5/5I am happier
I have been using this app since it was in Beta, and I have to say I genuinely feel happier. It isn’t a magic bullet or anything - you have to use the app regularly, add memories, and use the recall function, etc. With that said, ever since I have been tracking my activities I am much more cognizant of what activities make me happy. Now I purposely seek to include those things in my day. The app is also very visually striking.

5/5Matter is a must-have app for leading a happier life
With the latest update I can finally rate my emotions and officially build up my memory bank of positive emotions! Many thanks to the Matter team that tackled the memory creation crash quickly in response to user feedback. Now I can see what the app is all about! The Matter app has made me think more about what I will do each day to ensure I feel a little bit happier. Too often I find myself chasing down to-do lists or foregoing my own happiness needs to accommodate others. And then I’m just depleted at the end of the day (despite getting 8+ hours sleep!) When we live in a culture driven toward productivity, our worth feels tied to being busy. Then it’s hard to take the time to do something just because it makes us feel good. Matter has made me aware that my happiness is a worthy endeavor. It taught me that slowing down to actually experience good moments and reflect on life builds neuroplasticity, which makes us smarter, more empathetic, and more creative. Happiness makes us more likely to say and do kind things for others. It also apparently leads to a longer, healthier life. And the Matter app encourages me be happier by encouraging me to create positive memories every day with its beautiful UI and smart tips. I highly recommend others try it, and consider adding “create a positive memory” to their to-do lists. It’s a worthy endeavor!

5/5Enjoyable, Lots of Potential
Currently I like the app, but I can see it going a lot further! I used to only use the Apple Health app to document my emotions but I like the idea of having a gallery of positive experiences to look back on and reflect what I have. For the user, I don’t find this to be a huge chore to use. Finding photos for all positive events may be hard if you’re someone like me who doesn’t snap a picture of everything, but for the important ones I don’t think this is difficult. The UI is pleasant to look at and appealing in a futuristic way. The app icon is pleasant subtle and won’t give itself away as a type of emotion tracker if don’t want other people tempted to look through it. My suggestions would be - More explanation of what joyalities are — I have a friend who appears in 27 of my memories and I thought that would be enough by now but haven’t seen anything and not sure when to expect when I will - Testosterone is a healthy chemical to keep in balance but I don’t want to document anything that would relate to that hormone, any way to turn it off? Maybe a silly ask but if this is available for minors that could be a little odd to suggest as a goal and such - Stats option for a line graph of hormones over time - Map of “happy places”. There already is the option to add a location, this would just be a cool feature - Perhaps this is already implemented but maybe having the brain chart have an animation that grows in intensity as you add more emotions I’m looking forward to seeing where the developers take this app and I was honestly surprised to see only 27 reviews. Normally I don’t write reviews but for this I thought I’d go out of my way to contribute my experience and thoughts.

5/5I LITERALLY LOVE THIS SO MUCH
Im so serious i never leave reviews but this app is so amazing. I wanna go into neuroscience when im older so i looked up “neuroscience” on the app store and clicked on this one. Downloaded and its genuinely the best app ive ever gotten. NO IN-APP PURCHASES AND YET ITS SO MODERN. I literally love it so much i sent it to 3 diff people and made them get it(i literally sound like an ad right now but im being so fr im a real person). You pick a photo that is like a good memory and rate each “feel-good” chemical in ur brain(like which one was active during it) and then at the end of the week it gives you like a rewind of all the happy places and memories you have and omg its just such an amazing concept i love it so much. THANK YOU🙏🙏🙏🙏 PLEASE KEEP THIS APP FREE BECAUSE ITS LITERALLY MY FAVORITE

4/5It’s got potential
Hey, I think this app is a good idea and I like the intention it has. Especially the music I like the music part. But I have to be honest, the thing I will say I hate about the app “the sexual desire” first of all things like that does not cause joy for me. It only brings back bad memories and causes anger and stress for me. Things like that are not pleasant only agony. I wish that opinion would either be removed from file by the user’s own choice or have it shaded out. If this kind of information is going to continue to cause negative feelings I might have to delete this app and find another. Another thing, it would be nice if users can add videos instead of just pictures. Since I make animated videos I would love to record it in my memory bank since those do cause joy for me. This is only a suggestion. But I like the idea and feel this app can be beneficial.
