    Ok, so it definitely has a few rough points and some bugs that come from time to time due to it still being Beta. Probably deserves a 4 star because of those, but I’ve been waiting for a truly P2P chat app to feel like it just works for the majority of my life, and Keet has done it. In fact some of its little bugs are exactly what makes it so fascinating, that a purely P2P app built on a network of blind forwarding peers works at all, and even to a degree where I have very simple complaints about it not working exactly like some centralized alternative like Telegram or Signal, is rather an incredible feat actually. I use Keet daily, and have been for more than a year now. It is my main work chat environment, and it’s become an essential part of my workflow. More than anything because it’s the safest way to deliver sensitive information or data directly to who I’m talking with. It’s a great secure channel in that way. If you haven’t explored yet, do so. It’s an all around great chat app, but with numerous benefits of it being private and P2P at every layer is hard to beat.

  2. 5/5Cool app!

    Needs robust mDNS/multicast/Bonjour-style local discovery built in by default for pure LAN operation. Also needs to utilize Apple Multipeer Connectivity Framework for local peer-to-peer networking over WiFi and Bluetooth. This would be helpful when connected to networks that don’t have free internet access but allow you to connect to the WiFi still. Such as on an airplane, hotel, or especially a cruise ship.

  3. 5/5The last chat app you’ll ever need

    Just love it! Why would any chat app NOT be peer to peer? That’s like Adam, Eve, and … Steve? Just creepy to have a server in the middle. Also, if you’re chatting with someone on the same local network, and you both allow the app to discover local network, the chat never even leaves the building. Well done!

  4. 5/5What a turn around by Keet!

    The file sharing is super fast. I do wish that they add an "on boarding experience" it would help with getting others to adopt. I get asked, "How do I message you?" From every person I tell to download Keet. I am looking forwarrd to the direction its headed. Def jump on this!

  5. 4/5Great Concept, Encouraging Progress

    UPDATED: Keet is a solid chat app with core functionality and minor bugs. The Holepunch team has done fantastic work getting this out there. Software development is always slower than anyone wants if we are honest but this work is encouraging. Excited to see the future of this app. To make this a 5 star I’m really looking to be able to replace other chat apps: - DM support (added in November!) - Auto-deleting/expiring messages (content retention policy) Notifications I expect will continue to improve with improvements to blind forwarding peers. Otherwise, great work! Much improvement has been made since early alphas!
