Bug Fixes - Fixed blurry preview for RAW photos -- RAW photos could appear blurry after opening them for editing in some cases instead of showing the full-resolution preview. - Fixed a crash when opening photos for editing. - Fixed rendering failures with very large images. - Fixed spurious error messages when quickly switching photos -- Rapidly navigating between photos could incorrectly trigger error states in the UI. - Fixed a crash when exporting RAW photos with masks -- Exporting a RAW photo with foreground or background masks (e.g., selective edits using subject masking) would crash. This now works correctly. - Fixed batch export failing on second and subsequent photos -- When exporting multiple photos at once, some photos could fail because the previous photo hadn't fully finished processing. Batch exports now complete reliably. - Fixed Undo hiding crop handles -- Using Undo while in the crop tool would cause the crop handles to disappear. They now remain visible after undoing. - Fixed Aspect Ratio selection disappearing after rotation -- Selecting an aspect ratio and then rotating the photo would clear the selection indicator, even though the ratio was still applied. The selection now stays visible. - Fixed broken export of rotated photos with frames -- Exporting a photo that was both rotated and had a frame applied could produce misaligned results. The geometry is now computed correctly. Improvements - Improved "Edit With Darkroom" on Mac -- Opening photos from Apple Photos via "Edit With Darkroom" is now smoother. A single photo opens directly in the editor, while multiple photos open in the grid with all selected. - Improved batch action buttons -- The Batch, Clear, and Done buttons now have larger tap targets and a more consistent appearance. - Improved grid overlay icons on Mac -- The grid overlay options in the Transform tool (Thirds, Phi, Center, etc.) now use properly scaled icons on Mac.

Bug Fixes - Fixed crash on iPad during app startup — Some iPad users were experiencing crashes when opening the app. This has been resolved. - Fixed RAW photos with previous Darkroom edits failing to open — RAW photos that were previously edited and exported with Darkroom were showing an "Unable to initialize input image" error. These photos now open correctly. - Fixed black line artifact appearing at video edges — When panning or zooming on videos, a thin black line could appear at the edges. This update is the first in a series of updates that reduce the amount of memory consumed by the app during exports. This is in an effort to eliminate the out-of-memory crashes that can happen when exporting large photos on older devices.

Previously, using Masks could prevent Clarity from being applied as expected when exporting in batch. - Batch editing is now more reliable when using Masks. Exporting multiple photos from the Photo Grid after applying edits in batches should no longer fail or behave inconsistently. - Reduced memory usage when exporting RAW photos, helping exports run smoother especially on large files or multi-photo workflows.

Darkroom+ subscribers can now edit important photo details directly, from capture date, time, and location to deeper camera and lens information stored in EXIF metadata. • Export quality and consistency improved across masks, clarity, color grading, curves, and framed or cropped images. • Fixed issues with the Histogram showing inaccurate spikes, causing the clipping indicator to appear. • Improved video controls so they stay visible while working with videos. • Fixed duplicate Window menu items and improved command handling. • Fixed crashes related to shared preset links, closing the editor, generating preset thumbnails, and working with masks.

We have refreshed the UI throughout with the latest Liquid Glass aesthetic introduced in iOS 26 and refined for the coming iOS 27. It looks lighter, feels more immersive, and removes a lot of small bits of friction across the app. * The library interface now has a beautiful Liquid Glass Tab bar that makes jumping between albums and your Recents much easier. * The sliders and the tool area got a design refresh as well, with many details sprinkled throughout. * Library photo grid can now be resized with fit and fill modes (Try pinching with your finger to resize the grid). * We have updated the AI model we use to generate Depth masks on your photos so they now have much much higher fidelity and accuracy than before. * Depth, Luminance, and Color masks have a new range tool with customizable falloffs so you can make more accurate and refined selections. * Lots of little details and refinements to make the experience beautiful, polished, and compelling.
