1. 4/5sure beats metronome; needs combining feature

   I think this is a great app, i use it every day during my warm-up session on chord scales, the only thing I think could be added to this for little effort but huge benefit would be a way to combine the patterns so that we’re not just listening to the same two measures but rather have the ability to take three or four of the patterns and specify an order for them and maybe number of measures before it switches to the next one, that way no additional transcribing needs to be done but rather just a way to combine them and of course they would all be subject to the same tempo. Other than that I think it’s great and I’m glad it’s here and I hope you make a lot of money and make some good friends.

2. 5/5Finally, a great beats metronome.

   Finally someone made a polished app using drum beats instead of a basic metronome click. I’m a professional classical musician and while I’ll still need to get out the tempo advanced app every now and then to do more complex subdivisions, for everyday basic practice with a backing click for time keeping this app is WAY MORE FUN to use Fun = practicing longer. I’ve tried a bunch of apps trying to do this over the years but none came close to this. It’s easy to change beats, to hear samples, and most important to adjust the speed and pitch of the track. The pricing is reasonable and there’s a lot of great choices. Most important, the interface is silky smooth and polished which makes using it a breeze. A+ well done devs! One suggestion: I purchased the 50 credit pack, but now I’m thinking I may want to get all of them. I wish there were a way to “complete your collection” at a discounted rate that totals the full price.l instead of having to pay for the full price in addition to what I already paid.

3. 5/5Better than my drummer

   Drumgenius is fantastic! It’s very easy to find the loop you want from its large catalog; and the feel is awesome, I literally can’t stop jamming to it. The Drumgenius loops have a very human, natural feel--not mechanical at all. Much better than any drum machine; and frankly, it’s better than most drummers I’ve played with over that last 40 years! As stated by many great musicians, such as Michael Breker and Pat Metheny, having good time is an essential skill for every musician. Play any notes you like, but phrase them well, and it sounds nice. Drumgenius is the perfect App to help a musician develop this vital skill of “good time!” Metronomes are fine, but Drumgenius is fun and educational. The diverse collection of awesome loops provides a fantastic practice tool for the serious Jazz improvisationalist, and the developer is extremely responsive. He responded to my question in less than 10 minutes! The software performs flawlessly, you will not be disappointed!

4. 5/5Amazing realism!

   I am not a drummer. I am an amateur musician who wants to play against rhythmic backgrounds. DrumGenius was recommended to me by my professional musician friends — drummers and flute/sax players — as the best selection around for realistic drum loops. Instead of trying to pick and choose, I downloaded all 400. What fun! There is one rhythmic feel I can’t find in DrumGenius and I can’t find in other sources, and would love to have it available on DrumGenius. It’s a jazz feel — simple brushes in a swing style. You may not be a jazz drummer, but if you would check out Beegie Adair Trio’s style on The Good Life or Oscar Peterson’s Quartet, tune You Look Good to Me - you’ll get the idea. Second question, is there a way to export a loop from DrumGenius to an app like GarageBand? If that’s not possible, is there another way to think about how to write, for example, a duet with two flutes and have the drum loop for the background? Thanks so much!

5. 5/5Great app; would be great to use it live

   This is the only really musical drum app I’ve heard. While many developers and manufacturers make drum pattern tempos adjustable over the entire metronome range, Mauro has chosen to limit the adjustable range to that which retains the authentic feel of each pattern. While some drum apps and machines have a huge number of patterns, most of which are musically unusable, ALL the patterns in DrumGenius are actually usable for practice or even performance. IMO, one thing that would greatly improve the app would be the ability to start and stop patterns with a foot-switch, which would make DrumGenius practical for performance.
