  1. 5/5This does more than I expected

His heart rate monitor has done far more than I expected. The other day for the first time I noticed that it also access a thermometer, measuring the ambience air temperature. Considering that I work out at home with Katabel’s, indoor bike and other devices, I don’t keep my house at a low temperature in the 60s, and constantly have my temperature above 80 especially living in Las Vegas. being able to see how the temperatures affect my work out have been great. The built-in cadence technology has also been amazing. Then let’s get to the part of the advice that I really wanted this to work for; heart rate monitor. This is absolute fantastic. My Garman watch typically defaults to what is detecting on my wrist. Period. I’ve noticed in the past that when you go above 160 beats a minute, it becomes less and less accurate. Carmens are absolutely amazing watches, but without the accurate, chess trap like most smart watches the heart rate monitor is just not good enough. The pairing between this strap in my Garman are taking my workouts to the next level with detail.. And I would absolutely recommend this device to everybody. For runners, cyclists and triathletes, this really is an essential piece of equipment.

  2. 4/5Was 5 stars until last update.

Wahoo is trying to fix my app crashing problem. They even sent me out a new TICKR X2 for free hoping that will fix the crashing issue. We will see. The other things wahoo should add to get a 5 star rating is integration with either APPLE/Google maps so we can get turn by turn real navigation in app, or add that feature themselves like Bikemap or Ride with GPS so we don’t need to run multiple apps simultaneously which can lead to very skewed readings. Keep up the good work. You guys aways have friendly and responsive customer service. After updating my iPhone 11 Pro Max to iOS 13.6.1 and updating wahoo fitness, the app stopped working. Every time I tried to open the app it would hang for a few extra seconds and then close. It’s screen would appear when I went into multitasking mode but would still not open. Customer service email suggested I delete and reinstall the app, which I had already done once before, erasing 3 months and 91 workouts in that time frame. They also recommended uploading the data to strava, which I do already, but the graphs aren’t exactly the same. And what happens when the app crashes before I can upload to strava? This is unacceptable. I’d switch to a different app altogether but I rely on the cadence sensor in. The TICKR X, which is not compatible as far as I can tell with other cycling apps that are compatible with Bluetooth HR chest straps. 1 Star until fixed. And I’ll not be purchasing the Kickr Snap indoor trainer, since their software is so buggy.

  3. 4/5Please add build-a-workout functionality! UPDATE What’s going on with statistics?

I have been using this app for about a year with my Kickr. Overall, the app works well. I find the in-ride controls to be fairly easy to use. No issues with connecting to cadence/other sensors (looking at you, Zwift). I like being able to review my stats and have it all connect to the iPhone Health app. My one request would be for the ability to create prefab workouts rather than having to manually adjust resistance on the fly. I would like to be able to open the app and pick something I have saved in advance, like HIITs or sweet spot training or whatever, without having to adjust the settings while I ride. Thanks! UPDATE: what is the point of the new statistics feature, when it doesn’t even show indoor cycling? I did a ride and went to check out the new feature . . . made sure every single option is toggled on to display . . . and it says I did nothing today. Is it only for tracking workouts that people do outside??

  4. 2/5Nice Standalone, But Altitude WAY Off!

I bought the Cadence & Speed sensor pack a couple years ago. Setup of the sensors and app went fine. As a long-time Strava user, I wanted to compare the accuracy of Strava vs Wahoo. I had to fuss with the rear wheel diameter quite a bit from the 700x23 default before the two apps were within 1~2% of each other for distance. Then, the app began acting up after an update. Wahoo would drop out every few readings from the sensors, so a 19mph average pace ride would display as 14mph average over ~2/3 my actual distance. Sadly, the Strava app (at the time when it used to connect to cadence & speed sensors) was spot-on using the same sensors. I reached out to Wahoo support, and they kept in touch with me for months on the issues. Eventually, I was informed of an update that would fix my issue. Sure enough, the update fixed the sensor connections. Now, Wahoo’s altitude gain is WAY off in the app based on the GPS and sensors on my phone (1st gen iPhone SE). So, a ride with 1,439’ of climbing (per Strava) displays as 5,401’ in Wahoo. Here’s where that really stinks - if I upload my Wahoo rides to Strava, Strava corrects the altitude, and the calculation results in a ~2/3 decrease in my estimated power average. I cannot find any way of getting these two apps to work together. So, I just use both apps simultaneously - Wahoo to display metrics during my ride and Strava to log it.

  5. 1/5From stellar to cellar

I’ve used the previous version of this app for years. It always worked with no fiddling needed. It easily linked with my two units. The heart and the speed and cadence monitors. Imagine my surprise when after loading this improved version I find nothing works except GPS. So today I go out and try to get my units to pair. It took multiple attempts to get the speed/cadence unit recognized and even more attempts to get my heart monitor recognized. Whew talk about screwing up a good app. Then I tried to access the data from the ride I took yesterday and lo and behold your programmers have made that totally useless. Before I got a map and graphs of the ride, heart rate, speed, cadence and I could put in a picture. Now with the new and improved app I get a blank screen. You should shoot the programmers and the people who approved this change. Now just to show you I’m not some newb who likes to complain I want you to know when I first started using your product it also recorded the mileage accumulated. Then you took that out of the app and I didn’t complain. But this going way too far. Either fix it and fast or you have lost a customer and I will go find another company who understand that an improvement to something requires it to work better than before not just looking different and not working at all. You have been put on notice.

Train with ventilation zones (Tymewear). Pair your Tymewear sensor and your ELEMNT can now guide your training by breathing rate, a direct measure of effort that responds faster than heart rate. Set your personal ventilation thresholds so your zones match your physiology, watch your current zone as a data field mid-ride, and see time-in-zone afterward on your ELEMNT. Ventilation data is now also written to your FIT file, so you can access it post ride. Easier membership management. You can now change or upgrade your plan in your Wahoo account portal, with clear pricing shown before you commit. More accurate GPS tracks (iOS) We've improved our GPS algorithm, so your recorded tracks should hug the road more closely, with fewer dropped points and fewer data spikes. Bug fixes - Live Track toggle now stays where you set it. - Fixed sync errors that could prevent routes from reaching your ELEMNT. - History screen is more stable and easier on your battery. - Fixed KICKR BRIDGE failing to connect to KICKR BIKE PRO.
