1. 3/5Why Did You Step Backwards?

   I have enjoyed using the Instant Brands app to find recipes for a while now and have discovered some truly amazing, delicious, and easy to make recipes. Your appliances have made me fall in love with cooking. A while back the app was given a major overhaul ands what I’m trying to understand is why did you step backwards? I speak specifically of the removal of the blender appliance. I love my Instant Ace so I was said to see the major app overhaul removed the appliance. I’m glad that my saved recipes using it are still present but I would like to find new recipes. It just doesn’t make sense to me to remove a feature you already had. We also need the quick reference feature back on the recipe landing page that told us right away which appliance the recipe is for. Having to read the step by step instructions to figure this out can be tedious and even a deal breaker for some of us who are neurodivergent. I don’t want to open and read through the instructions on multiple different recipes just to figure out if I have the right appliance. Honestly, this increases the likelihood of me going elsewhere. We also desperately need back the ability to review recipes, because I just made one that in all honesty, it feels like it was nothing more than a troll.

2. 3/5Buggy when using preprogrammed choices

   Almost every time I select one of the preprogrammed cooking methods (eggs, meat, pasta ...) the instant pot malfunctions at the end of the cycle. Today I selected Rigatoni and it was supposed to cook for four minutes and then quick release. The pot notified my iPhone that "something smells good" and said "your Rigatoni is done." When I went to open the cover it had a 12 minute rice cooking cycle on the display panel and my Rigatoni had not vented so the cover was locked. I had to cancel then set to quick release to complete my cycle. This has been happening frequently and it always defaults to the 12 minute rice cycle at the end of what was supposed to be a quick release of whatever was cooking. I'm going to go back to just manually selecting my cooking modes because this is becoming a real nuisance. I hope someone reads these reviews and fixes this error soon.

3. 2/5This app not really all that helpful”

   Just bought Instant Pot 4 QT. Rio Mini as gift to myself. I downloaded this app thinking it would help me out with using my new appliance. But no, not really. This app doesn’t really help you if you bought a base model like the Rio. If it was a great app, it would allow you to identify exactly what instant pot (s) you have, especially the size (3, 4, 6, 8 qt) and automatically adapt the recipes/cooking methods to reflect that, or allow you to select the size of IP you are cooking with on each recipe, and as I said, adapt the stated amounts for the size of IP so I wouldn’t have to do the calculations. If it was a great app, it would have a base recipe (for instance for steel cut oats) and then also have the other recipes that have the various additives. If it was a great app it would help you create an ingredient shopping list that you could either print out or save to your phone, or even a “My Shopping List” tab, etc. But it doesn’t really have any cool features that are usable for me. I’m probably going to delete the app, as right now I can do better by just googling for recipes, amounts and main ingredients on my phone and writing a shopping list by hand as I had been doing. AI on my phone is far more helpful than this app. Unfortunately.

4. 2/5Not what I was promised

   I'm new to the instant pot world so I thought getting the pot that had an app with a bunch of connected recipes that were already programmed to work with my device would be a good start. 2000+ would mean plenty of variety and an excellent opportunity to explore and experiment. However, not only are there less than 100 recipes (a far cry from 2000+), but there are a decent number of duplicates and you have to pay attention to the times and other details because not only are many of them not by the instant pot team, but details like timing aren't even recorded correctly on everything. In one rice recipe for instance, the time listed at the onset is 16 minutes but one of the steps says to cook it for 30. Who knows what else is wrong. The ingredients are also limited. chances are that you type in an ingredient or a word in a common recipe into the recipe search as you are supposed to do and it will come up empty. I will be looking online and my local library for more recipes. The app is not worth the extra money

5. 4/5Instant Pot Easy

   I have had a lot of luck with the Instant Pot app. It enables me to save favorite recipes and guides me through the process. The issues that I have with it have to do with ingredient measurements. The units of measure are not clear or consistent. I can usually figure it out, but why would this not be standard and clear, like any other recipe. I have found that some recipe sources are also more reliable than others. Finally, the built in timer feature has not been helpful because it doesn’t take into account preheat time. An added bonus is being able to adjust recipes up and down with the number of servings. The recipe will tell you if your Instant Pot has reached it’s capacity and won’t allow you to go beyond the number of servings it can handle. There are a few flaws, but overall, I like the app.
