  1. 5/51 Month In & Never Looking Back

I didn’t realize how bad my shoulder and upper mobility was till I started to do oly lifts. I literally could barely get the bar over my head and squatted forward. It’s been a month and I’ve progressed so much! I loved that this app is catered to your individual needs… both mobility and what you’re working on that specific day. It’s very motivating to take a test and track how you progress over time. I was less sore after working out (and now more sore from being able to progress to larger weights in my oly lifts). I have recommended this app to everyone I lift with. As a beginner I would have never had any idea what to do to help. I checked out some of the larger books on mobility, however, really just need to have this on my home screen. I have two toddlers and I’ve also noticed a ton of difference in daily movements and my back feels so much better since getting more flexible. Thanks for the awesome app! It blows the other app out of the water that’s the main competitor.

  2. 5/5Great app overall

Love this app overall and I’m really glad you added challenges as it helps promote consistency, or at the very least getting a certain amount of mobility work in. Perhaps other users dictated the change, but I much preferred the smaller, segmented picker for selecting time when going to a specific movement/stretch in library. I would LOVE if you could move the Favorites scrollview to another spot. Perhaps, to the right of “Protocols” and “Library” in that segmented picker? Then allow a similar list view as is shown in the exercise list with the smaller pictures. Having more than a few favorites is maybe not the intent, but even like 10 can feel quite cumbersome to scroll across to get to one at the end of the line.

  3. 4/5Not Beginner Friendly

I’m a fairly athletic person and an avid runner, so I thought this would be a great app to help me improve my mobility. The interface and usability is good, but I was disappointed to find that many of the stretches/exercises are overly complicated and difficult to the point that I can’t even do them on the ‘easy mode’. Most of these are targeting basic muscle groups that could easily be covered with a simpler movement. There is also no way to mark specific stretches/movements as not wanted, so I’m running into the same movements that I can’t do or are painful to do in every single session. If I was flexible enough to do these workouts I wouldn’t need the app in the first place.

  4. 3/5The new app is buggy

Ever since the app redesign, a number of bugs have surfaced in the “Daily” training protocol. If I select a 22 minute session, sometimes I get a 15 minute session. It’ll stop auto-advancing between exercises; this seems to occur more frequently if I skipped an exercise earlier in the session. It’s as if interacting with the session throws it off. Sometimes the labeled time and the timer do not line up; i.e. the movement could be labeled “3 mins each side”, but the timer will count down from 2 minutes. Finally, at the end of a session, sometimes it’ll end on a screen with a bunch of “undefined” labels. C’mon guys. All of these add up to a relatively frustrating UX, when all I’m trying to do is relax and recover. It’s doubly frustrating because the app was so perfect before the redesign.

  5. 4/5Good stretches, but I wish I could personalize more

Yes, there are new specific flows, but I still think this app lacks a lot of personalization. Here’s a list of things I wish they would improve: 1) Allow the user to choose the workout time. The current options are 8, 15, and 22 minutes (excuse me if I left a couple times out). Why can’t I do a 12 minute session? Or a 35 minute session? Session duration should be left up to the user. 2) Customizable stretch times. Sometimes, the sessions want you to hold a position for 3 minutes. This is helpful at times but can be an annoyance at others. I think an option of “no positions longer than x minutes” would be a great improvement. 3) customizable equipment. Frequently, on the pre and post WOD modes, the sessions require items ranging from a foam roller, lacrosse ball, PVC pipe, and/or barbell. The user should be able to tell you what they have at their disposal and make a protocol off of that. Overall, I think this app is a great tool for improving mobility, possible one of the best on the market. But the lack of customizability is bothersome.
