   (I would first just like the say. Please ignore all the hateful comments about this place.) Oh my Dave’s…where do I even start. From the moment I walked into the store, until the moment I walked out of the store. I was filled with joy. The way the chicken is cooked to absolute perfection…TEXTbook. The way the worker took my order…TEXTbook. The way the worker called my name for my food TEXTbook. The way the worker even re-stocked the sauce packets was even a textbook job. Everything here is impeccable. The best feeling in the world is when that worker calls your name that your food is ready…you get up out of you seat…walk over to the counter…and receive your chicken…although it is indeed chicken…it feels more of like receiving an award. It feels like you just accomplished your biggest life goal. It really is special. I love Dave’s so much and everyone who talks bad about Dave’s is truly lying. No better restaurant in the world than THE Dave’s Hot Chicken.

2. 1/5Please fix your app Dave…

   DISCLAIMER: This review is being written towards the app, not the restaurant itself I was at Dave’s Hot Chicken once while hanging out with a friend and I absolutely loved their food that I knew I had to come back again one day. So today, I tried to order my meal through this app, which when I do, it first gave me an error that the request timed out. I then went to try and order again on the app when this time, I get another error, which was when both attempts of trying to pay on the app appeared into my bank account as a pending charge. So I then tried to call the restaurant location that I was trying to pick up my order from when the employee on the phone says that they don’t even see both orders have went through to their systems! This was when as soon as I have arrived to the restaurant, I would have to show the employee proof that the Dave’s Hot Chicken app had tried to charge me for two orders that didn’t even go through to the restaurant. Since the employees were not able to receive my order, there was nothing they could do and I had to order my meal again and wait longer than planned since it was a walk-in. I could never imagine having a restaurant app that can’t even send orders to the restaurant, but will try to charge your card for the meal anyway. Dave, if you are reading this review, please fix your restaurant app. I love the food at Dave’s, but it would feel disappointing to not have a well-functional app to place orders ahead of time

3. 4/5BEWARE ONLINE ORDERING:

   Sauce packets are not included even if you specifically payed for extra ones; you have to ask for sauce in person, but at least they’ll give them to you for FREE without asking. They also will not include the pickles or side sauce that should be included when ordering menu items such as the sliders, even when they’re in the picture and description of the item. Side complaint, they have an oddly difficult time with connecting your order to you: for some reason, your name on the receipt is initials only, which actually just makes it harder for them to identify your order specifically. Plus, the monitor above displaying the preparing and prepared orders doesn’t actually display the correct orders, as mine wasn’t there at all when I arrived. While these aren’t necessarily dealbreakers, and the food is absolutely delicious, and of course I’ll still come back, but it is simply a bit disheartening and irritating that these hiccups exist, as they may cost you a couple minutes, or even dollars. At least now I know how to properly handle the system! (Btw just to clarify, I’ve used both their website AND app for the online orders.)

4. 3/5Long, Unnecessary Wait

   We love Dave’s Hot Chicken and it’s literally my son’s favorite place. Today we ordered on the app and arrived at the store a few minutes later. Our first cashier was great and communicated well letting us know our food would be out in a few minutes. She then went to the kitchen and was replaced up front by another female cashier. An order or two were given to other customers and then an order that looked like ours was bagged and placed on the counter. The cashier then turned her attention to other things, leaving that order sitting in the counter for a really long time. After 5-10 minutes, the original cashier came out (and was wonderfully pleasant like the first interaction), and asked the other one if the order for Jason was waiting on anything and it was not. It had just sat there on the counter for all that time for no reason. Not sure what the issue was as we had no interaction at all with the second cashier, but the service was really off putting. It felt intentional. We’ll probably be back, but on a shorter leash.

5. 3/5I’m reviewing the APP here, not the restaurant

   I normally order from Dave’s, which is fantastic food, on the web. I downloaded the app because of the free shake offer, and, of course, like many others here there’s no way to redeem that. That’s frustration #1. Frustration #2 is that when you select a heat level from the menu the red line around the box is so thin it’s difficult to see that you actually selected something (just make the red line bolder guys). Frustration #3 and this is probably the worst was I made my order and submitted it via Apple Pay and it gave me an oops error and did not show the transaction completed. Fortunately the transaction did go through but I only knew it because I saw the charge in my email. Navigation is clunky, but mimic the website. If you like hot chicken, Dave’s is definitely a 5 Star fast food place, but the app needs a lot of work and screw that beaten click
