1. 5/5Helps remind me about things that I have to do

   When I got my Invisline my first scan was SUPER late but eventually I got the hang of remembering the date of my next scan. Now I have been doing well on my teeth progress, and badge progress as well. I enjoy the satisfying feeling of getting a badge for taking good care of my teeth. I have a small story about this app that I'd like to share. I was freaking out because the start scan wasn't appearing and I looked at my calendar to see if the date was right, then I looked at my Alexa and I saw the date and I realized that I crossed off an extra day. So my scan was on the next day 😂 I know this is probably not as long as the other reviews but I hope this was a good read! : )

2. 1/5Slow like 1980s uploads, datasharing glitches

   After 12 hours of trying to get a scan to upload with zero success (troubleshooting attempts like cancelling scans, trying again with new scans x3, closing app and reopening, shutting off phone and restarting, checking OS was updated, checking with provider to get new email link to uninstall and reinstall app etc) I was at my wits end. My work requires lock screen to go into efect after 3 minutes, and app if goes into lock screen interrupts the upload. The upload was taking hours!!!! Each segment was often getting part way through and then restarting on its progress bar even when app wasn’t closed or going to lock screen. I have high speed satellite wifi, that was working uninterrupted for other people in the family while this was going on. Finally got a scan to go through by turning off my wifi and using cellular data only. This app developer must not have worked through some sort of permission or datatsharing protocol that would need to be compatible with my wifi. I have NEVER had an issue with any other app not being compatible with my wifi and find it ridiculous that these uploads will require my cellular data only to function (and that it took me stumbling into that solution on my own to figure out to make this work for my provider).

3. 1/5Incredibly annoying

   This app is super frustrating. You HAVE to have notifications enabled otherwise it requires you to pretend you are enabling them each time and forces you to go into your settings. You cannot proceed with a scan with out this. (I have to use an old phone to scan because the scanner doesn’t fit over my phone case - and I have notifications set up on my actual phone - but don’t need notifications on BOTH phones.) You also can only scan when it allows. And if anything is off, even in the slightest, with your aligners, you get a condescending AI message and a “no go” for moving to the next aligners. And then random scan notifications there after with more condescending messages. Also has lots of pop ups of “badge” notifications and “share with friends.” Pretty ridiculous for adults using this or for children that don’t have phones/social media - not that ortho treatment should be shared with the world anyways. The badges may only be “cute” for pre teen kids but even then, they are highly annoying and unnecessary. I highly regret signing up for Invisalign and more specifically with my orthodontist that requires the use of this app. I wish I could give it zero stars.

4. 3/5A good option, but a little inefficient

   I’ve been using the scan box with the app for a few months now, for Invisalign, and I do think it’s a cool app. I like how my orthodontist can see my scans and send me messages and vice versa, and the app is pretty user friendly. The one thing I will say, is that it’s a little redundant, the order in which you need to take the pictures. First you need to take your aligners out and take a bunch of scans with them out. AFTER that, you put your aligners back in and scan with that. Usually for me, I do my scans first thing in the morning, so my aligners have been on all night and are at their best fit. I almost always get pushed back for a couple of days because I have to take them out and put them back in. Usually I have better results if I chew on a chewy for 5ish minutes (like we’re supposed to anyways) but the order that the scans are done in just end up wasting a lot of time.

5. 1/5Terrible with iPhone 16

   This app worked great until I got a new phone. The device you’re supposed to use it with was made for a smaller phone and does not hold it still. Even when I can hold it in place with my hands, half the time the app no longer registers anything. I’ve spent 30 minutes sometimes trying to get a scan that used to take less than 3 minutes. It tells me to “insert the tube into your mouth” and as soon as I do it tells me “assemble the scan box,” and then when I take it out of my mouth to recheck the assembly it immediately tells me to put it back in my mouth again. OR it seems fine until it has to take photos, at which point it doesn’t register that I’m exactly where it told me to be and it won’t take any of the scans. It’s maddening and apparently my orthodontist’s office can’t get any assistance from the company because they said all they can do is have me come in every 6 weeks as a replacement for the app.
