2/5Would purchase without subscription
Notes are something that I use on a daily basis and I know that it is something I will always use for the foreseeable future but I can’t justify spending $12 yearly when I could buy a moleskin notebook once and have it forever. There is absolutely no need for the subscription when apple products are already charging monthly for iCloud storage. The selling point just isn’t there. There is no doubt the developers did wonders with the application and deserve the recognition and pay but a one time fee will be sufficient it’s not like they invented the wheel here. It’s a note taking app that saves to a cloud hmm where have I seen this before oh right my free notes app developed by apple. Again it is still a fantastic application with such a seamless workflow definitely worth something but not worth $12 yearly for as long as I decide to write notes in it. Note to the developers I believe releasing the app in this manner will allow your audience “users” to grow but a set price within the app will not only increase your ratings but therefore increase earnings the more popular it gets. Now I’m not saying lowball the price by any means because the work is worth it. From a consumer perspective the subscription option completely deters me from even engaging with the app at all. I think a fabulous example of the popularity and growth this application can have is notability. This app has absolutely crushed it for a couple years running in the App Store. I do believe the app has potential and if this change is made you’ve got my money and a change in review!

5/5Not like other note/sketch apps—and that’s good!
I use Procreate and GoodNotes for when I need to get really in depth with my notes or drawing. I’ve been craving an app that has a beautiful, intuitive interface and is simple enough for me to quickly open and use it. Flow is inviting for someone somewhat unartistic as me to use, but I can also see its implications for more detailed sketching. I consider that this app is freshly made and so many features are on the way, and the team of developers is attentive to community suggestions although it is a small team. You can tell a good app by its developer response, so I have a lot of hope for the future of this one. I’m going to use the app more as it evolves, but I’m very pleased now. As to anyone who claims the app is too expensive—$12 once a year is not too much to pay if you pay about that much for a notebook you use in your hands from a bookstore. This app is a well executed attempt to emulate that personal experience with a paper notebook. That’s not easy, but it’s one of the reasons I purchased my iPad Pro with pencil. And if you’re a user that has the same intent as me, who’s already spent $900 or so on an iPad and pencil for that experience, another $12 every year is well worth it for the value returned. Thank you!

4/5Don’t add much, just make it better.
Learn from 53, Flow team. Once upon a time there was an app called Paper, by 53. It failed to improve and progress the way it’s users needed it to and now it’s a piece of crap. You guys are riding a very thin line with having minimal tools and options while still remaining relevant and having a very elegant app that’s a joy to use. As long as apps like Procreate exist, where you only pay once and can be as “pro” or as basic as you want with it, Flow is going to be a challenging sell. You’re riding on brand and aesthetics and that may not carry you forever. But I get the vision of Flow and I personally love it. I’m a graphic designer, so it’s nice having a digital space to draw and think while not worrying about layers or being too granular with my sketches. Flow gives me permission to be messy, and I like that. The paper formats are nice, I’ve found myself using the ruled format from time to time to take notes since Flow has my favorite interface (and sounds!) of any drawing app...so why not? Tools are great, I love the color picker and lack of total freedom while still having a TON of options. I don’t feel restricted with color. I’d be wary with adding much in the way of functionality, but new tools from time to time would be fun. I’m looking forward to the app getting better at what it already does as opposed to becoming more feature-heavy.

5/5Professional Game Artist is a HUGE Fan!
I love this app! While apps like ArtStudio Pro, Infinite Painter and Procreate are the go to’s for mobile professional level concept, illustration and sketching, this app offers a completely unique and wonderful experience! No fuss, just iteration and ideation...just like a real sketchbook. The infinite pages is amazing for concepting hundreds of ideas without settings and layers getting in the way. If you are looking for a professional painting app, look at the other big players. But if you want to DESIGN, without worry, just you and your page, uninterrupted, this app is definitely for you. I will be recommending this heavily to my peers in Film and Games, especially those working on new projects during the visual development and world building phase. The way that exporting works is fantastic! I half want a ruler and eclipse tool, but a real sketch book doesn’t have those things (though I will use a straight edge regularly in mine)..so I also think I am ok without them. My only real complaint is that I wish the markers didn’t blend so hard, especially as they are the primary feature of the app. But overall this is a win. Glad I discovered it. I will use it daily in a professional and personal capacity.

