   I really enjoyed the Microsoft Office 365 word app for three reasons. The first reason is the editing tools that the app has to help one edited one’s word document. When writing a document it can be very hard to edit one’s own paper but when an editing tools is added it make the writing process more efficient and readable. The editing tools also give assistance that is far cheaper to requesting someone else to edited your document. The second reason Microsoft developers keep improving this app without increasing bugs that could affect one’s productivity and computer. When bug are not caught before launching the app it could cost up to hundred to get your computer or any electronic device that one may be using to get task done. I am excited about the future of this application that I can not wait until the next version of this application is available. The third reason why I like this application is the reliability of the application to deliver what it supposed to deliver. Quality products and accurate products save time and money. I feel that this product saves time and money it one understands all the functionality of each tab that this application has for one to write quality and accurate documents and flyers . I do wish that this application in the mobile application had be references tabs like the desktop and more college tabs such more templates that college students and business professionals are using virtually. For, example zoom component that will allow participants on their mobile phone and desktop to work together. Add more business features added component to calculator and more way to scan document to this application and edit the documents. For the most part this is a great application.

2. 2/5Word doesn’t save

   I downloaded this app to write on the go, because writing in my notes app was rather tiring and would lag often. At first, this app suited me well. But after awhile (like a couple weeks) it started being glitchy. I would tap the screen to go to a certain sentence and it’d bring me to the top (very annoying to have to scroll back down 40 pages) and sometimes when I would highlight a word it would highlight not where I selected. However, my biggest complaint is that is doesn’t save. I’ve checked and double checked that autosave is on, I’ve made sure I’ve connected it to my one drive, yet still it won’t save. The first time this happened it erased maybe 4 pages of progress. I thought it was my fault at first, maybe something had gone wrong on my end. I didn’t recall exiting the document before closing the app, maybe it’s on me. But then last night, after 3+ hours in which I wrote almost 4k words across 7 pages, I made sure it had said “saved” and made sure I closed the document before hand. When I woke up this morning to go back in, ALL my progress had been completely erased. It was massively disappointing, especially considering it was a rather important thing. Now I will have to redo do it, but it won’t be on this app. I hate to give word a bad review but this has now happened twice and erased a lot of progress on my end. Please fix this.

3. 3/5Some ISSUES!!

   In the fall, while traveling, despite saving to the cloud, and adding to it when I had WiFi access, a document disappeared! Initially, the first two of 3 pages were gone, and a day later, so was the third and any trace of it. No way that I could figure out to get any help from Microsoft. Recently, I have had MAJOR issues with Word on both my iPad and MacBook Air, about 25 pages of a long document mostly disappearing, again, despite auto saving to OneDrive. Bizarrely, the handful of footnotes and page numbers remained, and, very fortunately, I could still read them on the version on my iPad, though when I experimented and printed a few of these pages, again it was just footnotes and page numbers. The only workaround that I have figured out is to retype the missing pages (more than 20k words) on the laptop while looking at it on my iPad. A LOT of what should be unnecessary work to create a new document to which I will later copy and paste the beginning of the document that is still there, or at least was the last time I checked. (Microsoft tech support unusable and not worth the effort.) Meanwhile, of course, I have been subscribing for over three years through the App Store, so have paid more than $250, which should have more than covered the cost long ago. Between Apple and Microsoft, I feel lucky the app generally works reasonably well.

4. 5/5Don’t pay for this!!

   I have been paying for the different apps after getting this 365 Personal that was supposed to include them all, plus 1 TB of OneDrive. I did that because when I downloaded the OneDrive and Word apps my iPhone prompt me to pay for separate subscriptions. So I thought it was because they were meant to. After months, or probably more than a year I’ve been paying for them and finally realized I was not supposed to do so. The descriptions don’t explain it and the iPhone prompt you to pay. I got just one month worth of refund, but as I try to get my personal subscription back I’ve been having all kinds of issues. I ended up paying for a Basic subscription so I don’t lose all the data from OneDrive while this issue is resolved. So now, I paid for this Office Personal $6.99 and is not working and nowone can help me. I talked to Microsoft and they said they can’t help with subscriptions bought at Apple. In Apple they told to talk to Microsoft. It is infuriating!! I’ve lost so much time trying to solve this. I was supposed to get help from a Support Department this morning and they sent me an email saying they couldn’t reach me. I didn’t even get a text!!! And they want me to reschedule the call again!!! Don’t buy ANITHING from Microsoft in the Apple App Store if you want support from someone in case of an issue.

5. 3/5Review of Microsoft word

   Well I use Microsoft word at work, the mobile version is vastly inferior. If it were free, I probably couldn’t complain. But, if you want to get the capability of redlining documents and other important work-related actions, you have to purchase the subscription. This is where the trouble begins. Microsoft support is terrible. Several times a year the program won’t work and tells me I need a subscription. I’ve spent hours on the phone with Microsoft since I first purchased this program. There’s some sort of company disconnect between their accounting department and mobile services. This needs to be fixed. Regarding the applications performance, at best it’s OK. It tends to be slow, saving a document while you were working on it is not as straightforward as it should be, and if you want to dictate, you better proofread twice. Many of the desired editing features are not available in this mobile application. Formatting is next to impossible and many many other features are not available. While I don’t think you can expect 100% duplication, iPad cost more than most PCs, have ample memory, and should be capable of handling all of the commands necessary to do a competent job of preparing a word document. And you should not have to have an external keyboard with your iPad to perform the tasks. Bottom line, The program is livable, but not particularly likable.
