1. 4/5Honest review.

   To be honest, for a free app I expect a really bad knockoff of procreate but now this is one of the only apps I use! The color palettes are really well made. Amazing free brushes! And you can make your own! The animation fps max of 60 is a chef kiss. I went here with no tutorial and got used to using it fast. Such an amazing app! I got two apps when I lost procreate on this new iPad. Ibis paint which I used for 2 years prior and Ipainting. I went to ipainting first and fell in love. Deleted ibis paint just for this! I rarely get lag and slower you brush the smaller it is if you don’t have a Apple Pencil. I have some few negatives with needing ads for some features you can easily just blur out and say it’s for plus only. The ads are rare compared to usual free apps which still surprises me when I get an ad because the app is so good to be free and ads are rare. So yeah. Amazing app! 9/10 and I highly recommend it to beginners with no money! But…. The recent 2024 update gets rid of the high resolution save for free, it’s for pros now and now I can’t make my storyboards as appealing anymore:( it’s a great app I just really, really hope they don’t add more ads and become money hungry. It’s nice but adding more money locked materials just doesn’t make it free and makes people less interested. Also it crashes more often, sadly have to take off a star because of it.

2. 4/5Love this app!

   Hey! I’ve been using this app, ever since I’ve started drawing on my iPad. Since 2021 I’ve had a bias for this app because it was free, had a beautiful layout and was comprehensive. Yes, did at the time I have to watch ads to access premium tools? Of course, I didn’t mind the ads. It was a great way to gain them, all the while giving commission to the app through the ads. However, as of recently, I’ve been getting the advertisement to upgrade to premium so constantly, it’s getting to the point to where I may have to switch to a different app. I’m hesitant, because I’ve loved this app, but I can’t deal with 3 min ads every time I’m trying to export any projects. I was tempted to buy it, but with how much “in your face” this has gotten, it’s really encouraging to go the other way. I have faith, considering this app was made by a dad for his daughters, which gave sentiment to the app and made me happy when I used it over other popular apps. I’ve even encouraged and recommended this to friends, so I really don’t want to change programs. I don’t mean this in an entitled way, but would it be possible to please tone down the ads? At least, to the way it was before? When the only ads you watched were willing for access to certain tools? BTW love the new layouts, I can see the effort and work that has been put to this app. Thank you!

3. 2/5Used to love this app

   Had this app for about 2-3 years, loved it because it was a free art program that was decent quality. There were and still are many issues with app, especially in regards to lagging, though that might be my tablets age, so it never bothered me. Because it being better in quality when compared to some other free art apps, I never minded watching adds for premium features, like liquify. However that option is no longer offered, instead more and more features, such as copy/paste, are being taken away and locked behind the pay wall, with the only alternative being stuck behind an unskippable, minute long ad for the premium version of this app, which only allows for a one time use of the feature you’re attempting to use (at least that was the case when I was attempting to use copy/paste multiple times in a row). I am writing this review as I just received a 2 minute long ad. The only reason I use you app is because it’s free, but it is quickly becoming unusable. If I wanted to pay money for an art program I would have just paid the subscription fee for photoshop or clipstudio or procreate because you get far more features and it would at least be worth the money spent. I am quickly becoming so frustrated while using your app, that I will probably just delete it and find a different application to use. It was a good app while it lasted, y’know, before y’all got greedy, and I can’t provide a review the premium as it’s not worth paying for, especially when compared to what used to be offered for free.

4. 2/5It was a fun drawing app until the updates...

   As a kid٫ I LOVE to draw٫ especially digital art! And I thought that this was the best app ever until the new updates. First٫ the length in time for ads have increased٫ it used to be 5 seconds but now it's 15-20 seconds long! But whats even worst٫ is when I try to take a screenshot of one of my drawings٫ I have to wait an entire 80 seconds (one minute twenty seconds). Plus٫ its the same EXACT reoccurring ad٫ just some kid drawing a cartoon٫ I'm fine with it being an ad to make the app more fun for drawing with iartbook pro٫ but at least change it up a bit so that it can be a different ad and not having to sit through it for long periods of time! Also٫ I like to listen to music when I draw٫ but when an ad plays it just stops the music٫ YET THE AD MAKES ZERO SOUND!!! Second٫ when I try to transform a layer٫ the way I change the layer is much more complicated than it used to be. I dont know how to explain it٫ but imagine a box around that layer your trying to transform٫ and there are rectangles on each side of that box and those rectangles are how you change the sides٫ the rectangles are thin and small٫ plus I cannot rotate it٫ but your probably thinking٫ "Oh well there's a rotate button on the side٫ use that!" well does it rotate it to be a smooth and clean animation? No it does not! So please do something about the new transform tools. Third٫ when I try to copy paste٫ an ad pops up and I cant copy paste my art unless I get I artbook pro!

5. 5/5I’m only giving this a five because…

   I used to absolutely LOVE this app, I mean there were some things that could of been added…But instead you guys didn’t even improve anything, you guys just put everything behind a paywall when this app was supposed to be free..I get it you want to improve and grow but I could get a better more improved art app for the money your charging just to do the basic things you should be able to regularly do, I mean maybe some things behind a paywall but saving your art?? Come on now, I wanted to post my art and become a young content creator but now..there’s really nothing I could do, I loved this app so much the brushes, quality all of that.. I thought I could just take a screenshot but no..you give me a 1m penalty? That’s so messed up man, I almost cried.. I wanted to be able to express my art and show it to the world and improve by getting opinions and so on.. don’t get me wrong I know there’s more apps but most aren’t free or as good. There’s so many more things behind a paywall aswell that I don’t really want to get into atm, but please just fix this I was so used to drawing on this app that now idk what to do. Please read this, I don’t mean this to tear down your app but please, make it how it used to be me and many more people would appreciate it, Thank you for reading.
