5/5Best audiobookshelf app out there
This app is absolutely fantastic. The developer is working on it actively and adding features way faster than I expected, and I’ve yet to run into any bugs even on the TestFlight versions. Additionally they are happy to take feedback and even added a niche feature that only I would ever want, saving me from coming up with a very convoluted solution to a problem. Seriously, you should use this app over anything else out there.

2/5Love the UI. App struggles to play your books correctly.
I downloaded this app bc the UI looks so much like the native Books app. UI-wise it’s perfect. It can handle multiple libraries seemlessly. However. I got tired of the app having issues playing my audio. The books would all of a sudden go silent. To make sure it wasn’t my files, I went to Safari to play them from the site, which always worked. That happened too often. Then I would get the “Error Loading Audio Player” which was the final straw for me. I switched to another app. Great UI but app needs work.

5/5Fantastic For Audiobookshelf Servers
I have run an Audiobookshelf server for family and friends for a few years now. And in that time I have tested out basically every major ABS client app out there including Prologue, ShelfPlayer, Plappa, SoundLeaf, and even Audiobookself’s own TestFlight beta. And while most of those other clients are fine, I’ve gotta say that thus far I have been extremely pleasantly surprised by how good AudioBooth is. I mean it was a breeze to log into my server and the GUI is great. I also love that you can actually view an ebook inside the app while simultaneously listening to the audiobook. This is great for when you have an audiobook that might have some type of accompanying visual content like in a PDF within the same file folder. That is something even the supposedly “more polished” apps like Plappa cannot do as of yet. But perhaps the most impressive thing about AudioBooth is how it’s absolutely free! So thank you very much to the dev. Keep up the great work!!

I have been listening to audiobooks for the past four or five years. I have used several different devices, including a PC, and from various sources. AudioBooth blows my mind with the staggering amount of options and the very professional interface. The fact that it also includes a CarPlay and Apple Watch app are just icing on the cake. Some of the features that are included are paid features on other apps. I highly recommend using AudioBooth and supporting the developer.

It's got almost all the features you'd want in an audiobook player, but with some small annoyances I was having a issue with sleep timer not going down and only just realized there is a setting in the app to reset the timer if you shake the phone, which is on by default for some reason and sensitive enough to get triggered by just lifting the phone up, thankfully you can disable it, second the audiobook covers don't get displayed when you aren't actively connected to the audiobook server even when the audiobook has been locally downloaded
