4/5Good app idea, some bugs to work out
UPDATE: The team at Joggo worked with me to refund my money due to my sync issues. I’ve provided some screenshots as well in hopes that if it’s a bug for some, they can address it quickly. I’ve updated my rating to reflect the helpful customer service. Original review: I was really excited to begin using Joggo. Putting a training plan together based on my skill level and body type seemed like I could finally make strides in weight loss. Plus, the added benefit of hitting 26.2 for a full refund is very appealing just in case you tried it for a while and learn it’s just not for you. Well, this is week 3, and the app is really disappointing. The idea behind it is good, but the app has a lot of trouble recognizing your data, loading previous run data, or forgetting it all together! I’m at 22 miles, yet this app isn’t giving me credit for HALF of them (I have the apple fitness data from my watch to prove it) I’ve contacted Joggo via email, help/support in the app, and submitting bugs through the app. Nothing. No response. I’m extremely disappointed in Joggo. I’m so frustrated that, unless I hear back from them, I’ll have wasted $60 on an app, as it’s not like I am getting credit for my 26.2 miles for the refund anyway. I do not recommend this app. Do not trust the ads you see on social media.

4/5Good running trainer
I’ve been using this app on “lose weight” mode for two months. I’m not actually using it to lose weight, but I didn’t want the C25K experience I thought I was going to get with the 5K or 10K trainer modes. I like the variety of running workouts I get every week. The interval trainer day is my favorite. I’ve noticed an increase in my running performance. I ran a 5K yesterday and dropped a full minute and a half from my last race time. Hooray! As a side note, I am not using the strength training or meal plan parts of Joggo. I already have strength training and meal plans outside of the app. Despite the increase in performance and general enjoyment of the app, I have to admit that it has problems. I am only using Joggo indoors on a treadmill. That means I have to input my distance, etc. at the end of the workout. It also doesn’t sync to my preferred tracking device, so even if I was running outside, I’d have to jump through hoops to make it work for me. It also means that the only feedback I get while running is about the time remaining. Nothing about heart rate unless I look at my watch. I’ve also noticed that the goal for each running level is not always correct. My app shows goals from earlier levels as goals for higher levels. It’s very strange. I’m not always sure what number of miles I should be targeting during the assessment runs. What I use this app for meets my needs. It has problems that were initially frustrating but that I’ve learned to work around. I’m not sure I’d recommend paying for Joggo at full price. However, if you can get it at a discount and want to start/get back into running, give it a try.

5/5Very Calming App
I’m a previously seasoned, weekend warrior runner who has recently backed way off on my running. I decided to try out Joggo as a way to get back into it. I’ve been using Joggo for a few weeks. Due to my own lack of motivation and work schedule, I haven’t been religious about following my specific plan, but I do manage to run two times per week with the app, and am feeling motivated to do more. The gentle reminders in the notifications is helpful! I love that the program pulls me back to a normal pace when I start going too fast and start feeling cramps or out of breath. That’s been the mental adjustment I’ve needed for a long time now! When I’m at my best I run a 9:00 mile. But since I’ve slacked off, I’ve needed the gentle push this app gives me to fix my mental state with my running so that I can get back to where I was!! I also love the food plan. Very beneficial for someone like me who hates to plan and eats emotionally. Highly recommend this app for any phase of recreational runner; new, seasoned, young, young at heart - this is a great way to feel confident and get you on track to meet your goals!

1/5This app is trash
All the reviews that give more than one star to this app have to be scams. Even the ones online. There is a reason the app doesn’t offer a free trial - the app is trash and they know it. It has me at a max heart rate for a 25 year old even though I’m 50. The stupid app is pushing me to run at 175 bpm when my max HR for my age is 170. I emailed their customer service and they just told me to restart everything. When that didn’t change anything (except mess up the app more) customer service then just ignored me. The app doesn’t track my pace accurately at all. It is all over the place. At one point it said I was running a 2:35 pace mile (ha!) when I was walking. The audio cues are stupid. It says “keep going” in this annoying peppy voice when I’m supposed to be doing a slow recovery walk. When I could get the audio cues to work at all, which was rare. The recipes are delusional. They call for corn tortillas for wraps and 1 tbsp of hummus for dipping. There aren’t a lot of recipes and you can’t substitute your own. When I updated the meal plan, the shopping list the app generates didn’t update. The app does all sorts of funky stuff, like thinking a date in the past is the current calendar date. The AI coach is a dumb feature. Not helpful at all. Since there hasn’t been an update to the app for six months I can only assume based on my experience the app is no longer supported and the company is just taking people’s money. Don’t pay for this app! It is trash.

3/5I want to love this app
Apparently I’m very accountability driven because the streak thing is working for me, so that is a plus. Except for when there is a bug or something and it doesn’t recognize your runs. On Monday I got up and was excited to do an interval run, i set out with just my watch, I suspected it was making me to a repeat of Sundays run, but i also thought, this could be the warmup before my intervals. But on the watch you can’t look ahead. I didn’t want to lose my streak so i completed it and sure enough, it was a repeat of Sunday. I had to go to work and I tried to complete my Monday interval training after work. Tuesday is suppose to be my rest day, I opened my app up last night to see what my run was going to be for Wednesday and it said i missed my streak! How? I ran twice on Monday. Now this morning, I go out with just my watch (big mistake, but i really want an app I don’t have to carry my phone with) I completed that run and opened the Joggo app, and it didn’t log my run from my watch! Which if i just ignore it, I’ll have “missed” another run and lose my streak. Overall, yeah I’m happy I’m running more. But this app is clunky. I am well over 26.2 miles and I do not even know how to go about asking for a refund. Every 2 weeks it tells you to do an assessment run so you can move on to the next level, but I haven’t been able to figure out the prompt for the assessment run, so after 4 weeks i just moved myself up because I didn’t want to repeat another 4 weeks of kinda walking, kinda running. and it had me do a repeat of Sundays run. I want to love this app, I did until it starting bugging out on me.
