  1. 5/5Super Easy Interface , Great Community.

This app was super easy to use, there are workouts that are easy to replace and add when you’re in the gym and you need to use another piece of equipment. The app has a great interface, the timer on their tracks how long you’ve been working out. You also have a community on here although it is small it is still something that is absolutely fantastic to see and it’s great for engagement, even if it is a newer app. Even at the basic level, you’re able to create a couple routines that you can use as someone who is into bodybuilding I usually have a handful of workouts that I have to do and this is such a simple way of tracking for my coach and myself to see. Being able to see the weight tracker, seeing a waste tracker on there as well. I also find that the videos and directions on how to use certain pieces of equipment to be extremely helpful for new users. Also, I do find the app to be useful even if you’re doing at home workouts and only have dumbbells or small equipment or body weight exercise exercises. It does occasionally have sporting activities. You can add in addition to your workout, which I find to be very convenient as an additional tracking system. Again, I really love this app for the duality of having it like a social media platform strictly for working out and the engagement is super positive and motivating as everyone is here for the same thing which is just working out and sharing progress! Love the app I hope it continues to grow

  2. 5/5Absolutely great app, just has 1 little flaw in my eyes.

This app is dope. It’s easily functional and it gets the job done even with just the free option. I love that they have a one time purchase option for the advance features (which I haven’t bought yet but will 100%). It’s also very beginner friendly in the sense that they show you the motion of the exercises if you’re not familiar with them. And for the advance people that may be doing some less popular but effective exercises, they give you an option to create your own exercises if they don’t have it available. They do have a great amount of exercises already though. The analytic part of the app is amazing too. They show you how which body parts you’re working out and how much you’re working them out by session or even weekly if you want to, along with a bunch of other cool stats. The only thing that I don’t like is the fact that it’s no volume added to your total volume when doing body weight squats. I understand though, because the way you calculate body squats is different from every other exercise so it might be difficult to achieve mechanically through the app but I’m sure it’s not impossible, especially in today’s world lol. If this helps, it’s estimated that you are moving about 60%-70% of your bodyweight during a body squat. So just do “body weight x 0.65” and then further do the math depending on the sets and reps. If they change this the app is absolutely golden. Hopefully they see this and make the necessary adjustments. Still a 5 star app to me regardless

  3. 5/5Best workout app imaginable

Words can’t describe how much I love this app. For several years I used BodySpace religiously and loved it but in 2022 it kept crashing and it was clear they weren’t upkeeping it much anymore. I did some trials with a few other workout tracking apps and decided to stick with this one. I bought the lifetime membership (PLEASE don’t ever remove this option, its value is unbelievable). I track every lift meticulously and always have, and this app makes that effortless and intuitive. The graphs to track different kinds of progress are incredible for my fitness journey. I honestly can’t even think of a suggestion to improve it (and as much as I loved BodySpace, there was quite a few things I felt could be improved but they never did). I’m now working on retroactively adding all my workouts from BodySpace into Hevy (over 800 workouts so this will take a long time) - which made me realize I do have one suggestion! When editing the date when a workout took place, I really wish there was a dropdown to select the year. Right now I have to scroll back until the year I need (I’m adding 2016 workouts right now and that scroll takes quite a while). Huge props to everyone who develops this app. Lifting is a huge part of my life and having something as reliable and perfect as Hevy is an absolute game changer. I look forward to using it for the decades to come.

  4. 5/5Best workout tracking app I’ve tried

This is by far my favorite workout tracking app, and I’ve tried quite a few over the past year including the popular Strong app. You can tell that the creators of this app actually work out themselves because they know how important it is to be able to label drop sets, failure sets, supersets, etc, which you can do very easily within the app. It allows me to track everything I need, and when if it’s been a while since I did an exercise I can easily take a look at my history, view graphs of my strength progression over time, and so on. I started out with the free version but have since upgraded to the Lifetime membership because I needed to create more than 5 custom exercises since I do quite a few unusual calisthenics things, but most gym-goers can probably stick with the free version and have everything they need. The social feature - being able to follow other members - is also nice. That said, I wish there was a way to upload short video clips of workout sets so that there would be some somewhat verifiable proof of what people are lifting, rather than just having to blindly accept the weight people enter into the app as being true. But, this isn’t that important. The important thing for me is that this app allows me to easily track every aspect of my workout so that I can see my progression and know where I’m at.

  5. 5/5Finally found the right fitness app

Handwriting in a workout journal used to be my go to. Something about pen to paper really did it for me. As I got further into my workout journey, I would run into the issue of forgetting a pen or there wasn’t enough room for certain workouts. I had more than four or five sets. I downloaded almost every workout app there is. Most of them had a free trial for three days and to get the pro version of a lot of these, it was either too expensive or just not worth it altogether. The nice part about this app is the free version alone can give you everything you need. If you are like me and are in the gym six days a week working muscle groups twice. The pro version of this app is well worth the small fee for a year. I love that it creates a community of people. I love that I can compete with my friends. I love that feeling when my phone vibrates because I’ve said a personal record. There is not much that I think needs improvement at the moment other than the ability to compare more workouts. A dumbbell curl is a dumbbell curl. The weight should be the same across all gyms. That extremely minor thing is not worth giving this app any lower of a rating than five stars. Extremely well put together. Easy to create your own exercises if they are not already built in. It’s awesome to be able to put in warm up sets, supersets and sets to failure. You would think I work for the company with how much I promote it to my friends and family. Well done. I’m sure there will be updates to this app and I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes because whoever put this together did a killer job.
