  1. 4/5Second thought

I previously left a review where I said the new version of the app was completely useless. Subsequently, I discovered that I just wasn’t waiting long enough after hitting “Liturgy of the Hours.” It takes so long that I thought it was freezing and crashing, but it does work after all. This is still (again) my favourite O.F. LOH app because of the English translations of real liturgical hymns, the option of Latin, the new ICEL collects, and auto scroll. That being said, the newer version is inferior in every way to the previous version. Slower, way less user-friendly, clunky, and confusing. If they went from the current version to the previous one, it would be a true “update” in every way compared to this one. I hope it’s at least more convenient for the developer to maintain, b/c it didn’t improve anything for the user.

  2. 4/5Still Good But Was Better

This is still a good app. I still find the texts accurate for both the breviary as well as mass. I have no problems with downloading rapidly. What has gone downhill is that it no longer offers the proper texts at all for any of the orders listed in the app description. You used to be able to select an order & see all the dates with proper texts. The various propers slowly disappeared one by one. I would like to see the propers back, but overall still a solid app. I am concerned it will stop working at some point because it was last updated 2 years ago to work with iOS 10, which is pretty outdated.

  3. 5/5Such a blessing

What a friend we have in Jesus, thank you for providing these prayers to pray and get to know Him better. He has been showing himself to me through prayer, and these prayers really help when I don’t know what to say. Being not the best impromptu communicator, I am filled with gratitude in my heart for the service you’ve provided here. God truly heals all diseases and all sorrows. Loving Him is the perfection of our faith and these prayers really communicate who he is, and the app is faithful to the real breviary so I believe. I like the old script style ... can we have more of that in future updates? Also is there a way to look up readings and psalmodies in any day of the year and not just from yesterday through the next ten? If you’re a man, you gotta pray this. You’ll see. Anyway, thank you again and may God bless you and all who pray to Him in a sincere heart.

  4. 5/5A Must Have App

I am a college seminarian, and part of our formation is praying the Liturgy of the Hours. This app makes it so much easier to do so when I’m on the go. I also have easy access to the proper prayers for the day, and the entire text of the Mass. As if all this wasn’t enough, this app includes various rites for priests to use and prayers for everyone to say, regardless of their state in life. There is only one issue that I noticed. I am in formation for the Franciscans, who have their own breviary with special prayers for feasts like the Feast of St. Francis. The Franciscan Hours is not an option on this app, and is something I would love to see added in a future update.

  5. 4/5Still Have Display and Other Issues on iPad Pro iOS 11

I’ve been using the app for years, primarily on an old iPad 2 and sometimes on an iPhone. I got a new iPad Pro with iOS 11 and the display in portrait mode does not work. The text is pushed to the left using about a third of the screen. I as hoping today’s update would fix this but it has not. In landscape mode, the text options panel disappears completely. The links started working in the last release but are not working in this one. The links in book mode do not work. I tried to use the email link for support but the app crashed. Please fix this wonderful app. Most of the clergy in my diocese use it.

  • 7.2.0

We've update our app to include reading from the Conferenza Episcopale Italiana (CEI) when using the Italian language for the readings of the day. We've also fixed some bug and introduced small improvements.

  • 8.0.0

We work toward a better version of iBreviary in every release. In this update, we bring a new notification system! The most notable introduction, apart from optimization and modernization, is the possibility to snooze recurring notifications. If a notification is set to reappear after a X days passed /showing it's badge near to the notification icon in the main screen of the app), once you open it you will find the option (in the top right corner, near to the title) to delay the next iteration by some amount of time you'll find there. We also worked on speed up our interface, to mitigate difficulties introduced when IOS 16.1 was released. We hope to have bring back the previous responsivity of the app you've enjoyed to use. Finally, we fixed some annoying bugs. See you in the next iteration!