5/5Tools stop working, crashes, clip totally tool broken
This app is extremely frustrating in that it does everything I need but this recent build is totally unstable (and I’m paying for it!) Seems to bug out after I use the eraser tool, the board stops receiving input, though I can change tools. I’m having to restart the app every 2-3 minutes. I’m surprised this build passed internal+apple review. If this continues, I will be asking for my money back. Long-term issue – Clipping Tool (needs to be fixed) With this app you can draw, erase and change colors. No rulers, no guides, no mirroring. The only reason this app is better than a paper notebook is because you can theoretically edit drawings, except the tool used to select and move parts of your drawing is completely broken. You might highlight something in the bottom left and it grabs something in the top right also, or just entirely erases sections of your drawing, and even worse, with so many crashes, my drawings will often be saved with these destroyed artifacts. Reviews show this has been an issue for a long time, so I don’t expect this to actually get fixed at this point. Makes this app unusable for my professional needs.

It's pretty cold in Canada where our lead Flow engineer Adam has been bunkered down rebuilding the Flow drawing engine from the ground up. It's been a mammoth effort but he's emerged with some truly amazing results which will unlock the next generation of Flow features. Pages load so fast now that it's actually taken us a bit of time to get used to it. Is that irony? We aren't entirely sure. The important thing is no more waiting as you move around your document. - Super responsive drawing. The tools now work even faster than we thought possible. It really does feel like ink is flowing out as fast as you can write and draw. - Buttery smooth panning. Panning around documents in this new engine is so smooth it's simply a joy. - Zoom in way, way further. You can now zoom in 10 times further than before. 10! - More accurate selecting and erasing. The lasso and eraser tools now work much more precisely, so it's easier to draw around or remove just the strokes you want. - Better drawing resolution. The page now displays at full resolution all the time, so you'll no longer see unsightly changes in resolution as you draw new strokes. This could happen before, especially with tools like the crayon. - Sharper background patterns. Grids, dots, and lines now stay crisp no matter how far in you go. - Better correction pen. This tool now has a better edge, supports layers, and with Apple Pencil shows a live preview of how it will erase. The page scrubber has been retired. "body": "Notes are something that I use on a daily basis and I know that it is something I will always use for the foreseeable future but I can’t justify spending $12 yearly when I could buy a moleskin notebook once and have it forever. There is absolutely no need for the subscription when apple products are already charging monthly for iCloud storage. The selling point just isn’t there. There is no doubt the developers did wonders with the application and deserve the recognition and pay but a one time fee will be sufficient it’s not like they invented the wheel here. It’s a note taking app that saves to a cloud hmm where have I seen this before oh right my free notes app developed by apple. Again it is still a fantastic application with such a seamless workflow definitely worth something but not worth $12 yearly for as long as I decide to write notes in it. Note to the developers I believe releasing the app in this manner will allow your audience “users” to grow but a set price within the app will not only increase your ratings but therefore increase earnings the more popular it gets. Now I’m not saying lowball the price by any means because the work is worth it. From a consumer perspective the subscription option completely deters me from even engaging with the app at all. I think a fabulous example of the popularity and growth this application can have is notability. This app has absolutely crushed it for a couple years running in the App Store. I do believe the app has potential and if this change is made you’ve got my money and a change in review!",

"title": "Not like other note/sketch apps—and that’s good!",
"body": "I use Procreate and GoodNotes for when I need to get really in depth with my notes or drawing. I’ve been craving an app that has a beautiful, intuitive interface and is simple enough for me to quickly open and use it. Flow is inviting for someone somewhat unartistic as me to use, but I can also see its implications for more detailed sketching. I consider that this app is freshly made and so many features are on the way, and the team of developers is attentive to community suggestions although it is a small team. You can tell a good app by its developer response, so I have a lot of hope for the future of this one. I’m going to use the app more as it evolves, but I’m very pleased now. As to anyone who claims the app is too expensive—$12 once a year is not too much to pay if you pay about that much for a notebook you use in your hands from a bookstore. This app is a well executed attempt to emulate that personal experience with a paper notebook. That’s not easy, but it’s one of the reasons I purchased my iPad Pro with pencil. And if you’re a user that has the same intent as me, who’s already spent $900 or so on an iPad and pencil for that experience, another $12 every year is well worth it for the value returned. Thank you!",

