1/5Horrible and pointless
The security at Equate is brutal. Upon creating my account, it wouldn’t accept my 50 character password as “too common and easy to guess” and instead made me reduce it to a weaker 12 character password. Then it forced me to use this app to approve every login rather than a standard 2FA app. I log in about once a year to get my tax docs, so surely the next time I update my phone I’ll be locked out of my account. Fantastic. My company forces me to use Equate so I can’t just move elsewhere unfortunately.

1/5Device Protection Error when Developer Mode is on
I always get an error saying Device Protection error when downloading this app. I think this is because I have developer mode on. This is absurd, since most other banking and security apps do not do this as they recognize this is not a security issue. As an app developer myself I need this mode enabled. I understand blocking jailbroken devices, but this is absurd. My iPhone is running the latest iOS version and the latest update of this app. Could never get this to work.

What is this app for? You can’t do anything with it. You can’t see the account, balance or anything like that. Is anyone watching this app. Everyone is having the same issue and it looks like nobody is doing anything about it.

1/5QR scan doesn’t work
Upon first open of the app, I was prompted to give camera access. I hit “allow”. The QR scan function opened to a black box. I checked settings, I reset the app, and I deleted/redownloaded the app. Still a black box. iPhone 16 with iOS 26.3
