1. 5/5Great Piano Fun

   I was on Instagram, and I found a very friendly man who looked like an orchestra conductor talking to the camera. I had volume on my phone turned way down, so I raised the volume to hear what this conductor was saying. He was telling the Instagram audience they could learn something by only practicing five minutes a day. I had to learn more; so I kept on listening, to find out exactly what I would learn. I discovered this was an advertisement for learning the piano. My father was quite an accomplished pianist, so I thought this would be a nice, private way to learn piano, just like my father. In my younger years my father gave me some beginning lessons, and I read a beginning book on music basics. So I managed to get through some of the starting questions the app started me on. To find out exactly which level I could start at. Now I’ve started on my piano lessons. I’m very excited to start practicing on some of the pianos, keyboards, and organs my father always practiced on. I shall report back after some months from now, to report on the progress I’ve made. Practicing, and learn piano on Hello Piano app.

   I love this app and as you go it gets better because you know more. I understand that you have to pay for the other to things or you can do the week free but do not feel it is worth the cost. I did the free trial and then the week ended and it was normal but in doing it really was not worth it. Over all the app teaches a lot, if you never play piano studied and notes then this is great for you too. One day you can wake up not even knowing the notes or anything, but then you go on this app and you can learn it and you keep playing the games you actually can get really really good at the piano. So take it from me this app is great and will help learn if you go on it consistently.

3. 5/5Haters Are Lying!

   I don’t have a explanation for it. But I do have a review! :D This app still lets you learn a lot of piano even if you don’t buy the free trial! Which is amazing because I do piano lessons and I like to review some piano apps! And so far, this has been the best piano app I have used! I am training to learn the song Fur Elise and this piano app taught me the first part of Fur Elise which is amazing. But I still recommend piano lessons more then the app. But if you would rather pay less then go right ahead and get this app! This is the longest review I have ever made before because, it’s the best app for piano I have used before! :D go ahead and buy this app now! Hopefully you follow my advice. But if you get stuck in the Free Trial thing there is a little arrow that looks like this > it’s white so it blends in with the stars . So if you can’t get past that that’s how to get past it. If anyone was confused about notes the more you learn the more you remember! The notes might look confusing at first but after you see what notes they are you will start to remember all of the times you practice! Practice doesn’t make perfect but it does make good! Give it a try and if it isn’t good for you just do piano lessons it’s always an option as long as the teacher teaches the season!

   I’ve been bombarded with ads for this for a while now and so I finally decided to get the game, since I play piano irl and on other piano apps. The only thing is you can’t do anything with this app unless you do the free trial, or obviously pay for it. I’ve had bad experiences with free trials before (getting ripped off and forced to pay) so I’m not going to risk that just for a week. And I know that you can cancel whenever, but again, I’m not going to risk that because every app that has forced me to pay said the same exact thing. Also if I were to pay for it, it wouldn’t be a good deal, as the total for paying for it for a month would be 30-32 dollars. This is coming from a person who’s been playing piano since I was around 7, and the usual cost for a month of piano lessons is around $25, and it would only go higher if you wanted a really professional teacher. Then it would cost around 30 or higher, because it is worth it to learn actual piano playing. From what I’ve seen so far, this app doesn’t offer actual teaching. And I don’t mean playing notes and leading rhythm, it does seem to offer that, but it doesn’t offer the technique you would use in your hands for actual playing. Now if you don’t want to pursue an actual career in playing piano, by all means get this app and have fun playing fun songs, because that’s what it offers, but if you don’t want to waste money on a game you would not be getting a lot of skill from, try finding a different game that doesn’t make you pay to play. If I would ever buy this game, it would only be for fun to play when I’m not doing actual lessons, and I wouldn’t want to pay $30 a month for it. Sorry if I was rude in any way I just wanted to get my point across. 👍

5. 1/5A really terrible way to teach piano, and the generalization of music too.

   The app does its best at only teaching rhythm recognition and clef reading (but oh boy, no alto tenor or soprano clef for you - you just aren’t deserving enough for them I guess!). The music theory section is abysmal. First off, it introduces chords/triads and states that they are major or minor (LITERALLY STATES THAT MAJOR AND MINOR MODES ARE THE ONLY MODES) and then introduces inversions correctly (yay🎉) but then goes on to discuss seventh chords and COMPLETELY over-simplifies seventh chords as only being the dominant seventh (without even calling it a dominant seventh, they just call it a seventh). It also briefly explains time signatures and doesn’t even go over anything other that 3/4 and 4/4. Note values are brutally over-simplified and ties aren’t even explained. There are no double-dotted notes, or tripletized notes explained. Oh yeah, and it calls the treble clef the violin key and the bass clef the bass key (instead of calling the treble clef the g-clef, and the bass clef the f-clef. It teaches accidentals i.e. sharps and flats (but for some god-forsaken reason flats are a premium feature) and doesn’t explain enharmonics really. Also no explanation of double-sharps or double-flats. The actual piano lesson (or moreover, game) is unresponsive and scales terribly for smaller devices. It’s really easy to accidentally hit black keys and neighboring white keys. A lot of song’s rhythms are rounded out or the songs are transposed to different keys than the original. Please, don’t spend money on the subscription. Not worth it by any means. Use the app to learn how to read sheet music and then dump it ASAP. Waste of space (and money).