"title": "Don’t add much, just make it better.",
"body": "Learn from 53, Flow team. Once upon a time there was an app called Paper, by 53. It failed to improve and progress the way it’s users needed it to and now it’s a piece of crap. You guys are riding a very thin line with having minimal tools and options while still remaining relevant and having a very elegant app that’s a joy to use. As long as apps like Procreate exist, where you only pay once and can be as “pro” or as basic as you want with it, Flow is going to be a challenging sell. You’re riding on brand and aesthetics and that may not carry you forever. But I get the vision of Flow and I personally love it. I’m a graphic designer, so it’s nice having a digital space to draw and think while not worrying about layers or being too granular with my sketches. Flow gives me permission to be messy, and I like that. The paper formats are nice, I’ve found myself using the ruled format from time to time to take notes since Flow has my favorite interface (and sounds!) of any drawing app...so why not? Tools are great, I love the color picker and lack of total freedom while still having a TON of options. I don’t feel restricted with color. I’d be wary with adding much in the way of functionality, but new tools from time to time would be fun. I’m looking forward to the app getting better at what it already does as opposed to becoming more feature-heavy.",

"title": "Professional Game Artist is a HUGE Fan!",
"body": "I love this app! While apps like ArtStudio Pro, Infinite Painter and Procreate are the go to’s for mobile professional level concept, illustration and sketching, this app offers a completely unique and wonderful experience! No fuss, just iteration and ideation...just like a real sketchbook. The infinite pages is amazing for concepting hundreds of ideas without settings and layers getting in the way. If you are looking for a professional painting app, look at the other big players. But if you want to DESIGN, without worry, just you and your page, uninterrupted, this app is definitely for you. I will be recommending this heavily to my peers in Film and Games, especially those working on new projects during the visual development and world building phase. The way that exporting works is fantastic! I half want a ruler and eclipse tool, but a real sketch book doesn’t have those things (though I will use a straight edge regularly in mine)..so I also think I am ok without them. My only real complaint is that I wish the markers didn’t blend so hard, especially as they are the primary feature of the app. But overall this is a win. Glad I discovered it. I will use it daily in a professional and personal capacity.",

"title": "Tools stop working, crashes, clip totally tool broken",
"body": "This app is extremely frustrating in that it does everything I need but this recent build is totally unstable (and I’m paying for it!) Seems to bug out after I use the eraser tool, the board stops receiving input, though I can change tools. I’m having to restart the app every 2-3 minutes. I’m surprised this build passed internal+apple review. If this continues, I will be asking for my money back. Long-term issue – Clipping Tool (needs to be fixed) With this app you can draw, erase and change colors. No rulers, no guides, no mirroring. The only reason this app is better than a paper notebook is because you can theoretically edit drawings, except the tool used to select and move parts of your drawing is completely broken. You might highlight something in the bottom left and it grabs something in the top right also, or just entirely erases sections of your drawing, and even worse, with so many crashes, my drawings will often be saved with these destroyed artifacts. Reviews show this has been an issue for a long time, so I don’t expect this to actually get fixed at this point. Makes this app unusable for my professional needs.",

It’s fun to use, with a rich, textured look that’s perfect for adding warmth and personality to sketches, notes, and illustrations. Find it by opening the Tool Editor and scrolling to the bottom of the tool types. Colours Create colour variations When you tap Add Colour in the Colours Panel, you’ll now see tint, shade, and harmonic variations — giving you quick, ready-to-use options without having to adjust them manually. To tidy up, simply press and hold on a colour until it pops away. Create colours from an image Turn inspiration into action by generating a colour set from any image. Open the Colours Panel options menu, tap the image button, and Flow will pick the most prominent colours so you can instantly create palettes that match your photo, artwork, or design mood. Reference images Keep your reference material right where you can see it without cluttering your document. Pin images above your page by dragging them in from another app or using the Add button in the top menu. Reference images stay visible while you work but aren’t saved to your document. Key colours from the image are shown automatically — tap to use one instantly, or import them all. The Colour Eyedropper works directly on reference images. You can also “pop out” an image from your document: select it with the Lasso Knife, then tap the pin icon. Pencil Pro squeeze Apple Pencil Pro users can now customise the squeeze gesture to switch to eraser, select with the Lasso Knife, or open the Tool Editor — so your favourite tools are always just a squeeze away. When it is off, those buttons are available from the drop down menu at the top left of the screen. • Liquid Glass design: Panels can now match your document’s Paper color, switch to Black, or use Liquid Glass. With Liquid Glass the interface melts away even more as you see through it to your canvas. Adjust tint, frosting, and shadows in \"Interface Options\". • Command Menu on iPad: Swipe down from the top of the screen to quickly access common features. • Enhanced windowing on iPad: With OS26 you can now resize and position Flow windows more precisely for better multitasking. And in case you missed it: • Crayon tool: A new drawing tool that gives your lines a textured, hand-drawn feel. It is fun to sketch with and perfect for adding personality to your notes and illustrations. Find it at the bottom of the Tool Editor. • Reference Images: Pin an image above your page as a temporary overlay for inspiration or notes.
