3/5Decent, but lacking.
I like it, But very geared towards violin, which is not a bad thing except if you are using it for Trombone. The two pieces available are quite good and challenging, and the piano following my playing works well and only a little glitchy so far. Really just want more pieces, if they fleshed out each instrument’s repertoire would make this a fantastic app.

4/5Heavy on romantic and violin
Overall, I enjoy this app as a wind player, but unfortunately, the repertoire is skewed heavily toward romantic and late classical composers, with an emphasis on violin. Maybe the developer is a violin player? My suggestion would be to add more Baroque pieces. There is some Bach, including the flute concerti but almost nothing for the recorder from the period. There is one recorder of Vivaldi piece, and it is fairly standard and simple. If you play violin, it’s a really cool app.

This app is great for practice, it makes us have fun with our instruments and get used to playing with someone, great way to practice! I find myself using MyPianist a lot, and whenever I can. Has LOTS of great pieces, can actually listen and try to be aligned with you on rhythm. —Love it!

5/5Love my accompanist
My late mother was a. Gifted, Curtis trainer pianist and organist and she knew all my foibles and could cover for me. After she passed away I never had such a compatible pianist —-until now. Kudos to My Pianist! The selections are great also. I wish you would do some selections to go along with the lower levels of violin and cello so my grandkids could practice with accompaniment , metronome, etc.

5/5Such a joy to play with as a professional violinist
Since COVID-19 I haven’t gotten to collaborate in person with people and have totally been missing the feeling of harmonies and rhythms surrounding me while I play. I have really enjoyed playing with this app - using it even to make recordings using multiple Zoom recorders. I find it works best when I put it on perform and the least sensitive setting and just repeat many many times. When I did run into an issue I contacted the developer and he emailed me back the same day to say he had fixed it already! So now the app recognizes slides and glissandos as part of the note. :) I recommend this app to other professionals and students. 💓💓💓
