1. 4/5Great way to experience DM

   I do love Daily Motion in general because every time I really want to watch something I can’t find anywhere else, I almost always find it on DM. I used to be able to cast to Chromecast from the browser UI but recently found that wasn’t the case, and there were some weird ad/commercial glitches. I was glad to find there was an app and the app is many times better and easier to use AND the chromecast is back! I also love (on both, I think) the super easy scrubbing bar used to fast forward/rewind/find your place in a video. There are also loads less ads in general on the app. The only issue is my “Recently Watched” list consistently displays that I haven’t yet watched anything even though I’ve watched many episodes of my show since installing the app a few days ago. The search also leaves a little to be desired and it’s not always easy to find what I want. I wish I could sort videos of those I follow alphabetically instead of just how recently they uploaded. All said, I’m super pleased with the app and will never use the browser again. Well done!

2. 2/5Still won’t work

   Update: It’s been a while since I wrote this original review, which was the only thing that got the developers’ attention. After finally contacting me back, they assured me they were working on the problem. However, it’s been at least a week more, probably longer, and still the issue persists. I’ve heard nothing from the developer again now, and none of the devices in my house will work with the download feature now. That’s iPad minis and iPad Pro 10.5” all freeze on trying to use the download feature. It’s very frustrating, so I’m dropping another star. Edited original review: For longer than two weeks, I haven’t been able to use this app, because if I download something to watch and tap it to play, it just freezes everything and the app has to be shut down. The date, time, battery, and wifi symbols disappear from the top of the screen, and the app freezes and you can’t load the video, or click on anything else in the app. I’ve tried everything. Deleting the app, turning the iPad off and on again, hard powering off, messing with the settings, deleting all recently updated apps, and even updating my iPad; but nothing works. I contacted Support and never heard back. I’m using an iPad Pro 10.5” with iOS 15.4. Please fix this! I don’t want to not like this app.

   I downloaded the app, because I hated how terrible the website was with iPhone rotation and how it didn’t keep your progress in a video, only to find out the app is worse in a lot of ways: * When I relaunch the app is shows me the same stupid Home video instead of resuming the last video I was watching and there seems to be no way to resume it. The best I can do is find the video in my watch history and restart it from the beginning. * The most frustrating thing is that the scrubber is UNUSABLE when in landscape/full-screen mode on the iPhone — there is literally no way to move the scrubber, as it keeps trying to shift the app (triggered by the white bar at the bottom of the screen). The ONLY way to use the scrubber is to rotate back to portrait mode, which is pretty obnoxious. DID NOBODY TEST THIS?! * And I wouldn’t need to use the scrubber if there were jump forward/backward buttons like EVERY OTHER STREAMING APP. Why is it you’ve opted not to include them?! OK, I just had to downgrade from 2 stars to 1 because of utterly frustrating this app is. If what you want is to constantly replay whatever stupid video is on the Explore (a tab I wish I could turn off altogether), and never be able to resume a video, and constantly automatically switching to portrait but NOT back to landscape, and constantly have to use the worst scrubber of any video app in existence, then this is the app for you. Either no one who designs this app actually uses it to watch videos, or they’ve never used another streaming app because there’s no way someone who had ever used, say, the Netflix app would design such a terrible user experience.

4. 1/5If you like ads every three minutes,

   ….you will LOVE this app!! And if you like to watch the same ad over and over and over, even better! Also, there’s the added frustration of the periodic appearance of a “Skip Ad” button, but don’t press it!! If you do, the ad will start over and play again. And again. And again. BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!! After watching all these ads, and the video that you were watching *finally* comes back, it, too, will start over playing from its beginning. So unless you like to fast forward over and over and over and over to get back to where you were in the video before ads started playing over and over and over, which happens less than five minutes after the video starts playing, you might not like this app. Truly, I get that *someone* has to pay the bills. And I don’t generally object to watching ads in order to not pay directly for an online experience. But this app is unbelievable. Between the endless, repetitive ads, and having to fast forward back to where I was in the video after it restarted every five minutes, it took nearly two hours to watch a 55-minute documentary. Ridiculous. Find somewhere else to watch your videos. This ain’t it.

5. 1/5TOO MANY ADS!!!

   I’m about sick of this app To the developers of this app, the videos have become unbearable because of the ads. Constant interruptions from ads. It’s uncalled for out of pure greed of the Adsense. No video needs 5-8 ads every 2-3 minutes. If you use 2X speed you have to hold it down. The moment you move at the slightest, the video resets and you’re bombarded with more ads. At what point do you stop? I quit using the app for a while because of the nuisance of these ads. There’s no permanent way for any video to have 2X speed. There’s no way to stop the insane amount of ads. It takes 2-3 hours to watch one hour video. That’s insane. Your greed will be the death of this app. There’s a skip as option but it just triggers 20 more. Be so for real. I don’t think you use your own app because if you did, you’d be just as annoyed. I’d love to give this app a higher rating but truthfully, you don’t deserve it for disturbing my peace with the rage I feel over the overwhelming ads. Again, out of pure greed. There’s no other app out there that does this. All apps have ads anymore but nothing like this. Your ads interference is on steroids or crack. It’s one right after the next. Why? You need to address this immediately. Skip the ad, glitch, reset the video. Skip the ad, 6 play in the background and noise screams through the phone. Reset, glitch, restart, constant issues because of the ads. I share links constantly and send traffic this way but if this greed doesn’t get under control, I will refuse. I have a decent following and folks trust what I said. Recently I’ve had to tell folks that I can’t share links because if the ads are annoying me like this, it will annoy them. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE ADS!!!!! Your greed is ridiculous.

   the app itself has really cool stuff on it but the ads will kill you! they have an ad every 5 minutes and they are not the little ones you find on YouTube that you can skip after 30 seconds! they are long they are mandatory and they will annoy the hell out of you...
