds, unless changed in the Settings page.

Version 2.0 is a complete rewrite of the implementation, with a focus on performance and reliability. Major issues of the previous versions, such as inconsistent progress tracking have been fixed, and the UI has been updated to improve the user experience.

Version 2.1.0 reintroduces light mode and adds a setting to manually set between light, dark and system default theming.

Version 2.2.0 brings the following improvements: - Added new 60-minute and 90-minute sleep timer options; - Improved the mini player UI; - Added release date, genre, composer, and description fields to Edit Audiobook, with automatic import extraction when available; - Updated the Settings screen (now My Profile) with dedicated What's New and Get in touch sections; - Added a What's New sheet on first launch to showcase the latest updates.

Version 2.3.0 brings the following improvements: - Added separate skip duration controls for rewind and fast-forward; - Improved metadata extraction to better detect and preserve audiobook information; - You can now create a new collection directly while moving multiple items; - You can now open the App Store review form from My Profile anytime and share what you enjoy or what could be better;

Version 2.4.0 brings the following improvements: - Added small and medium home screen widgets to quickly resume your currently listening audiobook. - Rewind and fast-forward can now continue into the previous or next file within the same audiobook. - Choose whether an audiobook should automatically start playing each time you open it. - Optionally rewind the audiobook slightly whenever playback pauses, so you never lose your place. - The chapters and bookmarks list now remembers your last selected tab, so you pick up exactly where you left off.

This version contains a potential fix for the blank widget state that some users experience, as well as better thermal and battery management.

Fix an issue with "Now Playing" controls on the lock screen not working randomly.

This update brings the following updates: - Playback can now pick back up automatically after Siri, a call, an alarm, or a timer interrupts your audiobook; - The player now shows your overall progress percentage along with the total time left in the audiobook; - Free up space with a new Settings option that scans for and removes leftover audiobook files from prior versions or interrupted deletes;

This version brings the following improvements: - Chapter list automatically scrolls to your current chapter; - Fix issue with Now Playing dismissing from the lock screen; - Fix issue with audiobook artwork not displaying in the widget when the home feed is clear/tinted; - Fix issue with widget still showing as "playing", even after the application has been closed;

This minor update fixes a bug where audiobooks that use video tracks for artworks could not be imported, as well as fixing the layout for the remaining duration on smaller devices.

Version 2.5.3 fixes widgets not syncing properly, updates the remaining listening duration to take account of playback speed, and updates the player view background based on the audiobook artwork.

This version removes the audiobook artwork blur background, due to issues with the light mode of the app.

Magic Tap gestures now work throughout the app for VoiceOver users. Improved accessibility support with enhanced screen reader labels and navigation gestures on all sheets.
