  1. 4/5Smoola and ad problems

I’ve had this app for at least 6 years and I loved playing it when I first downloaded it. I don’t really mind all the changes that made the app look different, but I’m having problems that I never had in the past. When I played this app on my iPad, I watched videos to get at least 75 smoola and it worked. Then recently when I started to do it again, it worked but then I would get ads that didn’t get me any smoola. When I first started having this problem, I thought that there might be a glitch in the app. So I tried to buy a song from the Songbook because I thought I would get the song I wanted even though I didn’t have the right amount of smoola. But when I tapped on the song to buy it, it said that I didn’t have the right amount even though I watched videos to earn smoola. Sometimes I would wait to get more smoola and then when I press the button to earn 5 smoola, it would say there I should come back later to watch more videos. Then I go to use another app to occupy myself. Then when I go back to the app, I would press the same button again, but then I would get an ad that doesn’t get me any smoola. I also wish that I wouldn’t have to watch videos after playing songs and I wouldn’t have to watch videos to play free songs even though I already played the song I want to play again. Those problems seem to bug me but overall this app is pretty great.

  2. 3/5Apple, and Other Devices

Cloud Nineteen here again; the problems on apple are when you look at songs in previews, it doesn’t show the actual gameplay, and like others have said before, the latency, or the notes don’t sync when you hit them. They are really off, and it makes you lose your combo/streak when you try to hit them. You also Have to spend coins to listen to your own songs, and you can’t even listen to your OWN songs for more than 30 seconds; it just brings you back to the menu screen after listening to it for 30 seconds just like how it does this for every other song in the game. Here are the problems on every device; please stop cutting off the songs when we listen to them in the previews; it’s very annoying, plus, most of the songs we listen to on previews are songs we probably can’t even play in the first place since it requires so much smoola for just one song, so all we can do is just listen to 30 seconds of a song because of it. Another problem on every device is that you can play bot your levels; you can just press play on one of your songs, and it will count it as a play when you look into your level again, and, you can open someone’s song in “Composer,” not even edit anything, and still publish it because you can just add one note, delete it, and then publish it, and it will work; also, for some reason, starting on November 25th, you’re not able to preview and publish your levels anymore; it keeps saying that there is a problem, and to please try again.

  3. 5/5I am going to have to amend my last.

This has always been my favorite app and I have always given it 5 stars except this last time because there was a financial problem & I was irritated. But I am back again & again even though I gave it 1 once does not change the fact thatI love this app. A little background; I love the piano, the sound of it the music, it’s my favorite instrument of music. I have never been able to play tho I tried but could not afford the lessons nor could I afford to use the time. I was working 2-3 jobs & going to school. Now I have Parkinsons which makes it difficult to play however I do & can use this app. I also love, love and love classical music plus it was my minor in school so I am familiar with most of the pieces I play. But I do have a request: I love the reviews you give us tho all the other #’s with the XP on it I don’t understand. So my request is if you could please put the length of the piece on each one. I don’t mean anything like the number of note ct or anything really technical. Just maybe an approxtime time it would take to play it. Because sometimes of time constraints or looking at how much time I can spend on anyrhing that is not necessary but enjoyable, & because once I start a piece I personally cannot just stop because I have no time & it appears that the piece is not ending soon. So if you could add that I’ll bet I’m not the only one to whom this would be important. So if you could think abt that & consider it, I’d be most grareful. Thank you Candy

  4. 4/5Nice piano app but no rewind feature

I'm giving this app 4 stars for a couple of reasons. It is very hard to contact this company to offer suggestions and many of the groups and featured people remind me of highschool teenagers because of their clique-ish behavior. I don't care about popularity or being liked. I like this app because the piano is beautiful and the song selection is excellent. However in the karaoke app you can pause and rewind to re-record. That same functionality should be available on the piano version since some of the singers are now featured on it. Although I don't use the karaoke song option because I don't like the style of 'play', and some of the voices are odd, there should be defined half and whole steps when using the freestyle mode. It is almost impossible to run a true scale with all the autotune going on. I'm not sure if this is a developer issue due to screen size and coding, but especially on duets with male and female voices a wider array of octaves should be allowed to better harmonize the recording. It would be cool if you could slide or swipe the screen left or right to denote going up or down octaves during the freeplay section since no notes are actually falling across the screen. It would also be nice if the song info would tell you the rhythm (ie speed of the music) before you attempt the song. It's hard to play different versions of the same song at different speeds and know which one you wanted to play again just by looking at the title. The composer part allows you to change the metronome, but none of that information is conveyed to the casual player.

  5. 4/5Composer Tool Suggestions

Other than the constant ads like you’ve probably seen complaints about in every other review, I think this app is really enjoyable, as a composer. I’ve had a lot of fun with making piano arrangements of my favorite songs that are not yet in the game’s song library. However, I think there are a few tools that would be really helpful if they were added to the game. One of them is the ability to make tempo changes within the song. Right now you can only set a tempo for the entire song, which makes it hard to arrange songs that may start slow but speed up further into the song. Secondly, I think it would also be great if there was an option to have multiple meter changes within the song. Thirdly, something I thought would be good for stylistic purposes is being able to make a glissando be one motion or something like that instead of having to put every individual note of the glissando, which can get a bit difficult and tiring for the player to play at the right speed to make it sound right in the context of the song. Additionally, it’d be nice if I could work on more than one song at a time. Also, I like that there’s a button to jump down to the beginning of the song, but I also think there should be one to jump up to the end of what you’ve worked on so far. There have been so many times when I play through my song, then accidentally hit the “jump to beginning” button and have had to scroll all the way back up. Finally, there have been multiple instances where I wished there were one or two more lower octaves below what there is now. Anyway, I don’t know if this will get read by the developers or not, but it’s worth a shot. Overall I still really enjoy the game. 4/5 stars!
