1. 5/5Lovely app. I don’t like the mascot

   I like the app so far. First day using it and I had a valuable time connecting with one of my parts through the chat feature - this is fantastic!!! So excited to continue using it. There are bugs - the Parts section doesn’t always allow me to make edits to specific parts (like changing the image for a part). The video tutorials don’t always load. I have to keep shutting down the app and opening it again to get it working. I really hope the bugs get fixed soon. I don’t like Pepe the dog icon. I like dogs but I don’t find Pepe to be cute at all. I went as far as changing the icon of the app on my phone desktop. I find it distracting and silly-looking. I changed the icon to something more neutral. In the app, Pepe still shows up in the app even though I changed the icon on the Home Screen. Ugh. I hesitate to share this app with others because I’m embarrassed by Pepe…

2. 4/5Helpful app, check-in/reminder feature doesn’t work though

   I have only used the guided meditation feature so far (without the AI), but it’s clear even just from those that the app was designed by people who are really skilled at using IFS. I often get overwhelmed when trying to do parts work on my own, and even just the default guided prompts are really helpful to adjusting to extreme emotions and sensations. Unfortunately, the reminder feature, which seems like it would be really useful, doesn’t work at all for me. When I try to set reminders to check in with specific parts, I can’t even change the suggested time to the time I want (it invariably gets set to 24 hours later, so if I’m trying to set the reminder when using the app on Thursday at 10 AM, the reminder will only be able to be set for Friday at 10 AM). But the issue with the timing doesn’t even ultimately matter because the reminder never saves. When I hit Save, there’s a spinning icon like something is loading, but the reminder never actually gets set. It just stays at the spinning loading icon indefinitely.

   I use this app in between my therapy sessions, and I truly appreciate the experience it provides. Pepe‘s voice is soothing and guides me as I explore different aspects of myself. After each session, I always feel calmer, more confident and centered. The app has been instrumental in helping me process emotions that I might otherwise push down which can lead to them resurfacing in unhelpful ways or never being addressed at all leaving me feeling stuck. I especially love the guidance it offers whenever I am feeling triggered allowing me to delve into my feelings and explore my inner self. Overall, this app has become a valuable tool in my self discovery and healing journey.

4. 4/5Extremely helpful

   Extremely helpful, almost magical experience of being guided to connect with parts within an AI session. That said, I can barely afford the cost of the app monthly, much less the barrage of workshops that are marketed to me thru email every week which seem fairly important for me to attend. Nowhere else in the app do you get a comprehensive introduction to IFS or your parts. It’s also very unclear how many parts to expect to unearth or interact with. So I personally feel lost sometimes even though I thought I had a simple enough base of knowledge of IFS. Learn elsewhere or expect to need to attend $60 2-3 hour bootcamps/workshops to really know what you’re doing. I also really wish you could access a summary of each session and the parts you met, and have those takeaways saved under the respective part’s section in the app. It all feels hodgepodge and some information is saved, while some isn’t, and is only mentioned in an email summary that’s sent to you at the end of a week.

   This app has truly been a life-changing experience for me. I start each morning by checking in with my parts, preferably when I’m still in a gentle, waking state. It’s remarkable how much I’ve connected with my different parts and listened to their pain and sorrow. This process is helping me move through grief and develop a softer, more loving attitude toward all parts of myself. I used to feel hate and love toward them, but now I genuinely love and want to nurture them. The app is absolutely incredible, providing notes and visuals for each part. While I can do this work in my mind, having this hands-on process makes a profound difference. It’s truly an amazing tool for my healing journey.
