1. 5/5Anyone with the most minor interest in art needs this app

   Anyone with the most minor interest in art, needs this app; it will create a great lover of art out of you. Honestly, I think anyone at all needs this app, there isn’t a single person I know who doesn’t appreciate some paintings, even if not others, which is the beauty of this app. It is the most unobtrusive entry into the world of art, featuring pieces taken from the most famous museums and galleries around the world and smaller ones that are lesser known, that introduce you to things you would have never found otherwise. The method is pretty simple, 1 piece a day with a short bit about what you’re looking at underneath. That’s it, there you go. If you don’t like todays, wait till tomorrow. And bit by bit, you start to enter into the vast world of art and movements and cultures and it becomes really cool and also beautiful. I suggest paying to remove ads, it’s not expensive and it let’s you click around freely, search for specific pieces, look at your favorites, etc. Another feature I love is that the pictures of the art when you click on them each day typically are very high resolution, much nicer than what you can find on the internet, and you can zoom in and out and really see so much detail that you would otherwise only be able to see if you were there at the museum, potentially halfway across the world.

2. 1/5Impossible to use

   Exited to use the app, but when I downloaded it, in less than a minute I was already presented two ads. One at the bottom of the screen which blocked the art of the day, and the second because I wanted to tap the art to see it full. You are constantly bombarded with subscription offers. You cant access the history of most artists without having a subscription, as if their life can only be read through the app itself. There is a bit of lag as well, but I’m not sure if others have the same problem. It appears the placement of uncountable ads is new, and others who were not subscribed could still have an enjoyable experience using the app. Take a note from word of the day, they dont force the ads down others throats, they allow the user to see the ads when they want in exchange for offers only allowed to people who are subscribed, but the ads themselves are never shown without the person choosing to see them. This isn’t leading to others purchasing the subscription, rather making them leave the app completely. It could be a really high quality app if you chose to take away at least half of your ads and their placements.

3. 4/5Exactly what I was looking for

   I’ve always wanted to learn more about art but never knew where to start. Art museum audio tours were usually pretty shallow and uninspired and didn’t help my learning. This app and the daily widget is amazing. It helps me discover new artists and pieces that I wouldn’t have ever seen otherwise, while also learning more about the artist, the time period, the style, and the impact it all had. My only complaint is that I feel like some features shouldn’t be premium gatekept. I want to be able to search up art pieces to learn more about them when I stumble on them organically, but I can’t do that. My exploration of an artist or piece always ends abruptly because I don’t have access to any of their other piece descriptions. I wouldn’t mind something like having a limit of 3-5 pieces per month or something, but it does feel like it’s actively discouraging people from learning more about art.

4. 3/5Just me, or…

   I don’t like the app structure or anything, it’s just i have an eye for art. It is fun to browse, but the paid subscription is too forced. I feel like you could make it cheaper or turn a few features into free ones. I do think this app could see more popularity and love if the non-paying community was more welcomed. It feels overdone, as every time you attempt to access a paid feature, it completely halts your experience with a full screen pop-up. It would be much appreciated by me and many others if you were only to remove the popups and simply add a pro tab (like discover, search and daily) in which you can see the price, pay options, and features added. If you attempt to use a pro feature without a subscription, a simple text popup saying ‘pro is required for this feature’ and simply have it disappear in a few seconds, allowing the user to simply continue with their art experience. I don’ want to be the “it’s too expensive” guy, but a lot of people using the app don’t have or want to spend money. It would be much to my appreciation if you were to add one or more of these recommendations in a future update, or at least consider them. -your’s truly: (not saying my name)

5. 5/5Love the app (One small glitch, though)

   The good stuff: So, I absolutely adore this app. I don’t even care that there’s a premium, and with most apps I hate it when there’s a premium. The app helps me discover art and new artists which I find incredibly interesting and fun. Highly recommend. The bad stuff: I encountered a glitch a couple months into using the app. My dad paid for the family plan, which I was covered under. I believe he started that in mid-January. One day in early March it completely logged me out. I was still technically covered under the family plan, as was everyone else in the family, but for whatever reason I couldn’t log in. My dad and I tried multiple times but the app would not let me log in. It was pretty close to the day he would have to renew the plan anyways, so we just decided to let it be and he stopped paying for it and now we are back to non-premium DailyArt. I’m not sure what happened, but I thought I’d include it in the review so somebody could maybe see and address it.
