   This is my go to food/grocery delivery app! We are about one hour away from Houston and due to COVID we can’t go to Houston as often as usual. Luckily Chowbus deliever food and grocery to out town! Can you imagine how much this make our lives more convenient?!! I can’t thank enough to the people who operate the chowbus platform and the drivers who make this happened!! The most amazing part is that you can order from 3-4 different restaurants at once and only pay one time service fee and have those food delivered to you within one order! And even better thing is if you are a member delivery fee is waived and there is a 10% off of your order. I remember once I ordered from 4 different restaurants. And within a few hours my table is filled with all different kinds of delicious food! Seriously people I ordered from FOUR different restaurants! At that point I didn’t have boba milk tea for like 2 months and when it gets to my hand it’s still ice cold! If someone ask me to define what happiness is I would say this is what I call happiness and satisfaction. One thing to mention, Chowbus bundled restaurants for you and I think they choose the ones that are close to each other and in the same plaza. So it’s not like you can order any food from any restaurants that you like but that does not prevent me from giving it a five stars! In fact I joined their membership without a heart beat. It’s no brainer. Monthly membership fee is $10 and one time delivery fee is like $4. So if you order 3 times a month it’s already worth it. Experience of ordering food in Chowbus is also beyond excellence. Not like the other food delivery app, Chowbus offers good image of the food so when you order you know exactly what it looks like! Can’t speak enough of how excellent this app is. I just love it!

2. 5/5Chowbus: Delivery and Customer’s Perspective

   My name is Sam and I’ve been a customer and a delivery driver for Chowbus since the day they opened here in Houston on May 8th. The entire experience for me has been extremely rewarding. As a delivery driver, I’ve gotten to see Chowbus take off here in Houston, and I’ve watched with a smile as they’ve grown these last few months. As a customer, I’ve loved being able to learn of foods and try them; foods that had previously never been in my line of sight. I read some articles about Chowbus’ co-founder’s hope that this service would help the American audience get to view, try, and ultimately love authentic Asian food. Personally, I can happily and proudly say that his hope was my experience. I’ve been extremely happy to help be part of a team that delivers food to customers in the local and surrounding areas of Houston. The Chowbus Delivery support team and management have also been amazing. The entire delivery system is simple and easy, the customers have been kind, and management is kind and understanding. Steven, Meilin, Peiting, Debbie, Serena, and Michael to name a few. I have to give a big special thank you to Michael G. He’s been extremely helpful, kind, and understanding since day one of my journey with Chowbus. He’s been able to help me with scheduling and other small problems that have arisen when delivering. An amazing guy and an awesome team. I’m proud to be a part of the Chowbus team, and I look forward with great eagerness to the future of Chowbus. Sam

3. 1/5Terrible service and food never delivered on time

   I had this terrible experience that my order was late for almost 2 hour and when I finally got it, 1 item was missing....the customer service was completely helpless. After a very messy, tedious and rude conversation, they didn’t solve the problem at all. After waiting for 2hs and no ETA provided, the customer service suggested me to pick up the order by myself...seriously, I really don’t get this. I told them I wouldn’t be able to pick up the order the. they suggested to cancel my order....I mean, I kind of get it, but could you, the customer service, at least to try to solve the problem like call the restaurant and communicate with them? And this is not the end of my nightmare. About 4hs later, I finally got my food, and found out one item was missing!? They didn’t inform me anything! Can you imagine after 4hs waiting and you still don’t get all your food delivered! And the only response they had for this completely messed up order was a $5 credit, available to use in my next order. Do you seriously think I gonna use the service again after this terrible experience? Except all the aforementioned experiences, I don’t feel any special of being a paid member of them. They just don’t know how to value their customers...time means nothing to them. If you don’t value your time and wanna your day be ruined, go ahead and get this app. Otherwise try other food delivery service.

4. 1/5Horrible customer service

   Chowbus itself is a decent app. But it has the most terrible customer service of all. I lived in Houston area and placed an order of Chinese food for my boyfriend in Boston for festival. However, there is no rice but entrees delivered here. I contacted with the customer service “Vivian” immediately. She told me that on the very very bottom of the menu (u have to scroll all the way down there, and trust me it is an extremely long menu), there is a rice option and it said “don’t forget to order the rice~”. I showed her several other restaurants’ menus on Chowbus that either provide free rice with entree by default or have clearly labeled “extra charge on rice” on an obvious place of the menu. She told me those restaurants are in Houston but not Boston. So what’s special about all those Chinese restaurants in Boston? Are their rice supposed to be extra charged by default? Aren’t their responsibility to notify their customer about this before they place an order using their app? My conversation with this “Vivian” wasted me more than half an hour, and during which she did not try to solve my problem but kept trying to convince me that all the restaurants in Boston are special and their entrees won’t go with rice unless they r labeled “entree with rice”. It was ur own fault that you were not familiar with the “no rice” local unspoken rules simply because you don’t live there. Well, thanks to her, I will never forget to order extra rice in the future. I will never use Chowbus again and I will share my story with everyone I know to prevent them from having such unpleasant experience. One star for u, bye.

   While I am so happy to see an Asian-specific food delivery app come to life, I wish they would have given their staff additional training on customer service. Although delivery Apps such as Grubhub and DoorDash tend to take too much of the proceeds from the restaurants, overcharge for deliveries, and inflate the prices by 50%, one thing they do right is customer service. And that’s why so many keep continue to order using their services. I had one small issue with order and wanted to chat with someone. I wanted the company to be aware of the situation because other customers could experience the same issue. I was met with very rude and condescending attitude and he/she didn’t care to hear my experience at all. Their answer/resolve to my issue was, “You could just ask.” Doesn’t sound very rude right but once you see the context you will understand I was fuming. And the fact that he/she would say, “And again, yada yada” and try to show me screen shots of something they thought was logical when it wasn’t for me. This is only my 3rd time ordering and perhaps I could have just asked. But who wants to chat with customer service on every order? Instructions should be clear and promotions should be clear with instructions on how to redeem. This is plain and simple. I don’t need rude service and I’d hope you guys would learn to brush up on your customer service so you can thrive. I really am rooting for you guys.
