   Honestly, I’m a movie buff and love re-watching the same movies with new perspectives. Sometimes it's hard to remember all of my favorite movies or tv shows. I use this app to save shows that I've watched, want to watch, or rewatch. I love the grouping of recommendations based on your saves, for example, “my favorite comedy shows and movies.” I tend to do this on my own time, but I think it could go further, like when I'm in the mood for empowering movies with a strong female lead in business. It could, for example, recommend The Devil Wears Prada and The Intern, two of my favorites. Or if I want to watch movies based in Paris, it could group recommend Pixar's Ratatouille with another Paris-based movie. Or even groupings based on classic chick flicks. I understand this would take a lot more time, and you would probably would to have someone physically creating collections, as opposed to Ai like I think it is now. But hey, if you're interested in I’m all on board. Overall I love this app. It’s free, and if you watch movies or tv shows, I don’t see any reason not to use it!

2. 2/5Hit or Miss

   Some of the features on this app are pretty good. I especially like the option to ask specific questions and get recommendations from other users. But when it comes to the “today” page, it’s a complete hit or miss. Some days they’ll only show me 3 or 4 movies, and none of them will be even close to things I like (which is super frustrating because you have to wait a full 24 hours for new ones.) But other days I’ll get 6 or 7 that are great. It’s also annoying that they ask me to choose from podcasts every day, even though I clearly don’t like podcasts, as I haven’t saved a single one. Yet they will show me literally zero books, even though I have multiple lists full of novels. Basically, the user recommendation feature is great, but the algorithm is mediocre at best. Beyond that, this app also just has a bunch of little problems that altogether make it annoying to use. The biggest one is that if your post exceeds a certain character limit, it just shows a “...” but there’s no way to view the full thing. You also can’t comment on a move or book unless you’ve liked it, and it sometimes crashes. It’s also pretty stupid that they mark it as 12+ but if you aren’t at least 13 you can’t even make an account, this didn’t effect me but it did effect my brother and that’s just dumb. Among other smaller problems. Just needs some updating for sure.

3. 2/5Nice Design But Completely Misses the Mark

   Looks pretty, nice design and user interface. However, it just wasn’t useful. The core point of the app is to get suggestions for similar content one is interested in. The app simple does not address this fundamental issue. It wastes and disrespects the time of the user choosing their favorite content. Recommendations/suggestions were virtually non-existent. There are pervasive cards that stay on the home page without changing that, even when you swipe through them, they continue to stay there each and every time one opens the app. Instead, the app is full of people asking “I like x, can you recommend something to me?” and then people share recommendations. This is nice, but it shouldn’t be the main purpose of the app. The way the app is branded is misleading. The user expects AI to be able to process the user’s favorite and preferred content and make recommendations. Unfortunately, the recommendations engine is somewhere between non-existent and bare bones. If the developers can improve the recommendation algorithms and bring this to the surface more, it would more greatly benefit the user. As it is, I personally installed the app, spent 30 minutes entering my preferred content, and then deleted the app after 20 or so extra minutes of realizing this is not the app that is going to provide adequate or sufficient recommendations. The two stars are because the design and UI are really nice, but as far as substance and utility are concerned, it’s currently severely lacking.

   I don’t know if anyone else has this problem but for me it doesn’t seem like this app is a fan of negative reviews. I tried to leave a negative review on a book that was genuinely bad, I feel like I was just being honest and not overwhelmingly mean (this is the review I wrote)“This is one of the worst books I’ve ever read. Specifically what I hated about this book is that it was all filler. Halfway through the book there’s a bit about marks backstory and it was multiple chapters when it really could’ve just been one, the author just restated the same things over and over similar to how you would in an essay that wasn’t long enough (i suspect the overwhelming amount of filler is because he had a page count to reach) this is basically how the entire book was too. The unnecessary information genuinely upset set me to the point I almost gave up reading this. The worst part had to be at the “end”where you can tell this was actually how the book was supposed to end but then there is just an extra 119pages of filler (i am once again assuming he had some sort of page count to reach) I only got this book because another book this author wrote was really good (orsk) come to find out it was almost entirely ripped off of a creepypasta about a forever expanding ikea.” It would not let me post any negative reviews but when I tried posting a simple “i liked this book” it was allowed

5. 4/5Good but with a few flaws

   It’s got all the books you can think of in its database, some without the covers loaded though. And the community is active. The app is easy to work with and simple. It’s good and less text heavy than Goodreads. Overall, I think it’s a fun app with a few flaws. The recommendation system is rudimentary. For one, there are people of all age ranges on the app from juvenile to adult. The app takes no data of age so it’s easy a juvenile to ask for recommendations and receive something out of their age range. I’m not asking for exact age at all or even related to people but age ranges would be nice on asks or discussion pages. I have not given recommendations before because I wondered if the person I was giving the recommendation to wanted a book for a younger person or older person. Their compatibility system isn’t great at actual compatibility. They use genres as a measure for how similar two peoples book tastes are, so if you are a person who likes a wide range or like fantasy but not romance fantasy, it’s not going be a perfect system for you. I have found people with 30% match to actually make more to my tastes than 100% people. I wish you could tag the books yourself to say what you liked most.

   One of the slowest running apps on my device. Unfortunate because the idea/features are really good! But half the time when you open it, it loads endlessly. The entire app will crash or freeze your whole phone. Sometimes part of the app works but other sections refuse to open or have an extremely long delay. Needs work on the technical side.

   You have to be a very patient person to use this app as loading is slow and blank screens are common. however once it loads it's an alright- very few active contributing users atm, and the app's "personalized" recommendations are usually whatever is popular at the moment. IMO This app is best used as a personal record to rate and remember media you like, not necessarily to find new media, however the community ask feature is fun. It's worth exploring, may or may not be worth keeping.

   Their "library" of books is seriously lacking/ incomplete. It recommends the same books over and over and they have zero in common with the genres I'm interested in. Always getting pop-up ads and just seems outdated for the app to be relatively new. Overall, just download fable app instead. AND THE PAGES NEVER LOAD. WHAT A WASTE!!!!
