1. 5/5Nowhere to Go but Up

   I’ve been with LANDR since their early days. One of the reasons I stick around despite competing services crowding this particular space: they consistently and actively strive to improve what they offer. The LANDR app embodies that improvement. Even if it were riddled with bugs (it isn’t), the app is a fine and welcome extension of their web app. My workflow used to involve snagging a reference mix, downloading it, converting it to MP3, tagging it, uploading it to iTunes, and playing it back via Apple Music in various environments… Yes, instant headache. The LANDR app takes all of that nonsense out of the equation. I simply audition from within the app now. The other features are a welcome inclusion - I appreciate the integration with “Collaborate”, etc. It would be great to see more management capabilities in future releases (delete masters, rename them), but I’m not sweating it. The app isn’t meant to replace the fully formed web interface. Regardless, I’m sure LANDR is pursuing said capabilities anyway. All told, the LANDR app does exactly what it needs to now. Anything more is icing on the cake. Well done. Thanks!

2. 5/5The tough choice of picking mastering and distribution

   With so many choices, it’s a challenge to decide who to go with. For myself, I spent days studying the websites, their format, their feedback. Price just can’t be a deciding factor if your work is that important to you. I kept coming back to LANDR who seemed to have an edge in every category I was looking for. I just didn’t trust my skills in ProTools to master and felt mastering is Tailor made for AI. Result? I picked LANDR. And once I started using it, what a sigh of relief knowing I had chosen the absolute best!

3. 2/5Cool Features, Customer Service Not Great

   I love the features the core service provides, and you can see they are doing a lot to add new features and more value, but their customer service is painful to deal with. They take several days to respond to every query and don’t seem to read (or respond to) every question or point in your query, so you have to re-ask your questions multiple times and it can takes weeks just to resolve something. Also, I was on a more expensive legacy pricing plan, but when they changed the plan options and lowered their pricing, I was not sufficiently notified and they did not automatically switch me over or provide any discount. I only happened to find out about it and inquired and was told I needed to manually switch plans to receive the discount. I lost several days of eligible discount just waiting for their responses. So what, they were going to keep charging me double for the legacy plan and never let me know? That is terrible, sketchy customer service. You can (and should) do better Landr.

4. 1/5Unprofessional and insulting, and their witch hunt is ruining them

   Landr used to be great, but now they are so paranoid that you might accidentally release AI music through them that they are ruining the experience for real artists, like a cheap hotel removing bathroom fans and sealing windows to try to catch smokers. Thin your EQ out too much or add the wrong effects to an instrument or vocal recording, you’re AI. Reviewer doesn’t like your genre, you’re AI. Release an album just fine with no issues, but then pause it and make subtle EQ changes to a couple tracks and re-release, now their proprietary Ai detection they can’t tell you about has detected the entire album as 100% AI. Meaning their AI detection is just a reviewer listening and judging if they think you are an AI. Not to mention they are extremely unprofessional and insulting in their email to tell you that you’ve been detected as AI. They’re hurting real artists by falsely accusing them of being AI, and I wouldn’t recommend them to a flatulent dog with a microphone.

5. 4/5Too long to process Releases

   LANDR seems to have a pretty solid platform, especially with all of the add-ons that you get along with the account! Awesome. However, I’m not certain why it takes such a long time to get our songs released. In comparison to some of the other distribution platforms, my expectations were a little bit more higher for this brand. I hope to one day change my rating to Five Stars. But for now, I have to give it a four. Wait… I just wanna make sure I explain this right: For example, if I were given a (3) three day trial, which I’m giving this time to try out the product—- yet I have a songs ready to release. —> If it takes up to seven days for a song to be released, then the trial is not, in my opinion, genuine— because we, as Artists have not truly had the chance to test out its capabilities of distributing our songs. I truly hope that this message gets out to LANDR . Thank you. Çoul
