1. 1/5“A bit of a stumble”

   I guarantee they are using a firm that used “AI” to blindly revamp this app because for a machine it is considered functioning for a caring human it does not give the options and details for convenience comfort and peace of mind that is needed. The Dec 2025 update offers Zero fixes for widgets or watch. I am convinced Dexcom no longer uses human developers and now relies on slop “AI” to just make an app work but not actually function as a person would need it to, then uses the same AI to spit out cookie cutter responses to consumer issues. Insult to injury it also logs you out without you knowing since you can’t have a widget open to monitor. UPDATE!!! latest version released still doesn’t have a widget keeping it absolutely worthless! Upgrade to the new app if you want a different icon and less features. Widget is gone making it worthless to use to monitor from your home screen. iOS 26 just started letting you use the Follow widget on CarPlay this new 2025 revision will remove all the widget covenances, Also NO Watch support, it’s not there 0 point 0 ability to use on your Apple Watch, this sets the app back 4 years of not 5. No CarPlay feature No Watch app but hey you get a new icon. btw it tells you when you delete the original follow app it’s done, gone, and will be removed from App Store so no going back.

2. 3/5Mom of Diabetic Teen

   We’ll see…I don’t understand how they are keeping his privacy why they are having users sign in with the teens contact info rather than their own. (Do they reset when they become an adult? It should be easier to select users you want to follow you and drop off users you don’t want following you.). Also logging in to their account gives you the same screen as them but it’s not telling you how long since it has updated. The previous app shows you how many minutes since the last update which helped us figure out when it was glitching and not giving accurate data. It also helps you see how many more minutes until a refresh. They happen ever 5 min and if it went past that you could see the trouble. Now you can’t tell. Seems a backwards step but with a few changes it could be really helpful. Another concern is that the new sign in process is possibly going to have problems that if I select sounds and notifications my worry is it will change them for my husband or son as well which is a problem in so many ways. What if someone silences alerts and it silences the other user? What if my choice of sounds hep me recognize highs vs lows vs urgent lows? If I change to my sounds won’t it change my dons as well since they signed me in ahis rather than mine?

3. 1/5The Update is Dangerous

   My wife has T1D and I’ve been following her blood sugars through the dexcom follow app for years. The moment the old app was replaced with the new version, several atrocious changes were made. Probably the most egregious change was the removal of Home Screen widgets. There fact that users have to open the app in order to view blood sugars has totally ruined my ability to help my wife maintain her blood sugar. On top of this, the inability to have notifications stop repeating unless blood sugars get back in range is also absolutely infuriating for both me and my wife. These alerts should be used to notify users if a blood sugar is out of range and once that high or low has been addressed or treated, the repeating notifications should be able to be disabled. I wouldn’t even be upset if I had to actually open the app in order to stop the notifications, but even that doesn’t work in this current version. Overall, this new app makes assisting a diabetic loved one much more painstaking than it was for years using the old app. Diabetes is already so difficult to manage, I cannot understand any justification behind some of the changes made. Do better Dexcom. Money cannot be the excuse either with how much G7s cost even with health insurance. No excuse.

4. 1/5Old follow app worked better

   There are several problems that make this app nearly unusable compared to the previous iteration. 1) there is no longer a widget available meaning the whole app must be opened in order to get current BG values. 2) if the app is opened from a notification, it no longer pauses continued notifications for any amount of time. This means I continue to get notifications every 5 minutes until the situation is resolved. This is particularly dangerous for me because notifications on the watch also do not auto dismiss if the watch is active, which it frequently is while I’m using it to take vitals on my patients. This means I have to take hands off of my patient to dismiss the notification that shouldn’t have come up in the first place because I’ve already opened the app and it should have acknowledged that I did so and paused further notifications. 3) the watch widget only offers trend lengths of 1, 3, and 6 hours. In addition, it would be great if we could have a record of how long the sensor has left so we can help prompt the person whose BG we are following to change it quickly to avoid long gaps in data.

   As a family where both my son and I are living with Type 1 diabetes, the removal of the iOS Home Screen Widget is a significant setback for our daily management. For a T1D parent who is also managing their own condition, the ability to see readings at a glance is not just a convenience—it is a critical safety tool. Managing two T1D profiles requires constant monitoring. The original Follow app’s widget allowed me to check my son’s levels alongside my own without the friction of unlocking my phone, navigating to the app, and waiting for it to refresh. This "at-a-glance" visibility is essential for catching highs and lows early, especially during busy school days or throughout the night. While I understand the app has been updated for better performance, the omission of the widget functionality on iOS directly impacts our ability to manage our health safely and efficiently. Are there immediate plans to restore the iOS widget for the Follow app? I strongly urge your team to prioritize this feature for families managing multiple T1D diagnoses who rely on Dexcom for peace of mind. Thank you for your commitment to the T1D community.
