4/5It’s lovely and good but….
As a devoted user of the Bible app, I must say that it offers an impressive array of features and resources that cater to both beginners and seasoned readers alike. The vast selection of translations, study plans, and devotionals make it an excellent companion for spiritual growth and exploration. The app’s user interface is sleek and intuitive, making navigation a breeze. I particularly appreciate the search function, which allows easy access to specific verses and chapters. The audio feature also adds a delightful touch, making it convenient for listening on the go. However, despite its many positives, the app does have one glaring issue that impacts user experience - it occasionally crashes and kicks me out of the app. This unexpected interruption can be frustrating, especially during moments of deep reflection and study. I sincerely hope the app developers address this bug in future updates to enhance the overall usability. Despite the occasional hiccups, I find the Bible app to be a valuable tool for my spiritual journey. Its wealth of content and easy-to-use interface make it a worthy choice for daily readings and in-depth biblical studies. I look forward to seeing the app improve and fulfill its full potential in the future. I don’t know if it’s just my phone doing this for it’s just something else.

Simply a blessing! Been using now for four years. I preach at a prison four days a week, then I take the same men out and we work together. And this app is my main tool. It enables me to save my scriptures that my pastor teaches on from sermons at my church and refreshes me as I put together sermons for Monday through Thursday. I like the search capability when I am building sermons as well. I spend time with many people that are un-churched and non-scriptural if you will, So this thing is extremely helpful. That doesn’t sound very technical because when you’re out in the street, life is not technical, It is spiritual. I would like for all the people involved in this project to know that you are blessing many many folks especially myself, and all the people whose lives I am blessed to be able to touch. I would like to thank you very very much and please continue your work in Jesus name.

5/5The Better Bible App Option
Being raised on the NIV, this app is really all I need. I can add other translations as I see fit, and I do not have to be inundated with little “gods” “gospel” anymore. YouVersion breeds Selfism. What’s wrong with God’s version being the only valid version? LOL, I digress. This app is well made and functions better than any other Bible app I’ve ever used. The search feature works far greater than YouVersion’s. I often felt as if YouVersion wouldn’t display the verse I was looking for on purpose, to spend more time on the app… while the same keywords I used to find a passage or verse would work immaculately in other apps and on Google, etc. NIV Bible App takes the win in my book. Best App for Bible studying I’ve used. Logos was not user friendly and had its bugs. YouVersion wants me to idolize false teachers lol. I just want Bible and this app is just that. Everything I want and nothing I don’t. Thanks for doing it right. Stay faithful! God bless!

2/5Open Study Tab blocks out text at bottom of page
The app is constantly, and I mean, constantly pushing you to login if you happen to open it up and you don’t have Internet access. That sort of show you what it’s all about if you ask me. Also, the Open Study Tab at the bottom of the page when using a phone to read, blocks out a good deal of text at the bottom of page and there seems no way to remove the “Open Study Tab.” And one more thing, I don’t know why they include all the footnotes throughout the various chapters. If once you tap on the footnote to open it up, there’s nothing really there to explain what that footnote is about or why it’s even there in the first place. Perhaps I am missing something here. I do enjoy the fact that the iPad version is very easy to read, with the capability of white letters on a black background. One thing that would really be nice though as a future improvement would be if one were able to open up separate small windows inside the app, if referring to another chapter or verse, for instance, if you’re in a Bible study group and wanted to look up something in a different chapter, but not completely close the book where you were originally at in the first place.

The Olive Tree bible app is superb. It’s highly customizable, you can have an entire library of bible versions, maps, devotionals, commentaries etc. and have two books open simultaneously. Read a passage in your favorite translation then look over at your favorite commentary or study notes to help attain a deeper understanding of the scriptures. Visually it looks identical to your paper bible, right down to the words of Jesus in red, (if you want, even that is customizable). You can highlight passages with any color you like, you can add notes and bookmark pages. Chain reference searches are all hyperlinked as well. No more holding four fingers between references, just tap the screen and a small window opens up with all the available links. Tap a link and read the verse then hit the back button and select another. When finished tap the main bible page and the small window disappears. The version I purchased came with the NIV translation pre-installed in addition to the translations that come with the free standard version, (King James and others). I added the NIV study notes and several other translations, many of which Olive Tree gives away for free or highly reduced prices from time to time. I now take my iPad to church and can jump to passages in about 3 or 4 seconds rather than the 20 to 30 it used to take me with a paper bible. I was a little worried about moving to an electronic version of the bible, but, I must say, It’s so much easier plus I have my entire library with me in case I want to check out a map or glance at the study notes. Try the free standard version of the Olive Tree app first and if you like it just start adding the translations you prefer one at a time.
