  1. 5/5Unique outstanding design app!

I would like to take a moment to talk about this very unique outstanding design 5 star app! Sometimes I have found it hard in my life time to express into words how great something is. This my friends is one of the moments the Developer of this app has truly Designed an app that makes you just say Wow ! Not only is the weather data right on for myself at the locations where I am at, but the way this Great Developer gives you the information makes the weather so special! The Developer has put a great deal of time and hard work into this unique software and it shows! I hope anyone who takes the time to read this will download this unique outstanding design app and give it a try. I thank the Developer for making the weather special again I truly appreciate and tip my Hat to Him. Yes the app cost money but what great something in your life that you want to keep doesn’t cost? 2. 4/5Love it (mostly)!

Been using this for a couple years now and I really like the way it displays information. Just what I want to know, mostly how I want it. However, it keeps getting less and less minimalist as the app develops. It used to just be one screen, and tapping the temperature would display things like wind speed, etc. Now, there are entire other panels with that information, and things like moon phase, etc. That's helpful, but I really wish it had retained the super minimalist feel. Also, sometimes the UI isn't as responsive as you'd like. Swiping the information at the bottom to switch between hourly and daily forecasts often takes multiple attempts, and that's a little annoying. Likewise, swiping through the panels to get to the info I want sometimes also takes a couple of tries to get it to register. Also, when you get a weather alert (severe storms, floods, etc), you can click it, but then you have to click again to see the actual NWS alert. I wish that it was just a single tap from getting the notification to reading the actual NWS alert. Not dealbreakers, and not a big deal, but I'd like to see updates to return to more minimalism, and I'd like to see some UX tweaks to make it a bit more responsive. All in all though, I love this app!

  3. 5/5Uniqueness is a Rarity

It’s very rare that an app comes along, gives us the weather with a weird quirk (like being an insulting little bot) and can make it fun. This app has a quirk and it’s that you can get positively unique with it in any sense of that word. And that’s a good thing. In your face graphic design, yet simple and concise. Not cluttered and certainly bold and shouty to compel you to look at it from the App Store page, and go “yes, I need this gracing my iPhone’s screen!” Not many Wx apps do this. Heck, not many apps, full stop, will do this, in this matter. For that matter of consistency though, as experience with an app will usually entail, one must ask: where’s the  WATCH app and complication set? I feel it’s a missing aspect, missing link, to really getting the most of this app, let alone on other Apple platforms. Perhaps it’s in the pipeline. Nevertheless one can wait; for what it is now though, it’s an app that gives you the weather with no need to make it boring. Why use anything mainstream? Just get this.

  4. 5/5Amazing interactive weather app, that makes checking weather a bit less “boring”

If you're looking for a very interactive weather app, that makes weather less boring... That has a clean modern design, which also follows Apple's/iOS design language... This is the App for you! I wish you could use the widgets without paying, but it is what it is, I guess. Other weather apps let you do that for free, and this one should too, even if it's just a basic free skin. Overall tho, I love the app and idea! I've showed it to multiple people that immediately loved it too, and wanted me to download it on their phone. They too were disappointed about having to pay for the widget aspect. I usually point them to the “boring weathers” widget, as it look very clean too, and is free. I just wish I could have that clean look from not boring weather. If I have the budget in the future… I will definitely be subscribing to it.

  5. 3/5Kind of boring?

I’ve used Not Boring apps for many years. I’m a fan of the aesthetics and tactility and the mission, but I’ve realized, slowly, that you can’t eat these things. I like changing the weather skins, spinning the number, and swiping through data like the inventory in Tomb Raider, but at the end of the day, this is just not a super functional app. The default view shows you the current temp in huge numbers while at the bottom you get a little slider that displays the low and high for the next 24 hours with some mild color coding to indicate conditions like rain. Getting any additional information requires you to tap, swipe, and fiddle with the app like a game or toy. Which was perhaps the intention of the makers, but it doesn’t make for a weather app that’s genuinely useful for everyday use, that allows you to take in substantive data at a glance and then move on with your day. Right now, it is neither a compelling weather tool nor a compelling weather toy. There is more potential here for it to be a great educational toy - here’s to hoping it evolves from here.
