4/5(kinda) good app
Overall, the app is really good to mess and have fun with, including copying cadences off from MuseScore. Although, some of the features can be quite buggy. Sometimes, the split feature can just freeze and losing a part of my progress in the process, and also the fact that some of my save files like to “duplicate” themselves for some reason. Again, good app, but might need some testing in the near future.

2/5The new update ruined it
This app was amazing before the new update. The main issue for me at least is how choppy everything is now. The audio stutters in almost every measure and makes it hard to listen to. The new sounds aren’t bad imo but it does make the cymbal line sound weird. The cymbal sounds bleed into each other which sounds odd. It also seems like the files have doubled in size too. This is a good app but definitely needs some more tweaking to make it great again

4/5Developer has listened! There’s just one more thing
Before, the update prevented me from opening my older files, I couldn’t hear anything unless I had head phones in and everything became janky. Now, all of those issues are gone! This app is awesome and I’m glad you’re keeping it in good condition! -my last request is to simply revert the sound of the snares. They lost the amazing tune sound they had. If there’s an option to revert, please make it available!

3/5It’s not bad
The instruments aren’t entirely clear and some effects (rimshots) aren’t very different from the other. Also there aren’t half note rolls only eighth note which is very annoying and you can’t tie rolls to other notes. So in in reality there are no rolls in this app only buzzes. Also come on $20 for this. I’ve gotten free apps that were better than this. I’m 15 and I just spent all the money I had on this to get a mediocre app. If you want me to be happy and if you want five stars from me your gonna have to fix all of the problems I stated.

4/5Potential
This app has so many amazing and great qualities. I’ve read through some reviews, before and after I bought it, but I can say this for sure: “Nothing else like it.” The app implements so many unique features that many apps don’t. I’ve had this for about a year and a half and I’ve gotten help from it by doing so many things. I do have some suggestions though: 1) The tempo seems to be a bit off. I checked with a real time metronome, and what was the apps 60BPM was actually 47. It may be an issue on my end, but it’s still a bug. 2) An undo button is very needed. I find my self slipping up a bit (especially with split and tempo adjustment slide) and having to redo all of it. It’d be so much easier if I could just press a back button to keep it where it was. 3) It’d be cool if there was an option to just have solos. I find myself writing a lot for only snare, and it’s sorta hard to follow along when the bass, tenors, and cymbal’s empty spots are also there. 4) The distinctions in sound varies with what you’re trying to do, but some can be a drag due to sound quality. So maybe improving how each drum sounds would be great. 5) Finally, maybe being able to add a repeat for larger sections. I know there’s a repeat button, but there are some larger sections that would take a long time to do that with. I know this is a lot of stuff, but I don’t expect all of this to be added or much even make it. But they’re just for future thought. The app as is stands can do so much, but there’s also so much potential. Hopefully some things here are a little discussion over there. Thanks!

What’s New In Ensemble Ensemble has been rebuilt around a faster, more reliable writing and playback experience for marching percussion composers. Recent updates improve audio stability, notation flexibility, MusicXML export accuracy, document handling, and the overall editor workflow. Native Playback Engine Playback now uses a more robust native audio path designed for tighter timing, smoother start/stop behavior, and better reliability during rapid playback changes. Practice mode volume balancing, section muting, and loop playback have all been refined to make rehearsing individual parts feel more natural. Practice Mode Practice Mode lets you spotlight one section or bass drum while reducing the volume of the rest of the ensemble. It now includes a clear on-screen indicator and can be turned off directly from the editor. Practice settings reset automatically when closing a file so each document opens cleanly. Modern Editor Menus Core editor menus have been redesigned for a cleaner, more consistent interface. Improved MusicXML Export MusicXML export is more accurate for complex subdivisions, chords, rests, and unusual rhythmic divisions. Recent fixes ensure chord notes share correct durations and that longer note values, export cleanly instead of being fragmented into incorrect rests and shorter notes. Better Document Workflow The home screen and document browser experience have been refined with clearer branding, improved legibility, and recent-file access.
