1. 5/5When it works properly…

   I honestly really love this app - when it’s working properly. I even prefer it over streaming devices usually. HOWEVER, my entire library has been erased three times in the past couple of years. I finally got smart and screenshotted the list of songs I had, which was substantial. I then had to rebuild my library one by one. The other problem I am currently experiencing is that the player will play a song and then not just stop, but exit the program entirely. I’m not sure what to do about this.

   This app is great, but it needs to improve in a key aspects: 1. The workflow of getting your audio files form Dropbox: there are too many ways of accomplishing the same thing. You can import files, you can find them directly in Dropbox, then you can create playlists and add files from Dropbox or local files... you never know where your files are. 2. Navigating within an audio file: the rewind and forward buttons don’t do what they mean. The icons on those buttons universally mean they should skip a few seconds when long pressed. But these don’t, they move to the next audio file. The icons to skip to the previous or next song are different. 3. Missing Skip 15 Seconds buttons: key for long audio files like audiobooks, interviews, meetings, etc. Keep up the good work!

3. 2/5shady… be wary of this app.

   TL:DR; first time worked perfectly, then i paid for PRO, then it basically stopped doing all the things i needed (and had paid for). downloading the songs doesn’t work, cannot play the undownloaded songs over LTE, so basically if you’re connected to wifi 24/7 then i guess okay, but if you want to listen in the car or if your wifi is unreliable, find a different app. (also extremely shady that it worked no problem first time and then completely crapped out.) i downloaded some songs, was able to get them from dropbox to this app and also download them (my ultimate goal, meaning i could play them even in an area offline.) so a day or two later, i downloaded some more songs. this time, NO MATTER WHAT i did, which internet i connected to (and i have VERY high speed internet so speed is not the issue), i COULD NOT DOWNLOAD THEM. i mean i got them from dropbox to the app, but could not download them, thus defeating the purpose since i wanted to access them offline. (keep in mind that YES i did pay the $4.99 for PRO so it wasn’t that i had reached the file limit or anything.) FURTHERMORE… (and this is HUGE because the above could have been forgiven) you cannot play the songs (the ones that have not been downloaded) over LTE. so i can’t play any of my songs with this app in my car. (except for the ones i was able to successfully download on the very first day.) this is incredibly frustrating and if i could get a refund i would. i won’t go through all that hassle for $5 (which is what this company is obviously hoping for). i just want to say shame on you. i know $5 doesn’t seem like a lot but it is to some people. i think it’s set up so it works flawlessly the first time, then people pay for PRO, and then it stops working. i have never said this unironically before, but DO BETTER.

4. 5/5The best MP3 player for Dropbox

   Exactly what I was looking for! Where the app stores my MP3 files inside my cellphone; instead of Dropbox acting as a backup drive. The app doesn’t have to be connected to Dropbox like with the other MP3 player apps. Now I’m able to keep my Dropbox empty of any files. With the other MP3 players, when I emptied my Dropbox, I lost all my music after painstakingly creating four folders and saving the songs accordingly. With Musicbox app this was not a problem.

5. 4/5Great app with one annoying visual flaw

   I've really enjoyed using Musicbox so far. However, there's no way to adjust the font size, and that's a real usability issue. Many album and song titles are cut off mid-word or shown as ellipses, which makes it frustrating to navigate or even recognize what's playing, especially with longer filenames or detailed metadata. A simple option to scale the font size down (or allow smaller text for title views) would go a long way in making the app cleaner and more readable for users. Looking forward to future updates. Great potential here.
