1. 3/5Terrible port to iOS

   I use Teams almost every day on my work PC. This iOS version is awful! I joined a meeting and found there’s no “focus on speaker” setting, so I was stuck in a gallery and couldn’t see the person talking. I accidentally made the video vanish and couldn’t restore the video view. It became an audio only meeting for me, with no ability to get the video back. Joining the meeting from a web-style link was impossible and errored out three times. Only a direct link from the original invite worked. That required me to find a different email. I was late to the meeting as a result. Even then, it required me to allow Teams to connect to other devices on my network—which I then turned off immediately. There’s no need for it to connect to anything but my router! Since it’s logged in to my work account, many features aren’t available if I have a meeting with people outside my organization. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! What’s the point, then, of using Teams—and all the fees that go with it—if features are blocked? I don’t know if Microsoft is intentionally diminishing the capabilities for iOS or if they’re just not competent at programming for Apple devices, but this was frustrating to use and I don’t recommend it.

   So, I had an interview slated for today, and the interviewers informed me that it’ll be conducted on Microsoft Teams. Given that I had not used Teams for a while, since most people in academia now just use Zoom (I certainly see why now), I figured that a logical thing to do before the meeting was to do a quick dry run and verify that everything on the Teams app works fine. During this dry run, everything looked good in Microsoft teams (even made sure I could share screen, use laser pointer, video and audio checks etc.). At the actual time slated for the interview though, as I tried to join the meeting, the Teams app froze on me. I then tried to close the software and reopen to see if that helps. While restarting the software enabled me join the meeting eventually, the app would not let me turn on my camera (given that this is an interview, of course it is expected that my camera should be on). It kept saying my camera was “in use by a different app”, when no other app except MS PowerPoint and Teams were open. After several attempts to fix the issue, I resorted to just doing the interview with my camera off. Word of advice, never use Microsoft teams for any important virtual meeting. Learn from my experience! Please!! To verify that this was not an issue with my computer, I then tried opening Zoom right after the meeting and of course my camera was working fine in Zoom. The amount of frustration I felt cannot even be explained. It felt like I worked hard preparing for the interview and it was all for nothing. Thanks for nothing, Teams.

   Microsoft teams is the worst app to use for meeting, family matters, and especially school. Teams is slow, buggy, and VERY annoying to use. Speaking as a student who uses this app around 7 hours a day, teams is incredibly buggy. The most notable bug has to be the camera. I have been marked absent multiple times just because team was being buggy and wasn’t showing my camera on. It gets very annoying when i have to constantly email my teacher(s) that I wasn’t absent and teams was just showing my camera off. Another huge thing wrong with this app has to be the fact that it’s very slow. In almost all my classes, my teacher(s) have to stop at least once a day just because teams is being slow and they can’t share their screens. Teams also likes to delete work in the class notebook which can be a very bad thing when I turn in my work and i get a 0 because it shows as blank. Finally, this app is just annoying to use. When you use the teams app on your phone, it glitches out so everyone on the computer can see your face super zoomed in. I was actually called out by a teacher for not paying attention when I was trying to move my phone away so it wouldn’t be so zoomed in. Another huge issue is that when you use this app on desktop and in a browser, you can only have 3 teams tabs open (this is a huge problem for me since one of them has to be my meeting) and you can’t do gallery view which is very annoying when it comes to breakout rooms. To sum up what has been stated, teams is slow, buggy, and super annoying to use. 0/5 and I would definitely recommend using google classroom.

   This app is best out of all video calling apps for working. I use this almost everyday, but there are things that are very frustrating. First of all, there is much lag between callers and sometimes it kicks us out of meetings. Also sometimes I can’t enter assignments when I need to, and it takes forever to send messages in the app or in the meeting chat. This is a BIG problem which is why it’s addressed first. Second of all, the assignments can be very confusing and difficult to manage. This should be organized better, so it is easier to find what to look for. This is also very confusing with returned assignment with chat. Third, there is a glitch with the blur camera setting. I like to have my camera on during meetings with blur. I turn this on during the middle of meetings. If I turn it off for some reason, I cannot enable it. This is very aggravating. Please fix this soon! I have some suggestions to maybe look at. Maybe make a personal agenda area-it would make life so much easier. Also organization would be very nice. Sometimes this app makes things very complicated and difficult to do simple things. Overall it’s a pretty good app, but has terrible problems that need to be fixed. edit: Ok so now I’m even more mad. So I can’t access assignments anymore through the team or activity I have to go all the way to the assignments tab. THIS IS SO ANNOYING. FIX THIS GLITCH. All of my co-workers agree I gave this 3 stars originally but now it’s down to a ONE!!!!! I hate it!

5. 2/5Underwhelming/frustrating user experience

   Another title for this review might be “Jack Of All Trades, Master Of None.” This product is really not best in class for any product category. It’s not the best calendar app (Google’s is much better and easier to share with others), it’s not the best video chat app (Zoom is and will be the industry leader, at least until maybe Microsoft buys them out and buries them as they did with Skype), it’s not the best messaging app (Jabber or even wonky Slack are far better). It does do a fair job of integrating all these functions, but at a price. Teams really bogs down your system. For me, it’s at a point where I just never leave teams up and running. I only open it when someone else insists on having a Teams meeting. And it doesn’t play nice with other manufacturers’ email software such as Google or Yahoo Mail. The whole point of Teams is to force you to use Microsoft’s other products. I also have concerns over privacy issues with Teams and Microsoft products in general. Teams has all sorts of nifty analytics on user behavior it can run for the owners of Teams software (i.e. the companies you work for). Unfortunately, as long as Microsoft continues to have corporate America in its back pocket, I don’t see any end in sight for this product soon.

   "Enter your Current password", "We've seen that password too many times" what do you mean? it's the same exact password that I've used and set onto the account, what do you want me to do? fool around? and what do you mean: "choose something harder to guess" it's LITERALLY the password I've chosen and set onto this account???

   Cannot login on my phone. Company says it issues not a them issue but a teams issue. The help info says it is a company issue. Can't work. Resolution would be awesome.
