  1. 1/5Entirely frustrating. Would give negative stars if possible.

Jolt has taken over all of the charging stations at the outlet mall in Michigan I use to charge my EV on a frequently made long distance trip. It was frustrating enough to have to add yet another app just to charge up. But this app seems to have a fatal flaw.. when you get to the point where it says it will send a confirmation email… it stops. Nothing happens. No email. No option to move forward. Just an endless loop. There is no way to add a credit card number. So no way to charge the car Normally I would just move on the Tesla chargers at the same outlet mall and use my adapter.. but nope, Jolt has apparently gotten rid of, or taken over the tesla chargers so there is truely no where to charge. I had to drive another 17 minutes out of the way to charge. Fortunately I had enough energy in my battery. Please get this fixed! I will stick with Meijer stores and electrify America for the foreseeable future

  2. 5/5I don’t understand the hate.

I downloaded this app today on a whim, because I wanted to charge my ‘23 Polestar 2 a bit while we were at a movie theater. I had never even heard of Jolt. I rarely use public charging, and have only used EVGo for that. I was thankful this wasn’t a fast charger, because the prices tend to be much higher (in my limited experience with EVGo). The app was super easy to set up. I got started with the “Starter” membership, which is $0.00 (yes, ZERO) per month. This grants full access to their charging network. The upgraded membership is $4.99 (at the time of writing this) and gives you some discounts and whatnot. I don’t use public charging enough to pay for discounts. The app connected to the charger without any delays, and I was able to start charging my car immediately. When we got out of the theater, I easily ended the charging session in the app and I think it was less than $6 for two and a half hours of charging. I call that a win. It gave me plenty of charge to get back to Dallas from Frisco (after starting my day in Crandall), and then back to Crandall where my home is. I had zero issues with any part of the experience. App was easy to download and set up, charger worked flawlessly, and payment was easy. I don’t understand all the bad reviews.

  3. 5/5Net Improvement!

I am not one to typically rate my experience with an app (we sacrifice enough of our time to them,) and after being prompted to download JOLT by the updated livery on my local free EV charger I was quite nervous after reading the reviews, but I am pleased to report the transition from Shell (#DeepwaterHorizon #neverforget) has been quite painless. The app is a quick download, registration is easy, credit card information is collected but a $0/free subscription tier is easily selected and pricing is completely transparent. In my case, what was once a free-for-all charger with a “one-hour limit” but vehicles regularly idling long after charging had stopped is now a truly unlimited charger (no more restarting every hour!) with an aggressive idle fee to deter abusers! Plus a much nicer, more modern, user interface and snappier performance, this is a huge upgrade. Appreciate the developers, great job with this one!

  4. 5/5It use to be free

Hello and to whom ever it makes sense, I used to love using the jolt car chargers by the Montclair Plaza mall they used to be free, but I don’t know what happened. I used to charge my car for free for about an hour getting 25 to 32 miles then all of a sudden they start charging haven’t used them since they started to charge a fee to use their car charger stations, but hopefully it’s not a lot cause it’s not that powerful it only pushes out 10 watts out Max so hopefully it’s too cheap because you’re gonna sit there for an hour to to try to charge your car and then we get 40 miles worth it station but when it was free, it was nice. You could get the miles back. Take you to get to the mall. By using their charging stations for free, but hey, it’s the world we live in everyone need to get their money

  5. 1/5This company is scummy

I stopped at an AC 10KW charger to get some energy while at a movie theater, haven’t used it before so I followed the instructions on the charger how to setup an account. I did so, adding my vehicle information and payment method. I clicked start charging, and after waiting 60 seconds with my car not detecting a cable, and the charger not detecting a fault or error, it started logging time and charging me for the rate even though the app said N/A. I unplugged, and it gave me my receipt and charged my card, I tried to plug back in and redo the charger, but the app had now noted the charger was “Out Of Order”. After speaking with support they send me 1 email telling me to send my receipt and the station Id. 3 days later no response. Dispute has been submitted with my card issuer. Do not charge here, support will find a way to prolong the refund if a charger is falsely reported in the app to appear working. Terrible app and this company is not trustworthy with your money.
