  1. 5/5Great app with a few things I would like to see

This is a fantastic app with an insane amount of customization. There's a few little things that I would like to see. I noticed that when pairing your device it shows the battery level. It would be nice on the main screen to see a small battery level indicator for each device. You would also be nice if there was a way that when your heart rate changed into different zones you could choose whether to alert you were not in the same with cadence. The last thing I would like to see is when you're out the first set of pages you could swipe either left or right. Swiping right would take you to the last page of your set instead of having to swipe through all the pages to get to the end. This should be an easy one to fix and I hope they do. I also really really want a 3-5 second power option 20 second is way to long and a live reading is to jumpy. Keep up the good work in the new innovations. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. Update: 2022 Still using this as my go to app for all my cycling metrics. I love the Apple Watch feature and one of my favorite settings is I can tap the screen and it will read all the metrics I have programed. This makes it nice so I do t have to take my eyes off the road to see how I’m doing. I can also have it programmed to intervals and report automatically. Still my favorite after all these years.

  2. 5/5Dashboard custom limited

Caveat: I’ve only used this on one ride. Still, I also use a wired cyclecomputer and the distances matched. This is replacing a cycle computer app I’ve used for years, so I’m familiar with using an app. Like that the timer pauses when one pauses. I really have NO interest in the calories on the readout. Instructions built in say I can change by clicking on the “^”. Problem is there is NO “^” to be found anywhere! Wha??? This is the main reason I rated 4 Stars, not 5. I was able to change the graph, something I like. Will only know about the accuracy of the “ascent” after several rides of familiar routes. Also, as this is mounted on my top tube, the figures are easy to read both because of the different colors and they are in bold. But I really want to change the calories readout to my heart rate. Note that it instantly found and paired to my Polaris heart rate chest strap monitor. I am also extremely impressed with all the analytics after the ride — maybe more than I need as a fitness but not competitive rider but, hey, why not? Don’t have an Apple watch but wish it would link to my Fitbit Versa but don’t consider this lack a problem. UPDATE after 5 months: Turns out there are various “Stopwatch pages” in settings where one can go to customize this and alternate pages. Have done so and am very happy, changing from 4 stars to 5. Wish I knew how accurate the altimeter was but suspect it has to do with phone hardware. Even so, any ride exported to Strava shows much higher altitude gains. I’d like that to be true but suspect it isn’t.

  3. 5/5Dazed and Confused

After a thirty year plus hiatus from road cycling, I decided to get back into the sport. As most people getting back into an old hobby, I immediately turned to the internet to get me up to speed. Keep in mind, when I last rode a bike, helmets were pretty much non-existent, aluminum bikes were all the rage and bike computers… what the heck is a bike computer? I decided I would download and app on my i-phone until I could research the best computer for the job. Now, after using this app for the last few weeks, I am blown away and left seriously wondering why anyone would need a bike computer? Get a quad lock, attach your phone, open up the app and happy pedaling. You can see yourself riding on a GPS map along side some key metrics. If you desire push yourself while riding and see your data change in real time. When you get home you can save and study the data in detail; your time, speed (average and high), cadence, power, breakdown of data per mile, summary of the ride, see your route on a map, etc. and many other data points. Is a bike computer better? I have no idea but I cannot imagine how it could be better. I give this an A+ for my purposes and on my Apple IPhone, the battery does not move even a little on my average 10-15 mile rides.

  4. 5/5Try Cyclemeter before buying a dedicated cycling computer!

I have tried so many cycling apps over the years I have lost count. Cyclemeter is in a completely separate class, far above all the others. Its full suite of metrics rivals, and exceeds, the most expensive dedicated cycling computers. It's UI is very user friendly and because it takes advantage of the iPhone's robust hardware, the execution of its software is smooth and delightful. And, of course, no dedicated cycling computer can rival the size and performance of the iPhone's screen. And if that wasn't enough, customer service is brilliant and responsive. I use a Quad Lock case to attach my iPhone to my bike. It is a solid, elegant piece of hardware. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the issue of battery life. Depending on the model iPhone you have and the brightness level of the screen, you will get varying battery life. But you will not match the battery life of a dedicated cycling computer that excels at battery life such as a $600, Garmin 1030+. So, if you are going on a long ride of 10+ hours, you will need to bring a spare battery to recharge your phone. The vast majority of my rides are in the 1-3 hour range. The iPhone+Cyclemeter+ QuadLock are perfect for such rides.

  5. 5/5Great cycling app!! Highly recommend!

Love this app! Been using on all my road bike outings for almost 20 months /~7000 miles. Incredible range of functionality. Great customer service - don’t hesitate to contact if any issues; you’ll get quick, thorough response. Very easy to create / customize multiple screens, including home screen” for data you want visible while riding. Can prevent from sleeping. Easy to create / customize bar & pie charts for past ride data. Great map functionality. Easy to quickly find past rides in multiple ways (history menu, calendar, etc.) More I use / play around with, more cool features i find... Easy to import / export data files. Backs up easily to iCloud. Given how happy i am with app, don’t mind at all annual $9.99 fee for all functionality; seems like “fair” price. Only thing on my wish list - ability to upload some ride photos... A second review - in my third year of using this app and absolutely love it. Developers are very responsive. The features are amazing. I keep discovering new things, either by periodically re-reading the Help section, playing around with menus, or asking questions to the developers about something I did not think app could do but turns out it can (the Help section is good but definitely does not fully illuminate everything about the app...). I recommend this app to anyone asking for advice on best way to track their rides - friends where I live, people in cycling forums I visit regularly, etc One feature worth highlighting - you can set app to send periodic updates during ride at customized intervals (such as distance ridden, time, start and finish of ride) to one or more people with customized info (avg speed, ascent, etc) - and a link to an online map that shows where you are. Among other things, live online map is good safety feature so someone will know where you are if you break down

This update includes a major database optimization we’ve been working on for the past year. Your workout data is now stored far more efficiently — most databases will shrink to as little as 6% of their original size, saving space on your iPhone and in iCloud. It also includes improvements to sensor recording, especially speed sensors, and adds support for new power meters from Magene. Control Cyclemeter hands-free: • "Hey Siri, ask Cyclemeter to Start" (also: Lap, Stop, Discard, Reset, or Done) • "Hey Siri, ask Cyclemeter for Distance" (also: Time, Pace, Speed, Heart Rate, Power, Grade, and more) Examples: • "Hey Siri, ask Cyclemeter to Start" • "Hey Siri, ask Cyclemeter for Average Speed" • "Hey Siri, ask Cyclemeter for Grade" • "Hey Siri, ask Cyclemeter to Stop" Heads up: Any Shortcuts you created previously will need to be deleted and recreated. Wind and road noise can prevent Siri from hearing you, so commands work best when stopped or moving slowly.
