  1. 1/5Unrealistic Pricing Model

First off, the original Mindly was a free app with a beautiful design, simple and intuitive functionality, and will be missed. I was using it until today when I realized functionality had been removed with the release of Mindly 2 and I couldn’t create any new maps. I downloaded Mindly 2 to give it a try but it’s entirely behind a paywall. I’m not averse to paying for superior apps and services, but not at 4 dollars a month or 25 dollars for a year to access a mind mapping app. Be more realistic about your pricing and consider a reasonable lifetime subscription offer. Honestly, I’d probably pay the 25 for a lifetime subscription. Otherwise, I’m settling for less impressive apps at realistic prices.

  2. 5/5Beautiful Fresh Interface

I love the changes made to the app. The interface is cleaner and everything feels easier and more fun to use. Also, I love the new animations, they’re so smooth and add a nice touch. :) There’s really no other mind mapping app like this, it’s very charming and fun to interact with. I’m hoping Mindly 2 will soon add iPad support, because I have to use it in a small iPhone sized window to prevent pixelation. I also hope the developers will consider an option to save locally on device (which may open up an option for a lifetime license??). Also, I would love to be able to choose a custom color for both the background and the text. Thanks for updating such a great app! It’s very inspiring to use!!

  3. 1/5Cash Grab

Their original app was just fine. Now they have this new supposedly-an-upgrade app, but it’s all behind a paywall - not even a free trial to see what’s what. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just the original app slapped with a subscription fee. This is awful. I had been using the original one to hold memories - childhood memories, friends, networks, things I’m worried I’ll forget and wanted to jot down in a mindscape-style format. The original app was so nice for that. But I’m going to have to move all of my work somewhere else now, because after years of perfectly-fine-awesome app, suddenly they brick the old one just to make you pay for what is almost certainly just the same thing.

  4. 1/5Bring back the original or add IPad support

The original app worked great. Optimized for fast input and easy to visually track additions and connections as you went. Since a lot of my maps can be complicated, even on my iPad it took up quite a bit of screen real estate. Now it’s a phone only version with no iPad support. They’ve made my go to quick entry mind-mapping app completely useless to me. The added “features” are mostly cosmetic. 1-star.

  5. 1/5Fewer features than the original

I’m scratching my head trying to figure out why the developer removed many features from the original app for version 2 , including the entire ipadOS support, and is also now charging for it ? I’m fine with paying for it but why, when it’s a step down from v1 which I relied on for years? If you have the original app, don’t delete it , because you can’t find it on the store anymore and version 2, as I mentioned , is bereft of features and the dev wants 35 dollars for a year subscription for it. My question is : why
