groupme is usually my preferred group messaging app. I like the features it offers that some other apps might not have. there are a couple smaller things that I think would be nice, like seeing the “pending” responses on polls like you do on events, an option for people to rsvp to an event without joining the group, or being able to add more options to polls and more characters to event descriptions, but the actual ISSUE with the app is that it’s just so glitchy all the time. seems like there’s always some kinda of issue, messages not showing up has been a here and there issue in my experience for years, not as much lately but I just found out it happens to someone else in the chat and even just now there was something weird with a message I sent so I check the website and see it sent twice even though only the one without reactions is showing in my app. I’ll try reloading and restarting the app and it makes no difference. the biggest thing lately has been the albums. every time an album gets involved, the glitchiness magnifies by so much. when the albums first started I thought it was just because my app wasn’t up to date yet and since then I keep it up to date (also thinking eventually one of these new updates would fix it) and it’s still so glitchy

3/5Got kicked out for absolutely no reason- lost friends.
I have been using this app for only 5 months and it’s honestly been great. I’ve met many friends. I will say though- there are A LOT of predators and porn accessibility and I do not recommend the app for people under the age of 18 or even 25. There are many scams and bots. But- the reason I’m writing this- is because I got banned from group me for saying a stupid silly joke. (I called my friends a toe sucker- yes, I know, very immature. But certainly not a reason to be BANNED!) I got immediately locked out and did not even receive a reason. (Misleading) I tried logging in and it did not work- SO I tried to create a new account and it would not let me because my phone number is “invalid” and “not a real number.” So, I used one of my coaches number- who was very nice enough to offer- and once I created the account, it kept sending her number a bunch of messages and alerts about group me and text messages. I find it very frustrating and I spent a whole entire hour and a half trying to work it out just to end up deleting the new account and app in total. This also made me very sad and upset due to the fact that I had many friends and they probably think that I ghosted them. Very sad.

I get why it does it, but I really wish it didn’t automatically count the event host as an rsvp especially lately as the app and site have both been glitching to set your rsvp to yes after you remove it (I didn’t used to have this problem, so not sure why it’s happening now)

5/5Great App, but could be even better
This is a great app that I use every single day for a bunch of different group messages, but I feel like there are a few ways it could be improved to make it even more useful/ easier to use: Being able to view a picture from a notification without having to go into the app. It is very annoying to have to pull out my phone and go into the app to see the picture especially when I have an Apple Watch. It would be great to have an Apple Watch app to accommodate the iOS app. Along with being able to view a picture right from the notification this would be extremely useful with the new Apple Watch with cellular connectivity. Imagine if you are out going for a walk or run with just your Apple Watch Series 3 and someone sends you a picture. With the current system you would have to wait until you got home to view the picture. Another nice feature for the Apple Watch app would be the ability to see past messages instead of just the ones from notifications that go away when you tap on them. This would be just like how the messages app works on my Apple Watch.

Could y’all make it so that we can see which group a person belongs to in the notifications area? Specially the lock screen? Currently, if a GroupMe notification alerts your device, you only see the person’s name and not which group the person is from. It would be SOOO helpful, if I was able to see which group a person was chatting from without opening the app. For users involved in several groups with similar people, it’s critical to know which group the notification came from ASAP. iMessage has this feature and it is a lifesaver when you need to respond quickly. It’s like knowing it’s a friend from ‘hot yoga group’ asking about the last minute location change and not someone in your ‘biology study group’ asking were class is. Imagine being in different groups with people who have the same name! It’s so confusing when you read a message from John thinking it’s John your work supervisor when it’s really your best friend John sending you a picture of the roach he found in the bathtub. (Bc you cannot see pictures in the notifications which is another comment altogether). I still love this app! Best group messaging there is!

          "body": "I have been using this app for only 5 months and it’s honestly been great. I’ve met many friends. I will say though- there are A LOT of predators and porn accessibility and I do not recommend the app for people under the age of 18 or even 25. There are many scams and bots. But- the reason I’m writing this- is because I got banned from group me for saying a stupid silly joke. (I called my friends a toe sucker- yes, I know, very immature. But certainly not a reason to be BANNED!) I got immediately locked out and did not even receive a reason. (Misleading) I tried logging in and it did not work- SO I tried to create a new account and it would not let me because my phone number is “invalid” and “not a real number.” So, I used one of my coaches number- who was very nice enough to offer- and once I created the account, it kept sending her number a bunch of messages and alerts about group me and text messages. I find it very frustrating and I spent a whole entire hour and a half trying to work it out just to end up deleting the new account and app in total. This also made me very sad and upset due to the fact that I had many friends and they probably think that I ghosted them. Very sad.",

          "body": "This is a great app that I use every single day for a bunch of different group messages, but I feel like there are a few ways it could be improved to make it even more useful/ easier to use: Being able to view a picture from a notification without having to go into the app. It is very annoying to have to pull out my phone and go into the app to see the picture especially when I have an Apple Watch. It would be great to have an Apple Watch app to accommodate the iOS app. Along with being able to view a picture right from the notification this would be extremely useful with the new Apple Watch with cellular connectivity. Imagine if you are out going for a walk or run with just your Apple Watch Series 3 and someone sends you a picture. With the current system you would have to wait until you got home to view the picture. Another nice feature for the Apple Watch app would be the ability to see past messages instead of just the ones from notifications that go away when you tap on them. This would be just like how the messages app works on my Apple Watch.",

          "body": "Could y’all make it so that we can see which group a person belongs to in the notifications area? Specially the lock screen? Currently, if a GroupMe notification alerts your device, you only see the person’s name and not which group the person is from. It would be SOOO helpful, if I was able to see which group a person was chatting from without opening the app. For users involved in several groups with similar people, it’s critical to know which group the notification came from ASAP. iMessage has this feature and it is a lifesaver when you need to respond quickly. It’s like knowing it’s a friend from ‘hot yoga group’ asking about the last minute location change and not someone in your ‘biology study group’ asking were class is. Imagine being in different groups with people who have the same name! It’s so confusing when you read a message from John thinking it’s John your work supervisor when it’s really your best friend John sending you a picture of the roach he found in the bathtub. (Bc you cannot see pictures in the notifications which is another comment altogether). I still love this app! Best group messaging there is!",
