1. 4/5Love it! But would recommend one improvement

   I think this app is wonderful. I got it specifically for the feature of weighing my baby after each breast-feeding session. I was concerned with my first baby not knowing if he got enough milk at each session, so for the second baby, I bought this wonderful product. I use it multiple times a day and use all the features on it. However, I’d like to suggest an improvement, on one of your existing features. As a busy mom, with a two-year-old, scrolling through the time feature to enter time takes longer than necessary. So, I’d like to suggest adding a manual tap entry rather than a scroll entry. The tap entry is available when baby is sleeping, and you want to edit in the moment. I love the tap entry because it’s so much quicker and saves me lots of time. I have all tap entry on a different baby tracking app that I really love, but rather than using two baby apps at a time, I’m now just using the hatch app. Would really love your consideration to add the tap entry feature rather than the scroll entry. Thank you so much for a very special product for parents.

2. 3/5Great app but has bugs and could use a few updates

   Love that the app tracks things and is so useful in helping determine how much our baby is eating at the breast with the weight feature. I will say that it does have bugs in that I can never delete data. For instance, I have accidentally saved a sleep session when my baby ended up continuing to sleep and I haven’t been able to delete it, the app just shuts down. Sometimes data gets duplicated and the app shuts down when I try to delete it. Also, it would be more beneficial if the record a feeding option would sync up with the timing of breastfeeding recording. For instance, I select the record a feeding option, go to the feedings section to record how long she’s eating per breast (bc who wants lop-sided boobs lol), burp my baby, and then weigh her. It’s beneficial to know the exact time between weighing (bc reflux and having to make sure I’m holding my baby long enough so she doesn’t lose her milk) and the exact time at each breast but that data won’t sync together and you can’t clear out the time, you have to save it. I would save it and then delete it but again the app shuts down and won’t delete anything. It would be cool if there was an option to set our babies nighttime sleep vs naps on the charting. It would also be beneficial to record exactly when we give our baby medicine instead of just a reminder. It would also be beneficial if you could set reminders for feeding, diaper changes, etc as this would be great in the newborn phase where babies, like premies, don’t always wake up every 2-3 hrs during the day to eat. This way you can do everything in the app, without having to set a separate alarm to make sure you’re awake to feed your baby. Lastly, some of the questionnaire questions are too personal and that’s weird that Hatch is asking. I get that you can skip them/don’t have to answer them at all but some of the questions are downright weird to ask at all.

3. 4/5Good app- survey questions poor

   The app itself is fine/good. I used it with 3 kids so far and with my first and second when I was nursing it was helpful in knowing how much they were eating (obviously the main point of the product/app). With my third baby, I was only nursing about once to twice a day before switching to completely exclusively pumping because he has a painful latch and wasn’t really improving. We still use the pad as a scale when we want to weigh him. But these survey questions in the app are so dumb to be honest because even though I am 100% a breastfeeding mom exclusively pumping, the questions will say like is your baby biting you (yes/no/im not breastfeeding). There should be a 4th option of none of these. There are so many questions that come up that the answers do not apply to my situation. Not just breastfeeding related questions. But it just is so annoying how It acts like there’s no other options besides nursing or “not breastfeeding” like as if people can’t combo feed with formula or partially nurse and partially bottle feed pumped milk. The question/answer writers for their surveys just need to be more inclusive in general bc if they’re actually trying to get an accurate response and idea of what people’s answers are, they need to provide more choices than their narrow minded options currently. Rant over 🙃

4. 4/5Great app for parents of newborns

   This app provided an excellent place for my wife and I to actually track our baby’s key activities so we could make data informed decisions for things like how to get baby to sleep and to track if we were feeding enough. This saved both of our minds from being completely sleep deprived AND helped us get our child on a regular sleeping/feeding pattern within a few weeks and then sleeping through the night after establishing the rhythm. We cannot recommend this app enough to friends and family who are either in the same stage or are thinking about having kids in the near future. That said, there are two areas of improvement for the app - (1) adding/syncing data while traveling on flights that cross time zones (or maybe even flights in general). Currently we needed to use screenshots to record our entries on the flight and then manually entered the data after turning off airplane mode. (2) Dark mode theme for nighttime entries. When opening the app in darkness, the white background is harsh on eyes that are used to the darkness of night.

5. 5/5I love this APP!

   When I first brought baby home I was worried about how much he was eating so when I found the Hatch scale I was totally excited! The scale works wonderfully batteries last forever and connection is never a problem. The one thing I wish this app had was a complimentary Apple Watch APP, this is the only reason why I’m still using another APP to track baby’s feedings sleep and pumping. Sometimes my phone is on the charger in the other room or we are out and about and it’s just inconvenient to pull out my phone for a feeding. It’s so much easier to just start a timer on my watch. Another thing I wish happened or was customizable somehow it what shortcuts are on the home screen. It’s cool that when I pump or weigh the baby those buttons show up, but I wish that Diapers would disappear since I have never made an entry there. Instead pumping disappears and I make entries in there all day. I wish diapers would at least move down on the list since I never press it. Another thing that is super frustrations is when you make a note, wish we had a little more space to write a little diary of the day, every time I try to add a note it tells me I can only use 255 characters and I spend the next 10 minutes trying to omit any words from my entry that might not be necessary Sometimes I just give up, there is no character count at the bottom, this would solve this problem of wasted time. Over all I love the APP and the scale I’m just waiting for that update that will add the Apple Watch APP. Please please please do it, it would be awesome to stop using that other app.
