2/5Good for chat but security flaws
I started using App based on suggestions that it was a private way to chat with others. Used mainly for adult purposes, or any scenario where you don’t want anyone to see a chat in your phone’s text messaging. The addition of specialized groups you can join to meet others with same interests to you was an added bonus. Actually made some real friends with the groups. What I find very disturbing is the extremely high amount of bots that are in the App. They are usually disguised as attractive women who privately message you, and then try to lure you with spam or a phishing link. Of course, I just report and block and delete them, but when you’re getting up to 10 a day, you start to realize KIK has a major problem. They can also join private groups and wreak havoc with members. Remember, children (17 y.o.’s per KIK, but I’m sure younger are using App) can use this App, so this can create real problems to the unaware. When you report the Spam Bots every…single…day, you would think KIK would take more stringent action to prevent this. Nothing. It simply allows you to block them. I thought reporting them would get their accounts removed, but when I look at my block list they still exist years later. Especially disturbing because the Spam Bots are always sexually explicit. Not for younger, or people sensitive to sexual harassment. Take this seriously, KIK.

3/5could do better.
don’t get me wrong i do like kik. it’s just there’s so many little things that bug me. first, it freezes so much. i can barely navigate the app without having to close and reopen the app. it gets really annoying because of, well, obvious reasons. next, something just happened. so i signed out of kik (i’ll talk about something that has to do with signing out later.) and then signed back in and there were chats that i’m not even in or don’t know the person? i’ve met so many people on kik but i’d know if i’ve met them before. now, back to signing out. when you sign out and sign back it all your chats reset. i wouldn’t have much of a problem with this but sometimes kik sins me out on its own and there’s still messages on there that i haven’t gotten to yet, but then i couldn’t because it says “nothing yet”. there’s also this one chat that i’ve left long ago but it keeps popping up on my list of messages but when i try to leave again it says “you are not a member of this group” then why does the group keep popping up? moving on, there’s many group chats that are FLOODED with bots. i’m not even exaggerating when i say flooded. i guess you can’t really do anything about that but it’s irritating having to remove the bots over and over or ask an admin/owner to remove them. this app is pretty old too, so you can’t even use “oh it’s a beta app, you’re bound to get some bugs.” but other than these little things, i do like kik. i’ve met many amazing people and i recommend this chatting app if you’re able to tolerate these little things.

4/5Love it (but I don’t like the new updates)
Ok so I’ve had Kik since 2 years back, it was awesome and worked amazing at that time. So I got a new phone and forgot about it and probably half a year later I got it again, it was great when I opened the app. It worked perfectly and I didn’t have any problems. So as time gone by I noticed a few bugs, example: I own a group so I’m the owner, sometimes when I open the app and a bot joins I try to remove it but it doesn’t give me the option so when I view the members, there’s two of me. The one that’s owner and the one that’s a member. So I ask the members if they see two of me in the members and they say no. I tried closing the app and reopening it but it never works so I just wait it out and let my admins do it for me. The update that I hated is when someone leaves a group chat, you can’t private message them. That update annoyed me a lot because I made some friends in some chats but they left but I can never get in touch with them unless I had them in my contacts which I do not. I’m only see that the bugs happen in the group chats. Also, the ads update, or what I think is a update is really annoying also because it really messed up al the chats I was in. I really hope they fix them because I love this app!

3/5What I learned in boating school
I was hesitant to leave a review but I felt called to share my words. After much discernment, I feel as though I can help someone else in need. George Washington once said, “if you want to help the world, leave a review on a social networking app, and I can think of no better role model than the Queen of England to base all of my life choices after.” Once the movie Hamilton came out on Disney Plus, I knew that my world was changed forever so thank you George for your words. And that’s when I decided to download Kik to attempt to launch my broadway career by sending unsolicited messages to the cast of Hamilton. Through the group video feature, I was able to talk to not only Lin Manuel-Miranda, but also the supporting cast such as Daveed Diggs, Phillipa Soo and Kyle Hatfield. Quick side-note about the cast, although their performance was great, I could not help but notice the lack of knowledge of classical English literature by the supporting cast. Like, who even counts in French nowadays. Anyways, my broadway career has yet to take off and I partially blame Kik for not giving me the same networking opportunities as LinkedIn. Although lacking in that area, Kik has provided me with the means to meet many nice women in the area - some which are popular on another platform: OnlyFans. My grandmother and I spend several hours searching through said platform - looking for a future wife for myself. With that being said, Kik is a great multi-use platform which is why it’s getting three stars from a great user such as myself.

3/5Fantastic but could use some work
Ive had my kik account for over 6 and a half years. I remember a time when everything worked and it was fantastic, and it still is but its not the same anymore. as far as issues currently in the app there are times when kik triggers a notification even though none of my unmuted chats had a message, and most of all there are times where kik simply doesn’t update chats, it will act as if there has been no update to a chat since say 7:33 pm the day before when that specific chat has a reliable history of being active, especially in the in the hours since and its not just that chat, it does the same thing for all my chats. Closing the app entirely and even shutting off my phone doesn’t fix it and theres been more numerous occasions where i had to actually delete the app and redownload it and doing so resets all the chat history. Ive had a lot of good times and the app still seems to be going strong despite same sizable hiccups in the past but these current issues have ended up pushing me away towards discord and frankly, the format and mechanics kik has for joining new chats is incredible streamlined and is one of the main reasons i stay. I really hope the dev team can manage to fix these issues, id hate to see such a fantastic app go down the drain
